Why subject yourself to that screaming banshee?

♥Elena's POV♥

Lilium candidium, the botanical name of white lily which is popularly known as the cemetery plant grew around the graveyard and blossomed into beautiful flowers which symbolized the innocence that has been restored to the soul of the departed.

The blossom opened as if each flower were a book-- a book that was more sculpted divinely than written, the ink infusing into the petals to give them their soft glow while the flowers gave a subtle aromatic fragrance to the graveyard.

The moment the warlock made his appearance, their once beautiful petals curled at the edge from Lucindo's black magic. Already their stalks are limp and when I bent to pick some up, their head withered with gravity towards the ground and they remained dry and dead. The dead petals could only symbolize something. Either Lucindo is toxic or he has a death aura surrounding him.

"Lucindo!" Dad waved his hand and gave a deep-rooted smile like he was addressing a friend.

"Sup buddy?" Lucindo cocked a brow at us and gave a half-smile.

He was tall, well-built, and his complexion reminded me of hot chocolate. He had the kind of face that stopped people dead in their tracks. There was a permanent cocky smirk on his face and his appearance screamed confidence and player alert. He was incredulously beautiful and depraved. But then again, even the biblical scriptures defined the devil as the most beautiful angel ever created, so there was a murking gloom waiting to be unleashed.

Dad folded his arms to his chest and took a step forward. "Buddy? I was expecting foe but then again, I learned death often gifts one with amnesia, courtesy of my dear father, perhaps we should be thanking him."

Now I'm beginning to worry, what the hell is wrong with these two people?

Lucindo stiffened and let out a harsh breath. "Why don't you hold that wicked tongue of yours before I rip it off."

Dad snickered and muttered, "Oh my, did I manage to rile you up over this little course of conversation? You really should take an anger management class and see that revenge is pointless so why not enjoy your new life?"

"Enjoy my new life? Oh yes, that's what I plan to do after ending your filthy family line and taking over the coven." He gave a mirthless bitter laugh.

"Anyways, welcome to LA, you must have come a long way so let me have the honor of putting you back to rest in pieces." Mom extended her palms to the warlock who took it and winced in pain.

"Wow, things must have changed a lot over the centuries. So the Marshalls now bring werewolves to fight their battles?" Lucindo removed his hand from mom's grasp and tucked some strands of hair behind her ear.

"I'm his wife, you nut case." Mom threw a blade at the warlock who burned it with his staff before it could touch him.

"This is rather cowardly for Cedric, and sad for you because you will only end up as collateral damage. A perfect tragedy in the history of the Marshalls downfall." He grinned and began humming a tune.

"The Marshalls succeeded in wiping out your existence from the surface of the earth, you should be petrified that history is about to repeat itself." Mom scoffed at his expression. The dude must be good at acting, he feigned shock and stared at her with wide eyes before releasing a low peal of laughter.

"Why are you subjecting yourself to that screaming banshee? He is just a whole bunch of talks with lesser actions." Dad picked at his nails and yawned.

"Running your mouth like tap water I see, Cedric." He raised his eyebrows and grinned at dad.

"I only pity your pack who will be needing a new Alpha soon." He whisper-yelled at mom and pinched his thumb and index finger.

Mom's eyes flashed red and she threw a punch at Lucindo's face. Lucindo froze her hands in the air and began chanting. Her bones were beginning to rearrange themselves to that of a predator and she shrieked in pain.

Cedric punched a grave and swung the block at Lucindo who also froze it in the air like he was controlling gravity, made the ginormous block split into pieces, and charged them back at dad who was now caged inside the blocks because of magic.

"Lucindo!!" Hilda hollered and charged at the warlock. Blows and kicks were exchanged and it looked like Hilda was at the top of her game since she had him strangled and held up in the air while his legs wobbled underneath nothing.

Suzy raised her hands in the air while Lucindo witches gasped for breath, she waved her hands towards a block and the women went crashing down there. Bastiana went to them and begun to cause them migraines and drain their magic.

Lucindo chanted some incantations and Hilda was flung aggressively to the grave. She stood up and tried to attack the warlock but she was glued to the spot. It was a freaking boundary spell and of course, she was inside the circle drawn with white powder and other ingredients.

At this point, I knew I had to re-strategize. If with all immense strength thrown the warlock's way and he was able to overcome easily and still overpower everyone then other tactics must be applied.
