Need to feed

Amber walked in the not-so-empty hallway, alone, with her eyes ahead of her but having lots of things going through her mind that it blocked the voice of her best friend calling her name.

“Amber!” Emma touched her when she caught up with her and at the slight touch, Amber flinched and moved backwards.

For a second, she thought she saw Emma’s face change to a different person before returning back to her normal face.

What was happening to her?

“Amber?” Emma called again and Amber snapped out of it.

“Oh!” she breathed out. “Hi Emma,” Amber responded with a short smile and her friend looked at her with worry in her eyes.

“Are you okay?” Emma asked and brought her hand to touch Amber’s face.

Amber caught her hand before it could reach her face and Emma winced as Amber had gripped her tight. She quickly released her hand and her lips moved without uttering a word.

She thought her friend would notice the scar on her face and start questioning her, which would make her spill everything, but
