"Hey! I need to pee!"
Roxanne bashed the door, each bang was louder than the last. "Is there anyone out there? I'm going to pee on the floor! Open the door damnit!" She pressed her ear against the door, hoping to detect the sound of footsteps and a grin stretched on her lips when she did.
She footed away from the door as it finally unlocked, disclosing a bearded man with a fatigued expression.
"What?!" His tone came out brisk but he could go fuck himself for all she cared.
Roxie clutched her legs together and bent with her hand over her stomach. "I need to pee."
He did a speedy scan over her with his dull eyes. "Do you take me for a nitwit? This isn't a fucking movie princess. Stay there before I tie you to the bed." He hissed, striving to shut the door but she grabbed it.
"Please, I swear I'm not fibbing. I really need to use the toilet. Please, please!" She bit painfully on her bottom lip and clenched her legs even tighter. Again, his eyes went aimlessly over her before he blew out a sigh.
He put his hand into his back pocket and plowed in front of her a blindfold. "You are going to put that on or pee on the damn floor."
She flashed him a desperate smile and snatched the blindfold before the asshole changed his mind. Roxie tied the piece of cloth over her eyes and was promptly engulfed by darkness, then he caught her wrist and tugged her along.
She couldn't see anything but she didn't mind, she shadowed him blindly till he was shoving her into a room and the door slammed shut. Immediately, she took off the blindfold and nearly winced at the luminance.
She looked around the bathroom; there was a toilet and a shower, and then, her gaze plunged to the tiny window above the toilet.
"Hey, are you done there?!" A knock came on the door.
"Hold on a sec! You need to let a lady take her time!" She yelled while mounting on the toilet seat, reaching the window, Roxie found myself peeking straight out in a green grove. Wasn't her luck just great or it was just rotten?
Roxie descended and opened the door, peeking her head out, the asshole looked at her with a bored expression. "Can I have a shower too? I feel humid and dirty, I promise I won't make much time. Five minutes is enough, please?"
"Just do whatever you want and get the fuck out!" He waved his hand dismissively and she went back in, shutting the door and putting the lock on it.
Roxie moved fast, turning on the shower before heading back to the window, luckily it was just glass as she slid it open.
She looked at the tiny space and down at her figure—She was bigger but she didn't care as she climbed on, sticking her head and the rest of her upper body out, then her hips got stuck—Roxie didn't think they were that large!
She propelled and wriggled till her whole body was out of the window and she anchored with her face on the dirty ground. Roxie held back an utterance and thrust herself off the ground. First, she looked at both sides and then she ran, as fast as her legs could carry her without looking back. She headed for the green, misty forest without a sense of destination—she just wanted to get as far away as she could from that house.
However, she didn't get as far as she wanted because five minutes later, she heard the sound of running steps, voices behind her, and then wolves.
Fuck! She cried out and fastened her pace.
"SOMEBODY HELP ME!!" She screeched to no one but tall trees that just watched as she ran past them. However, the further she went, her vision began to whirl. "Fuck no, please! SOMEBODY HELP ME!!"
And then, she heard it; the sound of her name.
"ROXANNE!"
She paused, listening for the direction of the voice till she realized it was coming ahead of her! "SOM-" She opened my mouth to yell but instantly shut it, realizing she didn't know who was yelling her name in a forest but the longer she stood there, she could hear the growls and howls of wolves behind her, getting closer.
At that moment, Roxie realized she was standing at the center of danger but there was no way she was going back, so she took the path ahead, racing towards the sound of her name.
Dear gods! This was not where her story came to an end right? She sprinted faster till she abruptly came to a halt in a clear opening and front of her were her first kidnapers. Just fucking great!
Should she be relieved? Roxie didn't know what to feel or think as the danger behind her got closer and without a second, she ran straight for the danger ahead—into the arms of her handsome kidnappers.
"Damn, are you okay?!"
She was boomeranged with questions but all she suddenly cared about were the arms she fell into. The handsome one, then the sound of growls and grunts yanked her out of her thoughts and when she turned, there were five wolves with black pupils.
Roxie was unable to encompass the loud and startled gasp that tugged out of her but the arms around her tauten and her head was placed on the crook of his neck, giving her a full dose of his scent that seemed to do things to her body in ways she couldn't explain.
"Shhhh. I got you. You're safe now."
Her mind knew about the precarious wolves about to rend them from lep to rip but her body fell under the spell of his deep, honey-like voice and words that she surrendered without putting up a fight, because in his arms as outlandish as it sounded, she felt protected so she gave in and then, her mind and body gave out.
She sat on her throne with an impious grin on her lips as the guards dragged a servant girl by the arms roughly into the throne room and threw her at her feet. “Please!” the servant pleaded with tears streaming down her face. She got up from her throne and approached the servant with a malignant glint in her eyes. She stopped in front of her and squatted to her level. A queen didn't go down for anybody but this one, she was ready to make an exception. “You tried to poison me, servant?” She laughed; her voice echoed throughout the hall; her aura was felt by everyone. She held her hand out and a goblet of wine was placed on her palm. She held it to the servant's face. “I saved this just for you. Want to have a taste?” The servant shook her head in fear but a Queen didn't take no for an answer as she grabbed the servant's mouth forcibly and with a laugh, she dumped the liquid of poisoned wine in her mouth and made sure no drop touched the floor.Feeling satisfied, she threw the goble
Roxanne was starting to believe all this was a fucking nightmare because there was no way her once-perfect life flipped just upside in the snap of a finger. They said she was one of them and that was the most bullshit Roxie had ever heard in her entire life. She could swear that she was human and had always been human. There was a moment when she spaced out, she didn't know when the unknown man left or when she was forced to take a bath and put into a dress that graced the floors beautifully and her face was beautified with makeup.“What do you think?”Roxie immediately came back to her senses and the reality before her.She was standing in front of a full-length mirror and the image that stared back at her was stunning, Roxie almost didn't recognize herself. The dress was beautiful, a red dress that cinched to her tiny waist adding to its flattering and streamlined silhouette. It had a v-neckline that spilled soft light fabric downwards with a gentle sway. It was flowy, delicate, and
Roxanne wanted to sleep and never wake up but when had things ever gone the way she wanted? She let out a grunt of exasperation as rays of sunshine punctured her eye as Bloom pushed the curtains open, making her presence known without hesitation.“Rise and shine!” She exclaims, and Roxie lets out another piqued sound from the back of her throat before throwing the covers over her head.“Go away!” She mumbled as she felt herself drift back to sleep almost instantly, only to have the covers yanked from her, causing her eyes to pop open and her body to jerk into a sitting position on the bed. “You took away my freedom and now you won't let me fucking sleep!” She cried and gave Bloom a sardonic glare, but the girl laughed and looked exactly like her name. "Today marks the start of the Dance of the Moon Ritual, which calls for all the champions to get to know one another over breakfast every day. You are already a few minutes late.”Dance of what? "I refuse to go. I don't want to meet any
Roxanne hates this, it was like there was something new everyday and she could never get used to it. After breakfast, they were taken out to an open field, large enough to contain thousands of people and it was surrounded by nothing but trees; no building in sight. When Alpha Oizys announced their training yesterday at breakfast, Roxie never thought it would be this. It was like standing in the middle of a crowd and she was the mole. Roxie pouts realizing all the girls were talking among themselves while she stands at the corner, feeling out like an outcast.“Ladies,” finally, they were being addressed by Kaizen who showed up from nowhere and stood in front of them. From what Roxanne learned from Bloom, there were five Sages; Kaizen, Ciel, Rune, Jaris and Azriel, three of which were her handsome kidnappers, Roxie felt the training wouldn't be so bad.“I officially welcome you to your first training,” Kaizen started with a pair of cold and unwavering crimson eyes. “We won't be doing mu
Roxanne had not had a moment of rest since the very day she stepped into Blood Moon Pack, there was always one thing or the other and this was only the third day, she felt like crawling her skin and pulling out every strand of hair on her head in frustration.Roxie stared at Ciel with a drowsy gaze. She swore she had only slept for an hour before the door of her bedroom burst open, waking her up with a startled jerk to find the snow-like male storming in like he owned the space. “What now?” She stared at him with a blurry gaze and hair sticking in various places.Ciel swallowed back his smile and let out with a clear throat. “Come with me,”He didn't give room for argument or protest, he was already heading towards the door. Roxie swore she was going to die before her time. With a grunt, she got off the bed and shadowed him in her pajamas.Roxie was half asleep, she didn't realize when they stepped out of the pack house. From what she learned from Bloom and Kaizen. The pack house whe
Roxanne was enervated by the continuous training; she hadn't recovered from the last training yet, it felt like all her joints had been dislocated and there she was again, with the other girls in the same large, open field. However, today's lesson seemed to be different. Roxie looked at the many weapons laid out before them. Her eyes went to Kaizen, he wasn't expecting them to fight with those weapons, was he? He couldn't be that drop-dead gorgeous and psychotic at the same time? Roxie was getting terrified now.“Today's lesson is going to be different from the last one; hunting,” Kaizen announced and Roxie had never felt so relieved in her entire life and at the same time, filled with dread and catastrophe-phobia. Hunting?! She knew nothing about hunting!“The purpose of hunting showcases your skills, intelligence, and endurance as hunters. It also pinpoints your strategic thinking, your ability to track and stalk your prey. Hunting also showcases your mastery of any weapon of your
The next day, Roxanne found herself in a class for the next lesson. She could only sigh in relief knowing she wasn't wrestling or hunting; those two lessons had been nothing but disastrous.“Over here!” Isleen and Willow waved her over to the middle of the classroom room where they were seated. Roxie passed the other girls and then sat between them.Roxie scanned around the room, finding nothing out of the ordinary; just a normal classroom located at the top floor of the pack house with a marker board, a teacher's desk and a shelf of books. What the heck were they going to learn now? History? She thought being kidnapped from her old life meant she had stopped schooling.“Have any idea what we are going to learn today?'' She looked at Willow and Isleen but they shook their heads but looked excited. Roxie decided to look forward to the lesson.Five minutes later, Roxie saw a familiar face walking into the classroom with a pair of reading glasses at the bridge of his nose.“Violet eyes!”
Roxanne had decided to go with the wind and see where it would land her. She had decided to learn and accept that this was now her fate and she couldn't escape with the knowledge she had—she wouldn't make it before she would get caught. She'd decided to go with whatever they say and escape when the opportunity struck—she only hoped her family would stop worrying, wishing there was a way to tell them she was alright.Learning meant having extra training and there Roxie was, dressed in a pair of black leggings and a tank top, her feet were bare and her black hair held up in a messy tail and in front of her was Kaizen in a red sweatshirt that matched his eyes and joggers and surrounded them were padded walls, and high-impact, shock-absorbing flooring. The pack house contained everything.Roxie shamelessly roamed her eyes over Kaizen. He looked good in sweatshirt and his white hair; she had the urge to brush her fingers through his locks. She shamelessly licked her lips, realizing he was
Roxanne felt like the world was crashing as the whip went across Kaizen's back more times she suddenly lost count.Kaizen fell to his knee at the impact of the whip; blood ran from the corner of his mouth while the whip tore through the clothes on his back and just through his skin.Roxie saw red. Her jaw tightened and her hands clenched into fists. From the corner of her eyes, she noticed that Revma was looking restless and pained as she watched the scene, while the rest of the crowd either had concerned looks or looks of pure glee like the likes of Lucien and Maverick, smirking as if they are watching their favorite. Roxie almost left her seat but Willow held her by the arm and she shit her eyes, trying hard to stop herself from making things worse than they were, but when the sound of Kaizen's pained cry reached her ear, Roxie's eyes flew open and she had enough.“STOP!” She roared and everywhere went silence, heads reeling to her as the only thing that could suddenly be heard was
Roxanne had been head in the clouds lately. It'd been three days since Revna came to her room, revealing things that were unbelievable yet believable; Roxie was only finding it difficult to question Kaizen.Roxie had always wondered why Alpha Oizys wanted her to win so badly and how he was so sure she would make the perfect champion when she had lived her whole life believing she was human. The only thing that got stuck in her head was the fact that her father was killed by Oizys and her mother was alive but imprisoned. Nothing made sense. If Kaizen was trying to protect her, why would he join his father in lying to her?“Hey, are you okay?”A jab on her side brought her back to reality, and the real world that welcomed her was a large feast. The grand hall was bustling with people seated at large tables, filled with varieties of food, clanking their cutlery on their plates, laughing, and chatting while a live band played on the stage. Roxie had barely touched the food on her plate, p
Roxanne assumed she understood Revna, but the redhead had proven to be a challenging riddle to unravel. She thought they were friends, but Revna was playing a game of hot and cold.“What are you doing here?” As soon as Roxie walked into her room, her brown gaze fell on Revna, who was sitting in her bed with arms arched over her chest.“I'd like us to talk.”“About what?”Revna's lips curled into a scowl. “About why you are really here in Blood Moon Pack; why Alpha Oizys brought you back, what he intends to use you for, and why the Sages are hell-bent on protecting you from him. Take it as a little help from a friend and a sister-in-law that cares.”Roxie would have believed her if the look in her eyes were anything but good, but Roxie was going to indulge her. One thing she had learned while being in this pack was that everyone had a scheme up their sleeves.“Tell me then,” Her eyes glinted as she stood up from the bed and approached Roxie. "How would you feel if you discovered your
"How dare you!”Kaizen's face fell to the side as the palm of his father's hand struck his face. If Kaizen had been a normal wolf, the presence of alpha pheromones in the room would have been his doom. He lifted his head and stared at his father, whose eyes were brimming with rage and hostility, while Lucien stood in the corner, an ass-eating grin on his face. Kaizen didn't need to be a genius to figure out what was going on. He knew.“As a Sage, you think I won't banish you because you are my son? Here I thought Lucien was the one who lusted after Roxanne. How could you be involved with a champion!" Kaizen didn't know how Lucien found out, but he was glad it wasn't Rune; things wouldn't have looked pretty.“I do not have an intimate relationship with a champion.” He stared at the floor and clinched his teeth to contain his rage.“Oh brother, do you deny?” With a sarcastic and heckling look, Lucien teased. Kaizen had the impulse to punch him across the face.“I overheard you and you
Roxanne was getting frustrated. She couldn't shift into her wolf no matter how much she strived. It was beginning to get on her nerves. With an irked sigh, she slumped against a tree in the forest after what felt like the hundredth try. She needed a break and water; the sun was scorching hot.The Sages stood in front of her with their arms crossed over their chests, sporting unimpressed looks.“What are we not doing right?” Azriel tilted his head and then looked at Jarvis. “Is she ever going to shift?”Roxie looked at Jarvis. He had always been a quiet one; most of the time, he looked like he was in pain. She studied him—his eyes didn't speak, but a smile curled on his face.“That depends on her.”“No, it doesn't depend on me. I can hear her speak in my head; she won't shut up abou—” She immediately cut herself off as she looked at Kaizen, who raised a challenging brow, daring her to complete the sentence. Roxie resisted the urge to show him a middle finger. “She won't keep quiet, but
“We have guests, and you two dare to fight like little children!” Alpha Oizys' voice thundered throughout his office as he glared daggers toward his sons, who stood before him. Lucien wiped his bloody lip with a thumb which, for some reason, had refused to heal. He glanced at Kaizen—the white-haired male was still fuming with rage. “He came at me. I was only trying to have some fun.” Kaizen faced him, his hands clenched into tight fists that he felt like throwing against Lucien’s face. “You call attempted rape fun? I didn’t think you were that twisted, Lucien.” He could barely contain his rage, as it was evident in his voice and his crimson eyes, which looked like there was a fire catching in them. “What is it to you? She’s not your mate, is she?” the pig barked. “As a Sage, I will not stand by and watch any of the champions get molested by you or anyone. Your behavior will not go unpunished.” Lucien let out a laugh that was loud and unrestrained, and his wicked eyes took a few l
After what felt like an eternity of training, it was finally time for the champions to showcase what they have learned from the five Sages to the packs. The arena was a massive circle, it was surrounded by high stone walls with rows of seats stacked in layers, where the crowd watched eagerly.Roxanne and the other champions stood in a line, all dressed in a dark-gray tunic that reached their mid-thigh, with leather straps across their shoulders and waists. Their slim pants tucked into knee-high boots and leather bracers on their wrists, and their hair was pulled back tightly, with arrows on their back and their bow at their side. They stood in the middle of the large arena, in front of Alpha Oizys who sat on a high seat, his gaze sharp and calculating as he watched all their faces while the Sages stood at the side, watching. Everyone was watching.“Are you nervous?” Willow whispered.“Are you nervous?” Roxie whispered back; she didn't know what to feel or expect. She wasn't even thinki
Roxanne was in a bad mood. Kaizen's rejection after that kiss stung her heart so hard she felt like punching through a wall till it cracked. He had brought her back to the pack house as if he couldn't wait to get rid of her. Roxie had never been so insulted her whole life by one person repeatedly. If she wasn't so scared of hurting his pretty face, she would have slammed it against the nearest wall and made sure it hurt. But still, slowly she reached out and touched her lips, she felt a shiver travel down her spine as she recalled the way he kissed her. They way he held and squeezed her waist like he was addicted to the way she fitted against him. The intensity of the kiss made the butterflies in her stomach dance in rejoice knowing she had finally be gotten to kiss him and fuck! He tastes heavenly. That kiss was the best thing she had ever had in her life and she craved for more, only if Kaizen hadn't been such a bastard and broke her heart further when he broke the kiss, he was cru
Roxanne was in the forest with Kaizen; as much as she didn’t wish to see the male at the moment, she had to learn how to shift into her wolf form and get it over with. The evening sun dipped on the leaves of the forest, casting a glow over the clearing of the forest where she stood, her breathing unsteady."Focus," Kiazen’s voice came behind her, firm but calm. She almost flinched at the closeness. When did he get behind her? How creepy, she thought, trying not to feel the warmth of his body that was close to hers. "Feel the shift; let it take over."She cleared her throat and closed her eyes. She reached deep within herself to find that spark but she was getting distracted. Kaizen was too close and his scent puncturing through her nostrils wasn’t helping. Why did he have to be that close? She reeled her head to look at him. “Can you please move back a little? I need to concentrate.” She didn’t want to boost his ego by saying he was alluring and distracting but she just wanted to get
