>Maya
I woke up only to find myself on my bed. A blanket carefully placed over me and the curtains drawn to prevent the sunlight from coming in. It would look like a normal scene except that I was feeling anxious.
There was this strange feeling persisting inside me like I was missing something.
I tried recalling the events from yesterday night. I remembered everything clearly till the part when we reached the forest and found Yohan. Everything past that was hazy, memories were there but it was hard getting a clear image.
I had to try extra hard to piece them together but even after stressing my mind so much I only got to the part where I confessed and slumped against Yohan’s shoulder. Beyond that, I remembered nothing.

>>MayaStrange. There was this strange feeling swirling inside me as I stared at my ring finger. It felt empty. Maybe because I had been wearing it for seven years now, not having it on was leaving a weird sensation behind.“Hey. Are you okay? You look a little pale.” Ruda asked.“Was I wearing the ring when I entered the room?” I asked as I kept my eyes on the finger.“No. I don’t think so.” He answered, “Is the ring that important? I know you’ve always had it on but why are you this worried?”
>YohanMaya came home when I was busy on the call with a client. She paused for a second then came and sat on the sofa beside me.I smiled at her and she waved back but I could tell she was a bit troubled.I finished the call and looked at her, “You seem like you want to ask me something.”“Ah! Yeah…I can’t seem to find my ring. Have you seen it anywhere?”I knew it. It must be bugging her since the ring had magic in it and no longer having it on might tug on her memories.I shook my head, “No I haven’t. Was it important?”
> QuincyI stood in the outer corridor staring at the will o wisps while I waited for a certain mutt. It was quite late but I knew he’d be here. That mutt went as far as taking Maya’s ring off that I worked on for years and made sure the magic in it didn’t run out.Yet as soon as she started living with him a lot of magic was used up to seal her memories. She’s too far away so I wasn’t able to tell immediately that the ring was taken off since the magic in it depleted. But now since she’s actually ‘lost’ it if anything happens again it can trigger the hidden memories and she might remember the missing incidents.Well, to get the ring back the only way is t
>Yohan Lies. He’s lying. Maybe he’s been lying to me from the start. Does he really think I’ll believe his words? Why did I even think he’s speaking the truth? He’s a vampire. We’re arch nemesis. “You think I’m lying.” Quincy went and sat down on the couch in the living room, “Of course you wouldn’t believe me but-” “Don’t!” I cut his words as I remained standing, “Whatever bullshit you’re about to sprout I’m not gonna buy it.” I came here determined to beat the shit out of him but that might just not be possible. First, he has no intention of fighting me. There is not an ounce of fighting spirit coming from him. He didn’t even flinch before, when I pounced on him. It wasn’t only because he had no intention of fighting. It was also because he was confident I won’t be able to hurt him. Second, if he did decide to have a go at me it would turn out bad. I don’t believe any of his words but I know he’s strong. He’s a pure born and possesses power of two different races. If we fough
>MayaI grabbed my clothes and some light makeup then walked out of the room to go to the bathroom.A breakfast date had always been one of my wishes, although it was something I day-dreamed about happening in the far future when I had my own job and was independent and all but still I couldn’t be more happier about it happening now since it was with Yohan.I don’t know if it’s because he’s so gentle with me, or if it’s because he seems like a person who’ll support me or maybe because he’s so handsome or perhaps it’s because he looks out for me and puts effort just for me, or maybe it’s just his smile or the texture of his hair or the softness that oozes out when he says my name. I don’t know what the reason is, maybe it’s all of
>YohanI took Maya back to her room and laid her down on the bed. This was bad. I had no idea what had happened but I could tell whatever was happening was bad.I sat on the edge of the bed and looked at her.Why did she suddenly get a headache? A headache so bad she fainted. There were two things I could think of.One, either it's got something to do with Quincy’s blood.Or Two, she suddenly remembered something that was sealed off. I can understand that opening a memory that was supposed to be locked can be painful but not like this. It’s not supposed to give you any physical pain.
>Quincelet“You met him!” My mother yelled at me while I stood in the forest near the Dryad. The portal to this world and the magic realm was open and I talked to her through that, “How?” She was astonished, “You didn’t tell me you knew him!”“Why are you so excited? He’s not yours.” The mist surrounded the Dryad, so the portal could only be seen if you’re standing right infront of it.“We’re still related!” She looked at me and I looked back at her unamused, “How’d you meet him? Does this mean he’s no longer living with the pack?”“Nena’s older sister is his mate. I met him through her. I had to lure him out but it worked.”“Oh good! Very good!” She looked so excited, she looked like a kid.I sighed, “But that doesn’t even matter; he doesn’t know anything.”“You could have told him! You met him after all!” “He didn’t listen, I did try.”“What! Why?”“Moreover I noticed he was wearing an earring.”“An earring?”“Yes, I’m guessing it’s what's keeping his magical powers sealed. It was
>YohanMaya’s been having nightmares every night but still can’t remember anything. My only deduction was the logical part of her was still making her forget. Afterall, her memories were sealed for seven years, so of course it’ll take some time for her to actually remember.Unless.I sighed.Unless, she comes in contact with another trigger. It took me a lot of courage to come to the decision to let things be. In fact it takes the same amount of courage every single day since she wakes up every morning scared as hell. Seeing her hurt, hurts me.I’m worried about her but if I give her the ring back there would be no point of all of this. We’ll go back to point zero. But I’m glad, when she’s finally up she gets back to normal. The rest of the day is peaceful and normal but I can’t help but feel a bit guilty. It’s my choice after all.I sighed. Honestly, I might have given the ring back but after seeing what triggered her memories I just can’t. I can’t shake off the feeling that somethin
>>Maya “And that’s how after a long wait, Quincey and I got married and became the Queen and King of the dark realm.” Nena finished her long love story, “We got married in the human world. It was a small event with very few close guests.” She smiled, “And yes, I invited my three fake boyfriends too.” She took a deep breath, “That was the last I saw of them.” She grinned, “And then we moved to the Vampire capital and years passed by.” “Woah…” I was shocked, “That was a lot to take in.”I definitely didn't think you’d turn out to be such a manipulative person.” It was unbelievable really. She chuckled, “Everything is allowed in love and war Ma,” She had a mischievous look on her face, “And look at us, we were two orphans whose parents were killed unjustly.” Her smile turned a little sad, “And now we’re Queens.” I smiled back, “I guess fate isn’t that bad.” She shrugged, “I’m happy now so I guess.” She smiled, “My time with Quincey has been amazing!” “How much more time before you gi
>>Quincy“What if some other Vampire tries to harm her?” I asked the king, my father and Luci. We four were present in the King’s audience chamber and we're going through some stuff, “There is always a chance someone could try something because she’s still a human. It’s going to take time for her blood mate powers to show.” I was making a point here, solely for Nena’s sake. Still being a man who has claim to the throne meant there was a chance someone might disagree of Nena and try to harm her.“Boy, the thing is, even if you revoke all your rights officially, there is still a chance it might happen.” The king made his point, “Because no matter what, you can’t fight the blood that runs in your veins.” He was right. No matter what effort I did here, it won’t change the fact that I was part of the royal bloodline. I sighed and looked down in defeat. What now? If not this, then what can I do?The king cleared his throat and made me look at him again, “Well you just need to be in a posi
>>Quincey“So none of you ever liked her?” I asked the boys while we all sat in the lounge of my house. I was sitting on one side and the three of them were side by side on the other.“Nope,” They all replied as they shook their heads in unison.“You want me to believe that?” I had my arms folded.“We only did it because she was helping us out. It was mutual help.” Chris said, “We had a deal between ourselves.”“Helping you guys out?” “She’s a pretend girlfriend for us because women don’t stop chasing rich men, especially when they’re single.” Sam said, “Nena is the perfect person for that role since she beats the shit out of people too.”I raised my brows as I frowned. It made sense, there were a number of times she came home and I could tell right away she had a fight with someone. So this was the reason why.“Don’t worry,” Chris said after he noticed the visible discontent on my face, “We just need her for another semester and then our deal ends.” He smiled, “We really don’t have
>>NenaThe world started getting blurred. Like a dancing mirage. The dark magic began to consume me and I started seeing red. A stream of liquid started coming out of my eyes that was not water.AH…No wonder Quincey told me I’d never survive here. I feel like I’m being consumed. It’s like there is a furnace in my body that’s steadily heating up and it’ll keep heating up till there is nothing left of me. Till all of me is burned and not even my soul survives.I felt like I was fading away with the increasing pain, “Nena!!” A voice reached me, “Nena!” I looked to my side and saw Quincey running towards me. He slid down next to me and brought me into his embrace, “What the hell are you doing here!!!” He yelled at me, “Why the hell aren’t you doing anything??” He looked at his father and uncle.“She refused to leave.” Daddy said, “I tried.” He raised his hands up in defense, “I really did.”The king nodded, “She’s too stubborn.” He said, “This is why we sent Luci to get you.”Wow, these
>>Nena“What happened to the previous one?” I was very curious now even though my head was starting to hurt, “Who was that human?”The king looked at Alister and I followed his gaze. Alister hesitated a little, then sighed, “It happened two hundred years ago,” He started a story, “Two hundred years back humans were still thinking of us as monsters.” He nodded sadly, “And Quincey grew fond of a human that once helped him but that same human killed herself when she found out what she got caught up in.”“What?” I shook my head, “What happened?”The two royal bloods looked at each other, “Let me tell you a short story about how Quincey grew a little distant from relationships.” Alister gestured to Luci to do something and Luci left while Alister came and sat down in front of me.“Are you alright?” He asked me.I shook my head, “I feel like a fever is rising…”“It’ll get worse from here.” Alister patted my head, “So I’ll give you the major details of what happened.”“Alright,” I nodded. He
>>NenaThe dark continent gave the vibe of a dark fantasy setting. It was clearly daylight but the sky was covered with dark clouds continuously and forever so no sun rays made it down to the land. The roads were old, looked like the ones the Romans made centuries ago but all the houses were big, like mansions. The market place was busy but not bustling. It looked like there were a limited number of people there.“I thought there would be more people here.” I asked Luci while he and I walked towards the Palace.“Many vampires go to the human world nowadays.” The Palace was in view, “The human realm has a lot of entertainment after all.”“Why not just bring it here?” I asked.“The magic realm doesn’t allow it.” I started seeing some royal guards.“It doesn’t allow it?”“Even if you try to bring it here, the portal which we cross through throws it out before you enter the magic space.”“Why though?”“To preserve the magic.”“Does technology ruin it or something?”“I guess you can say th
>>Quincey“Quincey stop!!” Luci hugged me from behind frantically to stop me, “Humans can’t take magic this strong!!” He head butted my back, “Idiot! What if someone dies?” His words made me freeze and he loosened up, “What if Nena dies?” He moved to look at my face that was filled with horror. My chest tightened and my brain went blank for a moment. No!! I looked at Nena who was unconscious on the floor.Oh hell…I ran to her, “Hey,” I embraced her in my arms, “Hey wake up,” I shook her a little but she was blacked out. Luci came and sat beside me, “Nena…?” I felt like my world was falling apart, “Nena, are you okay?” There was no response. Her body seemed lifeless with no reaction at all.Shit…Oh shit!!“Nena!” I check her temperature but my body is already cold. I couldn’t tell if she was okay like that or not because to me, a fresh corpse is warm too.Damnit!!I had never been so nervous in my life. I felt so shattered, so broken and so ashamed! What have I done? This is my faul
>>NenaSam stood his ground, “You got no say in this.” He said, “This is her decision.” He looked at me and all the attention was on me all of the sudden.Oh shit!Having so many eyes on me all of the sudden made me flinch but I got myself under control..I rolled my eyes and looked at Chris, “Where’s the food?”He was shaken up by what was happening but still managed to answer me, “It’ll be here soon.” He said, “Let’s set the table up.”“Sure,” I stood up and went to grab Nathan and Sam’s hand to get them away from Quincey. Luci, on the other hand, walked over to Quincy to calm him down. They exchanged a few words and a few times in between they glanced at me while my boy grabbed the cutlery to put on the table.>>SamI took a deep breath and looked at Quincey who was consciously glaring at me.This won’t do.I walked over to him while he sat in the lounge and folded my arms as I stood in front of him.“Don’t look at me like that.” He raised his head to glare at me some more and I ro
>>NenaLuciel should be doing what he was asked.I hope it riles Quincey enough for him to take action. I hope he does a good job.I was sitting at the dinner table at Chris’s apartment. He lives independently that’s why we had ordered out and our pizza was going to be here anytime now.“What do you think?” Chris brought the plates and glasses, “About Luciel?” He placed the things on the table and sat down on the chair in front of me.“I don’t know,” I had my arms folded, “I just got to know him but,” There was something bothering me, “I feel like there is more to him than he shows.” I looked at Chris, “Get what I mean?”“You’re saying he’s hiding behind a fool’s mask?” He raised his brows at me.I nodded, “Yea,” I looked around aimlessly, “But it seems like he’s doing that for no deeper meaning.” I looked back at Chris, “Maybe just for fun?”“Mmhmm,” He looked at his phone when he received a text, “For now, let’s hope he does a good job.”“I feel like he will.” I leaned on the table.
