Blood Awakening Chapter 7: X
Maridelle stayed inside his chamber for few hours, sitting on a couch. She in front of him like a student in front of principal. There was no conversation between them. She desired to initiate a discourse to break the ice, however, her fright of blurting informations ceased her. So instead of talking, she focused her eyes on the details of his chamber. It is huge with a king size bed near the window on the east side. Over it is a canopy of white thin fabric. Paintings she considered of thousands ages hung on the wall. There is a grand chandelier right in the center of the ceiling. On the left corner situated a table, his working table. There are fine furniture with materials she thought expensive. There is also a balcony where the fresh air freely enters the room. There was nothing much to note. It is simple but huge and elegant.“Are you done?” Lachlan finally talked.“Done what?”Lachlan stared at her. “I am asking if you are done watching what's in my room.”“Oh, I'm sorry. It just that...uhmm... I've been here for hours literally doing nothing except from sitting.”“Got a problem with that? Let me remind you I'm the Alpha. I got the say and you don't.” His stern voice engulfed the room. She shouldn't complain to an Alpha.Maridelle's feeling the ambiance heated. “No, that is not what I meant. I'm just wondering why I'm here,” she said shyly. The alpha must have misinterpreted her answer.“You'll soon know.”If she is bored or bothered, Lachlan bet he got it triple times. He is used to be inside the room alone or with his beta, Mellow. But this time having Maridelle with him is a source of discomfort. Maridelle and him alone inside a chamber with a king size bed. Great. Just a perfect combination to stir his composure.“I used this for dual purpose,” he said upon realizing his a little harsh to her. “This is where I work and I got a lot of overtime so I need a bed to fall into.”That's awkward. Maridelle know he is trying to free theirselves from the awkward situation, but mentioning about the bed is not a good idea. She nodded in response not wanting to talk anymore; just complying with Lily's command: less interaction as possible with the alpha.Lachlan felt it. He made her uneasy. There are a lot in the room to talk about like the paintings or the grand chandelier. However, he mentioned about the bed. It was not a good topic at all; he agrees. He is losing his temper. Mellow is the kind of beta who always do a job right away so the delay is diminishing his patience. The instance Lachlan was told about the information, he immediately allotted time to see both of them. Confirmation first before punishment. If everything is true, he cannot promise to take it easy on them. They will face the consequence they deserve. The beast within him had suddenly awoken. X, as he call his wolf, had growled from his consciousnesses.“Hello, X. I'll promise you a run after I sort things out,” he said on his mind. It's been a long time since the last day they enjoyed their selves on the woods.“Not now,” he added. Something's wrong with his wolf. It suddenly wanted to shift, to take over him.“Stop! I said not now, X,” his command is filled with authority, but to X, it seemed nothing.“What's wrong?” Maridelle innocently asked. She thought her silence angered the Alpha. His hand is curled into a fist. He seemed talking to something.“Nothing,” Lachlan answered. Maridelle had caught him acting weird. But it was his wolf; it is fighting him.Without any notice the door opened; Lily came rushing in. Lachlan smirked beholding such act. It begins now.“Maridelle, are you alright?” Lily worriedly said as she neared her.“I did not harm her,” Lachlan interrupted. “Beta Mellow, start reporting.”“As you wish, Alpha.”The three of them faces Lachlan. Mellow is in front while Lily and Maridelle are behind him. Lily's holding Maridelle's hand.“Few weeks ago, almost a month actually. A brutal killing of three people was reported,” Mellow started. “The culprit was unknown, but it was clear that it must have been a vampire since the victims' blood were totally drained.”Lily's grip on Maridelle's hand tightened. She feels her hand getting cold. Cold sweats trickled on their backs. They know where this is going.“So an alliance was made to address the conflict. We had a hard time looking for the culprit. He or she is really good at hiding. But now, we know who it was,” Mellow continued. He glances on Lily and Maridelle whose muscles, he supposed, stiffened.“Do you know about this, don't you?” His question is directed to Lily. However, Lily knew Lachlan got his answer already.Lily tried shifting. It was no use for Mellow alone can handle her, but she is holding on the tiniest hope Maridelle could at least have the chance to escape. To protect her is the priority.“Not fast,” said the Alpha.Mellow had prevented her before she can fully shift.“Now, it's confirmed. We'll be submitting you to the alliance. I don't need more evidence. I am certain of your deceit and sin.”“NO! You don't understand the situation, Alpha! Don't bring us to the alliance,” Lily screamed.A loud bang echoed. Lachlan's fist hit the table. He is fuming because of Lily. “How dare you say that! I understand everything. Maridelle no matter how angelic her face is, killed innocent people. You brought in my pack a murderer. Not just a normal murderer but a vampire. That is clearly a betrayal to your race! And now what she did had fueled an insurgency. That could mean war! Which part did I not understand, Lily?”“I didn't mean to go here. Just let us leave. Everything will more complicated if you won't let us. Alpha Lachlan, please,” Lily begged.“Leave and then what? Give your niece a chance to kill? Come on, Lily. I won't be doing that.” Lachlan faces Mellow. “As for their deceit, Mellow you know what to do.” He is adamant.“Aunt Lily has nothing to do with this. It's all me. I did it. Let her leave,” Maridelle begged on her knees, tears pattering on the floor.Lachlan's eyes are glued to Maridelle. She is the same person he considered a true angel of not only in face but of deed in a short span of time. He started to assume she has put an act. But caving into her plea is against his duty. Lily, as he deemed her, is an accomplice.“The decision is final.”Maridelle rose from kneeling. Seeing her Aunt Lily trying to escape Mellow's grip squeezes her heart. She just wish she can be brutal like the way she was the night when it started everything. If she could then it could save them. It might but she doesn't know how. She haven't learned the ways of her parents' race.“Punis—”The alpha was not able to finish his command. X, his wolf, is violently taking over him. Everything that is covering Lachlan ripped. Shreds of fabric are scattered on the floor. The next thing he knew he had shifted. Then his wolf towering over Maridelle, stared at her.•••feedbacks are highly appreciated!•••Blood Awakening Chapter 8: Against The Alpha's Wolf“Is X okay?” Mellow got confused about X's behavior. Usually the wolf won't come out without a summon from Lachlan. But what he had witnessed, X has become aggressive to shift.“Yes, I got him controlled. He just needed a run,” Lachlan thriftily answered. But in the back of his mind, he knows it was not a simple rebellion to force him to give X a run in the woods. He was not supposed to shift in front of Maridelle. He has to find it out. However, he have bigger priority.“And them?” He is referring to Maridelle and Lily.“Detained in the dungeon. Alpha, I admit I cannot believe it. A murderer was not in her appearance.” Mellow shook his head. “And Lily was one of our council, do you think they're not here to hide? She's smart and she knows for sure that the Caruso pack isn't safe given their situation.”“I was thinking of that too. There are many loopholes in the story. The details are not sufficient. This is very frustrating.”Lachl
Blood Awakening Chapter 9: Save Her AlphaIf only it is visible, Lachlan's nose would be seen puffing of smoke. “And you expect me to believe that?!” Lachlan punched and kicked the brick wall repeatedly. There was not even a minute wasted for them to act after a single unnamed enemy had penetrated their territory. It's quite impossible to learn that had happened. They never put their securities down; to think a valuable prisoner was taken out of their range is another thing to get angry. However, hours of questioning Lily yield nothing. “I told you the truth! I don't know who it was,” Lily faintly said. She barely had her strength back from the torture she received from the twins. “Save her, Aplha. I beg you.”Lachlan wanted to disagree and cast every anger he had on his body to Lily. No one needs saving. Maridelle as presented with every facts they had on hand, doesn't need saving. She started the chaos; had a rebellion fueled because of the brutality she did to the three innocent
Blood Awakening Chapter 10: The Hell Maridelle woke up with her hands immediately massaging on her temple. It's throbbing like hell. Her vision is a bit blurry.“Shit!”“Oh, hey there, princess.”“Who are you?! Why I am here? Are you with the alliance?”She focused her vision to the person sitting with legs crossed before her. The moment her eyes adjusted to the place, her eyes grow wide in surprise. He rose from his seat located in front of the bed she is sitting.“Oh, the alliance made to catch you. How brilliant that is. Actually, that is an achievement. For a long time, the stupid government did not do such act to address a vampire killing.” He took steps and raised her chin to level his eyes. He stared at her orbs trying to figure out if the possibilities he thought were at high chance.“You must be too special to do that,” he murmured.Maridelle cannot believe the sight. But she has to confirm it. His eyes. It is only his eyes that looked familiar. His voice, she remember it c
Blood Awakening Chapter 11: In the Arms of the Alpha They had a stop at a forest clearing surrounded by large trees and thick shrubs. Definitely, their location is suitable to have a safe place to spend the night. A fortnight had passed since Lachlan took a dozen wolf guard and his Beta to search for Maridelle. Unfortunately, there was nothing fruitful.“Alpha...”“What is it, Beta Mellow?”“I'm afraid we have completely lost her.”“We will not stop searching till we found her. We will do whatever it takes.” He sighed. “She could be my mate.”Beta Mellow got silenced.“I'll take X in a run. Tell the wolves to secure the place and then they can have their rest. You should rest as well, Beta Mellow. It has been a tiring day.”After the command, Lachlan shifted. On his four feet, running is a relaxation. The wind combs his brown furs as it gracefully dances with its beats. It tickles but refreshing. His paws pounded on the forest floor and the fallen twigs snapped. He sprinted for seve
Blood Awakening Chapter 12: In the Woods With YouConfusion is showed on her face. His back is facing her with hands ready.“What are you doing?”“I'm giving you a piggy back ride, obviously,” he said without turning his face to her.The other wolves had travelled on their wolf form. By now, they had already arrived at the pack house. But Lachlan stayed close to his mate.“No need. I'm fine.”“Let me remind you that it was just four days since I rescued you. You are not well.”“Well, thank you, Alpha, but... I'm fine.”“You are slowing us. We could have reached the pack house sooner if only you agreed to take a ride on any on our wolf form or on my wolf.”She bit her lower lip. He is right. She has slowed them and what he said pierces her conscience. But he is the Alpha and she will feel embarrassed to ride on his wolf.“F-fine,” she muttered.“Hey, louder. I cannot hear you.”“I said fine. I'll accept your piggyback ride offer, just this time.”Lachlan smirked. “Then go ride on my ba
Blood Awakening Chapter 13: Safe in His ArmsMaridelle followed Lachlan. He is following a steep trail.“Where are the others?”Last night they camped in the woods. The next morning she found herself nuzzled on his muscular chest; it was embarrassing, but as she roamed her eyes, no one else is there. Now, it is her and Lachlan alone in the woods walking towards a place she certainly do not know where.“I told beta Mellow they can go ahead of us. They left last night.”Lachlan simply answered her while pushing aside the branches on their way.“Is that what you told Beta Mellow yesterday?”“Yes, Beta Mellow have left a lot of work. He needs to be there fast,” he answered thriftily. He know she has a lot of questions on her mind. He can give a definite answer all at once, but talking to her became his new favorite. Let her ask.“And I want to spend time with you,” he face
Blood Awakening Chapter 14: Sweet spotMorning came in just a snap of fingers. Maridelle woke up with a pair of warm arms around her waist. She checked who it was just to find Lachlan cuddling her. Immediately, she checked if he got some clothes on. Maridelle cannot bear the thought of him sleeping beside her naked. For a moment, hot blood pooled on her cheeks.Slowly, with courage, she took peek under the blanket. It's a relief to see that he is wearing clothes. The landlady must have left it outside their room for him.She stared at him trying to familiarize every inch of his face; how he looks like when he is indulging himself in slumber; how peaceful and stress-free he is while sleeping. The back of her hand traces his face. She smiled. So, that is how it feels waking up right next with someone you could love, hugging you lovingly. A moment later, Lachlan slowly moves. She abruptly closed her eyes trying to pretend asleep. However, the image of his ha
Blood Awakening Chapter 15: A Deal“Few more laps, Mari!” Lachlan shouted with full authority.“I've been doing this for hours! Can't I stop?”“I'll consider that as a complain. Two more laps!”Two weeks had past after they had encountered Nyx. Lachlan, who is anticipating more circumstances like that had decided to train Maridelle for her own good. She needs it for her own safety. He will not be there with her always. He needs to prepare her for a battle. If it requires to be strict to be able to do that, he wouldn't take on two minds. They are at one of Lachlan's favorites training ground. This place is situated in the center of the mountain. A cabin is erected in the center of a forest clearing where huge trees surrounds. There's a brook few meters below where they can feed themselves on fish and have clean potable water to drink. But the best thing in this place is its terrain is suitable for tr

Days after the bloody encounter of the two opposing sides, the storm has subsided; the enemies has been defeated and although, the damage has been done so greatly, Alpha Lachlan and Maridelle as well as the Alliance has almost recovered from their wounds and from the effects of the encounter. They had returned to their respective abodes and pack, enjoying their triumph.“How are you?” Maridelle said as she neared Alpha Lachlan who has been looking at a distance in the balcony of his chamber. His thoughts are wandering along the memories of the yester days events. All the hardships that they have been through, the enduring, the loses, and the pain; the smiles, the tears, the camaraderie, and betrayal. He tilted his head to see who it was; his lips curved upwards upon seeing Maridelle. Her face is bruised and she's wearing a white cardigan to conceal the rest of her wounds and bruises. However, her countenance belies her appearance. Her aura is brighter than ever. Alpha Lachlan slipped
All of Vamoire’s power is on both of her hands that is pinning Maridelle’s head on the ground. “Die!” Her hands are trembling, seething. But to Maridelle, she had completely forgotten about her own fight. Vamoire notices it and wonderingly followed Maridelle’s stare. She chuckled devilishly upon knowing the reason. “I had changed my mind. I’ll postpone your death a little longer.” She pulled Maridelle’s hair, positioned it better to face the merciful situation that Alpha Lachlan is in and ruthlessly uttered near her ear, “That wolf that you love so dearly is going to die before your eyes. I’ll make sure you’ll see how Jek will tear him to pieces. Then the demise of your companions will be next.” She takes delight on the images of their enemies’ bodies lying lifeless before them. “Then I will kill you.”Vamoire has painted the scene so vivid that the next time Maridelle lifted the lids of her eyes, the red fiery color of its orbs were disclosed. This time those eyes are tinted with th
Nyx has received the report and she was quick to disseminate it. As what she has received, everyone especially his twin brother was informed that Hodor’s forces has been accumulated and is advancing towards one common location, the City of Hilwood. They need to get there first before them. “I can feel the end,” Lucia murmured in nervous breathing. Beside her is Alpha Lachlan who is also busy preparing his double-edged sword. “Hodor’s end. Let’s make that certain,” he suddenly replied. Lucia stopped strapping the special guns that are able to fight against vampires on her side. “How sure are you about that, Alpha?” she whispered to him, making it sure that it is only his ears that is going to hear her. Around them is a bunch of busy warriors whose spirits are being awoken in the last minute; still unprepared to fight even though a scarce amount of time was given, but it feels like it was only meant for them to have a stretching and not the whole exercise. Lucia is beign careful not
One vial of Maridelle’s blood is resting on Hodor’s hand. He took it from his pocket awhile ago. Actually it had never left the comfort of his pocket since the time he took one from Vamoire’s laboratory. His palm encloses the vial as the door opens. “Tell me some good news.”There is a wide grin forming on Vamoire’s visage. She pranced along the aisle, closer to Hodor’s throne. “Everything is doing really great accordingly to our plan,” she reported enthusiastically. “We are gaining controls over cities and towns and their fucking Alliance and all their forces are nothing compared to ours.”The news delighted him. “And the monsters and newborns? Are they doing well?” He wanted to assess the magnitude of Maridelle’s help. “Of course. That bitch had done us a good favor.” She smiled bitterly as her thoughts wanders from the moment she lost her pretty appearance because of her blood. It made her even angrier knowing Maridelle had survived the death they had offered to her. Hodor noti
Hurried and nervous knocks reverberated at the other side of the door. Without a waste of time, it was opened immediately disclosing to both Alpha Lachlan and Maridelle the Alliance and all who builds it. Nyx was quick to inform them about the news and the progresses it had already taken. She kept her gaze downwards while walking behind her Alpha who had entered with his authority and bearing. The silence that occupied the entirety of the whole room after they had stepped in sends cold shivers to Maridelle. Their feet halted just a meter away from the center where Lucia is standing.“She should be punished!” contemptuously scream by one of the Alliance’s member right after determining who their visitors are.His jaw tightened, fist clenched. Though he knew that is the best thing to do to Maridelle, for some reason Alpha Lachlan detested the idea. It only means she will get hurt. He held her hand and gently pressed it to tell her he got her. Maridelle remained gazing on the floor. She
It undeniable that the first being he would see right after opening his eyes is her is the best feeling he had for the past few months. Alpha Lachlan took his time to savor the moment as if everyhting is in peace. He slid his arm around Maridelle’s body, pulling her closer to his. Her back is facing him and his skin could apparently have the pleasure of her soft delicate skin; his nose is tickled by her body scent. There was a soft giggle coming from her. His lips neared her ear. “Good morning,” he sweetly whispered. Maridelle turned around and nuzzles on his chest. “I love you.” She smiled. He could not hide the happiness he felt; even his wolf gave a soft howl letting him know that he felt the same. A broad smile appeared on his visage; his eyes glimmer like the stars sprinkled on the pitch-dark sky. “I love you too,” he replied with all his heart, kissing her on the lips; but then the joyous moment has to be ceased. He needs to keep in mind the war Hodor poses. Regardless the mom
They drove along the dangerous road leading to the place where Alpha Lachlan was trained to lead his pack. Any time, their car could be susceptible to the rebels roaming around. The peace and order has been completely neglected. Lucia was so angry upon knowing that the Altamonte pack had kept the crucial information to themselves. She had almost used her wrath to destroy the pack if not only Alpha Lachlan did not convince her to analyze the situation cautiously. The Altamonte pack is the only pack that has fully prepared against Hodor’s forces. The bigger fight is not betweem them and so it has been decided to have a ceasefire and work together against Hodor. “We are almost there,” he informed her. She nodded, her eyes landing on the blurring scenery outside the car’s window as their vehicle paced fast. “Everything will be alright.”“No. It won’t,” she replied despondently. Not wanting to talk all over it again, Maridelle rested her head on the cushion of her seat and tried to doz
It was Nyx who first reacted after the shocking event of seeing Alpha Lachlan entered the Caruso pack with Maridelle at his side. The whole pack was stunned to witness the two together after the known dispute between them. Most of the eyes that landed on her figure are full of detest, apparently showing their anger of attacking their pack.“Ho-How?” Nyx asked; she is following her twin’s lead towards his chamber. “It’s hard to explain, Nyx, but I want you to prepare a getaway car and some essentials,” he commanded. “I need it ASAP.”He opened the door. Beta Mellow was already inside the chamber and so is Amari. Maridelle remained gazing only to Alpha Lachlan’s feet to guide herself on where to go, obviously avoiding any eye contact. Beta Mellow and Amari stood up as he entered the chamber. “Beta Mellow,” he called him. When he is certain that he got his full attention, he continued speaking. “Prepare the pack. All our warriors must ready themselves for a bloody war. There is going
