42. Turn Of Events

Wynter gasped when she realized what was in her hands. It was clearly a velvet box, and Wynter didn't have to be told to know what was inside it.

"Shadrach, don't tell me this is what I am thinking it is?" Wynter asked.

"Unfortunately, I can't read minds to know what you are thinking, but wait till you feel it," Shadrach chuckled.

First, he came forward, and without removing the blindfold from Wynter's eyes, he latched his lips onto hers, capturing her in an enticing kiss.

Wynter was caught off guard, but she quickly started responding to his kiss with equal fervor. Both of them didn't fail to express how much they were going to miss each other's taste; it felt like they were capturing their essence.

While kissing, Shadrach opened the box. Wynter didn't even notice what he was doing and quickly slipped a ring on her finger.

Wynter pulled away from him, breathless. "Shadrach, what is this? Why did you put a ring?" Wynter asked. "Can I take off this blindfold, please

Storm pouted, glancing through the railings."You don’t need to worry, cupcake. Mimi won’t leave you," Wynter assured him, shaking her head."Your mom is right, champ. Nobody's leaving you here alone. In fact, nobody's staying behind," Sabrina chimed in as she approached, cradling Storm in her arms.Every time Sabrina looked at Storm, her mind flashed back to when she first met Wynter. Storm was the boy version of Wynter, but even more mischievous. Wynter had been so calm at that age."Mimi!" Storm exclaimed joyfully, wrapping his arms around her."My sweet boy," Sabrina kissed him affectionately."Mama, Iris, his hair is a mess! Please send him back to me!" Wynter pleaded."Let him be, Princess. I’ll take care of his hair," Travis said as he stepped forward, ready to scoop his grandson up."And Nio, tell Mama that

"What is it, Harris?" she asked, her frustration evident.Without giving Harris a chance to explain, she swiftly turned back around, only to find nobody there. Her mind went blank for a moment."Did you see someone coming through the entrance?" Wynter turned to Harris and inquired."Wynter, we're at an event; there are a lot of people coming and going," Harris responded.Wynter felt silly for asking such a question. "I thought I saw someone," she replied gloomily."Who was it?" Harris inquired, but Wynter remained silent. She was sure she saw him; she couldn't have mistaken anybody for him, but she also thought that her mind was playing games with her."Wynter!" 45. Sudden EncountersWynter's POVI carried Storm in my arms and hurried to the bathroom. Placing him on the counter, tears welled up in my eyes uncontrollably this time. Until Storm saw him, I had thought I was hallucinating, but things were worse than I had imagined. "Mommy, why are you crying? Why didn't Daddy come to us?" Storm innocently asked. He is very emotional and can't stand to see me hurt. If I ever end up crying in front of him, Storm feels my pain and cries along with me."Storm, I know you want to go and meet Daddy, but we can't do that right now. He did see us, and trust me, he is excited to meet us too. However, he is in a difficult situation, and we need to help him. If we go back to him now, he might fail in his mission. Do you want that?" I asked, trying to convince him. This was all I could come up with in such a short time, and I needed to be convincing to my son. My initial thought was to confront Shadrach, but I can't do that in front of my son. I have to c

While passing through the crowd, my shoulder accidentally bumped into a man. When I turned around to apologize, the color drained from my face as I saw who it was—a sinister smirk on his face.My eyes widened in shock, and I didn't bother hiding my surprise. His sick grin only intensified my shock. Sean stood there, looking at me with a mocking grin. What was he doing here? He had no business being in the same place as me; he shouldn't even breathe the same air as me."What are you doing here?" I dared to ask. I could sense his intentions were not good; it was evident in his demeanor. If he thought I was the same fragile and naive girl he could manipulate as he pleased, he was mistaken. I had to shatter his assumptions and show him that I was not the same Wynter he had left behind; I had changed, and for the be

Wynter paused, reconsidering the plan she thought would go smoothly, but lying to her father was never easy for her. "I have a camp..."Seeing Wynter falter, Sabrina stepped in on her behalf, "because there is an animal rescue camp nearby, and it would be difficult for her to travel every day. So, she has requested to stay there for a month or two, and we have already discussed everything with Nio and me. EpilogueSabrina's POVThe soft hum of violins played on, weaving a melody that seemed to mirror the emotions swirling within me—excitement, love, and a hint of nervousness. The garden was nothing short of magical, bathed in the golden glow of the setting sun. White roses and blush-pink peonies bordered the aisle like nature’s embrace, their fragrance soothing yet invigorating. This was it—the moment I had dreamed of all my life. I was marrying Shadrach.Taking a deep breath, I tried to steady the fluttering in my chest. Beside me, Mama Iris adjusted my veil with a delicate touch. Her hands trembled slightly, and her eyes shimmered with unshed tears.“You look beautiful, my love,” she said, her voice trembling. “I can’t believe you’re getting married already. 73. Blinded DreamsShadrach's POVIt’s been a month since all the chaos unfolded, and life has finally settled into a calm rhythm. Things feel normal again. Wynter has officially moved into my penthouse at Jackson Tower. Although I insisted that Ethan stay with us—after all, this place belongs to him as much as it does to me—he refused, saying that I was the one who had truly contributed to the growth of Jackson Enterprises, even when things were at their most vulnerable.Still, I was persistent, and he eventually agreed to move into the flat just below my penthouse. He seems satisfied with that arrangement, and I’m happy to have him close. For the first time, this penthouse feels like home. Wynter, however, insists that we also spend time at the house she bought for herself. When I suggested renting it out, she outright refused, saying it held sentimental value for her. With no other option, we’ve made a habit of spending our weekends there. It’s a compromise, but one I don’t mind for
