55. Luca: Now I can see

While she was asleep, the utterances emptied from my mouth. My fingers, gently placed on her eyes, her snore adding a rhythm to my chants.

The Moon-sight ritual was taking place in Harriet's room and I was hardly feeling any remorse. The presence around me was changing and I felt a gush of deity presence.

Her light was twinkling and for a moment, it became dark all over again.

Did it work? I couldn't tell. This was my first time snatching one's eyesight.

I laid back on the bed beside Harriet. The same darkness I've had for years still hovers around me. Not wanting to think too deeply about it, I put myself to sleep.
