Sophia

Staring at myself on the floor, broken and helpless. The sight of me like that twists something deep inside, but then I feel it—something behind me. A presence that sends a chill down my spine, raising goosebumps on my arms.

“You’re smarter than I thought,” a familiar voice purrs right in my ear.

Selena.

Turning my head, I look at her. She smirks, her eyes gleaming with that same malice I’ve come to know too well. “Finally figured out my little secret, huh? Took you long enough.”

Ignoring her, I shift my gaze back to myself.

Every other emotion drains out of me, leaving just fury in its place. It rises like fire, burning hotter with every word she says.

She laughs, the sound sharp and mocking, and then she steps closer, her hand reaching out. She runs her fingers through my hair, just like she did when I was lying there, vulnerable, beaten, barely conscious.

I don’t flinch, don’t move. My eyes stay locked on the version of me on the ground, beaten and defeated. The anger inside

MikhailI’ve ordered Alexei to take Emily back to the packhouse. The poor kid is completely shaken up, clinging to Alexei like he is the only one she trusts at this moment.I don’t blame her. After everything she’s been through, I wouldn’t trust anyone else either, and honestly, Alexei looks just as protective of her as she is desperate for him.“Take her back,” I tell him again, my voice steady, even though I feel anything but calm inside. “She needs rest, and we need to make sure she’s safe.”Alexei hesitates, his arms still wrapped around Emily like he’s afraid she might crumble if he lets go. He looks at me, his jaw tight, and I can see the conflict in his eyes.I can tell he is torn between wanting to stay and fight along with me and the need to protect Emily."Go, it is an order of your Alpha." I relieve him from this inner conflict.Clenching his jaws, he looks at me and curtly nods his head.“I’ll take care of her,” he says, his voice low but firm, like he’s making a promise.

MikhailThe sounds of the fight surround me.Growls, snapping jaws, and the sickening crunch of bones echo as we cut through the Redwood wolves, leaving them behind in a mangled mess. We’re a blur of fur and fury, tearing through them with no hesitation. I barely register the fight anymore. Blood stains the ground, soaking into the dirt as my warriors and I move deeper into the pack.My claws are slick with it, my wolf howling with satisfaction as we tear through the Redwood wolves like they’re nothing more than obstacles in our path. They fight hard, but it doesn’t matter. None of it matters. Not the blood, not the screams, not even the bodies piling up around us.They’re all just obstacles in the way of what I really want. Selena. There’s no hesitation, no mercy. Anyone who comes at us dies, plain and simple.Everything in here reeks of death and fear, but there’s no sign of her.A wolf lunges at me, teeth bared, aiming for my throat. I sidestep and bring my claws down hard, ripping

LucasThe moment Sophia told me to step back into the shadows, I felt it—something shifted.I don’t know what she did, but whatever it was, it’s hiding me, keeping me out of sight.Sophia's back is straight, her shoulders squared, but I know her well enough to spot the tension running through her. That’s when she shows up.She doesn't walk or anything shifted... she just appears. One second, there’s nothing and the next, she’s standing there in front of Sophia.Even from where I’m standing, the smell hits me. It’s vile. Like rotting meat left out in the sun, mixed with something else I can’t even describe. My stomach turns, and I have to clench my jaw to keep from gagging. But it’s not just the smell. There’s something so wrong about her. Her movements and the way she stands all feel unnatural. Like the world itself is rejecting her presence. The moment I laid eyes on her, I knew. She’s not just bad news. She’s walking evil, plain and simple. Her eyes are black and bottomless, like t

LucasIt’s like a fog’s lifting in my head, and everything about Sophia starts to click into place. Her blessing as a protector, the way she heals—it’s not just some random gift. It’s tied to something bigger, something deeper. She doesn’t just take pain because she’s selfless, even though she is.It’s because she’s an empath.I watch her now, standing there with that impossible calm, and it hits me. She’s not just feeling the world around her. She’s absorbing it. The energy, the emotions, even the power swirling in the air—it’s all drawn to her like a moth to a flame.I’ve seen glimpses of it before. The way she takes other people’s pain, how she carries it like it’s her own. But now I’m seeing the full picture. It’s not just about healing. When she takes other's pain on herself and heals them, she always pays the price for it. A sacrifice that she needs to make. But this never stops her from healing the people who are in pain. She heals not just physical wounds, but she even tries

SophiaSelena’s face twists, her lips pulling back in a snarl that quickly morphs into something unhinged. Her eyes dart wildly, unfocused as if she’s seeing something no one else can. Her movements become erratic and jerky, like she’s trying to fight off something invisible.I feel it—a strong, steady presence pushing against my mind. It’s Lucas. His energy hums through the air, sharp and precise, wrapping around Selena like an iron grip. Whatever she’s seeing, whatever is driving her insane, it’s because of him.He is the smartest of us, his mind sharper than a blade. But now, watching Selena unravel, I realize he’s more than that. He’s not just intelligent; he’s got power over the mind itself. Because I can feel he is in her head, twisting her reality, and breaking her from the inside out.He is making her taste her own medicine.Selena lets out a guttural scream, clutching her head as if she can rip Lucas out of her mind. Her magic flares wildly, chaotic and untamed, but it’s not e

JakeLucas’s pain hits me straight in my chest, raw and sharp, and I can’t tell if it’s his panic or my own tearing through me. We’re all feeling it, this crushing under some invisible burden like something vital is slipping through our fingers. The bond we share with Sophia, even if it’s distant, hums with a growing ache. However, the truth is, we’re powerless. Lucas is the only one with any kind of connection to her right now, and even that feels like it’s hanging by a thread. My wolf is losing it. He’s pacing, snarling, clawing to get out. Every part of me is screaming to run, to tear through whatever’s keeping us from her. But we can’t. There’s this barrier, this suffocating wall between her and us, and no amount of strength or will can break it.I glance around at the others. Their faces mirror my own—a mix of fear and frustration. Their wolves are restless too, practically howling inside them, desperate to get to Sophia. But it doesn’t matter how much we want to help her. It doe

MikhailMy claws are still out, stained with the remnants of blood and flesh, but my focus sharpens when Alexei runs up to me, his face grim.“I can’t reach Merope,” Alexis voice is strained. “She’s in the middle of the ritual, and Jake, Caleb, Atlas, and Artemis are all part of it. Lucas is with Sophia now."I nod, processing his words. A part of me feels a small wave of relief. At least Lucas is with Sophia. She isn’t completely alone. But that doesn’t ease the knot in my chest. Lucas may be with her, but that doesn’t mean they’re safe. They both are still out there somewhere we don't know... Somewhere where I can't reach my Sophia. My heart aches because she is still not with me.Pushing that thought aside, I focus back on the situation at hand.Destroying Selena's body.Sophia entrusted me with a task, and I have to see it through. I turn back to Alexei, meeting his gaze. “I need you to lead the warriors from here on out.”His brows furrow and I can see the flicker of worry in his

MikhailThe cave is like a pitch-black void that seems to swallow the faint light from outside. The darkness doesn’t faze me, though. It can try to intimidate me all it wants, but I am not someone who is going to be scared. The air shifts as if something unseen stirs, carrying a faint metallic scent that prickles at my senses.I stand at the mouth of the cave, and the energy inside brushes against me. It’s intense, almost tangible, swirling just beyond the entrance like a warning. My wolf is restless, pacing just beneath the surface, not from unease but from readiness. He knows, just like I do, that this place isn’t ordinary. It’s soaked in Selena’s magic, her dark influence tainting the air. It presses against me like a challenge, daring me to turn back. But I don’t turn back. I don’t hesitate. I’ve faced worse than this, walked through fire and blood to protect what matters. This darkness might be strong enough to crush someone else, but not me.My mark hums steadily against my ches

SophiaI feel the warmth before I fully wake up. A soft, steady heat pressed against my back, strong arms wrapped around me, holding me close. Then, the faintest brush of lips against my shoulder.A soft smile tugs at my lips before I can stop it. The kisses are light, barely there, like Mikhail is savoring the feel of my skin under his lips. He moves slowly, trailing feather-light kisses along the curve of my shoulder, up my neck. Each one sends a small shiver down my spine.I shift, stretching my arms above my head, feeling the pull in my muscles as my body wakes up. But before I can finish the motion, a gasp slips from my lips.Mikhail’s mouth is on my mark. His lips press against it, warm and teasing, and then he nibbles—just enough for my breath to hitch. My whole body reacts instantly. A rush of heat floods through me, my skin tingling like a spark has just been lit. My fingers clutch at the sheets, my back arching slightly as something deep inside me stirs. Then, his canines gr

MikhailI step forward, closing the distance between us, but before I can take another, a low growl rumbles from Sophia’s chest. It’s quiet, but it’s there. A warning.I stop in my tracks, lifting an eyebrow as I glance at her.Did she just growl at me?Sophia clenches her eyes shut for a second before shaking her head, a small laugh escaping her lips. She looks almost embarrassed, like she hadn’t meant for it to slip out. "Sorry," she mutters, letting out a breath. "My wolf is in overprotective mode. She’s being territorial over Rose."She doesn’t need to explain. I can see it in the way her arms tighten around Rose, the way she angles her body just slightly, like she’s shielding her. Even though I would never be a threat, her instincts don’t care. She’s protecting our daughter the only way she knows how.Rose, completely oblivious to her mother’s fierce protectiveness, giggles against Sophia’s chest. Her tiny hands grip at her mom’s shirt, her small fingers curling into the fabric a

MikhailSophia's grip on my hand tightens the closer we get to the house. Her steps pick up, her breathing shifts, and I can feel the energy rolling off her in waves. It’s a mix of excitement and something raw, something untamed. Her wolf is on edge, not out of fear but out of that deep, instinctual protectiveness only a mother has for her pup.I can almost hear her wolf pacing beneath the surface, waiting, ready. It’s not aggression, not really. It’s just that fierce need to see her pup, to hold her, to make sure she’s safe.I squeeze her hand comfortingly. She turns her head to me, and the second our eyes meet, a smile breaks across her face. It’s so bright, so full of joy that it knocks the air from my lungs. She doesn’t say anything. She doesn’t need to.I just squeeze her hand again, letting her know I feel it too. However, I can’t stop myself. The second that smile lights up her face, I lean in and press a kiss right to it.She lets out a small, surprised breath, but then her gr

MikhailThe cool air dries our clothes as we walk back, the scent of damp fabric mixing with the crisp night breeze. Sophia insisted on washing them before she sees Rose. She said she doesn’t want to carry any negativity these clothes might have absorbed and risk letting it touch our daughter in any way.If it were up to me, I would have burned them the second we stepped out of that place. But Sophia shot that idea down fast. Apparently, walking home with nothing on wasn’t an option for her. I reminded her that we’re shifters; nudity isn’t exactly a big deal. She reminded me that we don’t have spare clothes stashed anywhere nearby and that she’s not about to greet our daughter in our birthday suits. Our fingers find each other without a second thought. Sophia’s hand slides into mine, warm and familiar, as it belongs there. I curl my fingers around hers, holding tight but not too tight, just enough to let her know I’m here. That I’m not letting go.We walk in sync, step by step, and th

  • Blind Alpha And His Unwanted Mate   Chapter 205

MikhailLying on the cool grass with one hand tucked behind my head and the other wrapped around Sophia, I let the night settle around us. Her head rests against my chest, her breath warm and steady, her fingers tracing slow, lazy patterns over my skin. The lake’s water washed away the blood and the weight of everything that happened. Now, under the soft glow of the moon, nothing else matters. There is scent of damp earth and fresh water in the air, wrapping around us like a quiet lullaby.Sophia shifts closer, her bare skin warm against mine. I tighten my hold, running my fingers along her spine in slow, soothing strokes.“This feels nice,” she murmurs, her voice soft, almost drowsy.I press a kiss to the top of her head, letting my lips linger. “Yeah. It does.”Sophia shifts against me, her body warm and soft completely opposite to mine. I feel her move, her fingers reaching across my chest, searching.I glance down just as she stretches her hand toward mine, trying to grab it. A s

MikhailThe moment I have Sophia in my arms, it feels like my heart is finally able to beat again, like my lungs can take in air properly.I didn’t realize how much I was suffocating until now. Until she was here, pressed against me, where she belongs.Having her back in my arms feels like I’ve gotten my life back, like I’m whole again. But then, she shifts slightly, trying to take a step back.A growl rips from my chest before I can stop it, deep and primal. My arms tighten around her instinctively, refusing to let her move away.My wolf is losing it, clawing at me, desperate to keep her close. Possessiveness surges through me, raw and unrelenting. I don’t want her to go—I can’t let her go. Not even for a second.Sophia laughs softly, the sound light but a little tired. Her arms tighten around me, and for a second, it feels like she’s holding on just as much as I am.“I’m dirty,” she murmurs, tilting her head back just enough to meet my eyes. There’s something teasing there, but also

MikhailShe’s drenched in blood, but it’s not hers. It drips from her fingers, streaks down her arms, soaks into the floor beneath her feet. She’s trying so damn hard to keep it together, to hold back the tears threatening to spill over. But the second I tighten my arms around her, she breaks.A shudder runs through her body, and then she’s shaking, her walls crashing down as she buries herself against me.“I was so afraid I’d lose you…” Her voice cracks, barely more than a whisper. “I’ve lost myself, but I can’t bear to lose you.”She presses her face into my chest, her sobs muffled against me. I hold her tighter, one hand cradling the back of her head, the other gripping her waist like I can somehow keep her from falling apart.“I’m right here,” I murmur against her hair. “I’m not going anywhere.”Her fingers dig into my back, clutching me like I’m the only thing keeping her together. And maybe, in this moment, I am."This darkness is suffocating," she whispers, her voice barely hol

MikhailSophia doesn’t even glance at Artemis. It’s like she’s not even there. But her eyes? They stay locked on mine, unblinking and intense. There’s no sense of recognition in them, no softness, no warmth. Just something cold and distant.Still, I feel her.Our mate bond doesn’t hum with the warmth it once had, but it’s there, faint and pulsing like a thread stretched too thin but refusing to snap completely. She doesn’t say a word, doesn’t make a move. Just keeps staring at me, her gaze drilling into mine like she’s waiting. Then I realize... she’s waiting for me to see her, to really see her. All of her. The darkness she carries, the evil she’s let in, it’s twisted and terrifying, but beneath all that, she’s still my mate. She’s still Sophia. And she needs me to accept that. She’s not looking for judgment or fear. She wants reassurance, a promise that I’m not going anywhere, no matter how deep her shadows run. She needs to know I’m still with her, that I won’t turn my back on he

MikhailSophia's smile falters just enough for me to notice. There’s a flicker in her gaze—unsure, almost fragile—and it hits me like a punch to the gut. My heart clenches as I watch her wrestle with whatever storm is brewing in her mind.“You don’t hate me,” she says, her voice so quiet it feels like a secret. The vulnerable side that wonders if she deserves to be loved.... that her darkness would make me not love her.Anger floods through me, hot and fierce, almost too much to hold back.Because this uncertainty I see flickering in Sophia’s eyes, that doubt gnawing at her, it didn’t just come out of nowhere. It’s him. Gregor. That worthless piece of filth lying broken on the ground. He’s the reason she even questions her worth. He’s the one who planted this poison in her head, making her feel like she can’t be loved, like she’s undeserving of it. Every insult, every cut he threw her way was meant to chip away at her, to leave her feeling unloved and worthless. I take a deep breath,
