Jessica's POV

I could see my locker in sight. At the same time I could hear voices. Down the hall splits into two ends, forming a T-shape. One led to the exit and one led to the gymnasium. Both of which were supposed to be crowded, but a few hours had passed after Katie unraveled the chaos that had been creeping in the roots of the pack.

The voices seemed to stay at the same volume, no matter how close I got to my locker. You could still hear the imminent faint voices whispering to each other. They were voices I didn't recognize. Slowly, I walked past the goal—my locker. I was suddenly more interested in the voice because whatever they were talking about that needed them to keep their voice at a hushed level needed to be heard and had to be important. I abandoned my initial goal, the new goal was to find where the obscure voice was coming from. The hallway towards the exit was empty except for two special force guards who stood outside at the entrance. You could see their head gear a

Katie's POV Rowan finally dropped off the call with Jessica. Killian was also done with calling Mel and was back standing beside me as we all waited for the news. “First of all, this just got more twisted than I thought it will—” “What did she say!” I sparked from the huge amount of anxiety that had pooled inside of me while trying to exercise patience so they finished their conversations. He sighed. “Jessica is coming here, first of all.” He announced. All three of us at the same time erupted into noises of disapproval before he shut us down by clapping his hands so loud, I could swear he used some magic to enhance the loudness as I had to slap my hand against my ears to not be deafened by it. “Can you all chill the fuck out?! Katie's POVWalking through the streets of Red Moon Pack, pictures of my dad were plastered in every corner of the streets. He was running for the position of Alpha President, and his beloved pack members were campaigning for him as they shared fake stories of his good deeds. I call them fake because, for the past seventeen years, he has never bothered about my well-being. Yes, I'm his illegitimate daughter, he raped my mom when he was drunk, and instead of owning up and taking responsibility for his actions, my mom who was nothing but an omega was threatened to keep quiet, while he went ahead to marry the former Pack's councilors's daughter, Joanna, and they have a daughter who is just a month younger than me named Jessica.I hate this Pack and everyone in it. They all know I'm an illegitimate child and they even know how I was conceived but they chose to turn a blind eye, and instead, decided to bully my mother and me into silence.I've never felt any sense of belonging here, and I

Katie's PovMy heart sank as I read the message. Without a second thought, I dashed out of the Cafe, grabbed my colleague's scooter keys, and rode straight to the hospital, not paying heed to my colleague who was screaming at the top of her lungs that I should return her scooter."Where's my mom?" I asked the receptionist at the hospital as soon as I got in.She glanced at me with disdain and got back to pressing her computer."Where's my mom?!" I growled and banged the front desk. She looked up at me lazily and pointed to the room. "Room 103."I raced through the hospital corridor with my heart pounding in my chest as different thoughts ran through my mind. My mum has the best healing abilities in the entire region, I'm not just exaggerating. I've seen her heal people who were left for dead, so getting a text that she was in a critical condition scares me out of my wits.As I reached the room, I took in a deep breath before pushing the door open. Tears welled up in my eyes as I saw m

Katie's PovI woke up to the sound of a nonstop knock on my door. Last night after I came back from the hospital, I could hardly sleep as all I could do was cry over the death of the only person who ever truly loved me, my mom. Groggily, I stumbled out of bed. I couldn't help but wonder who could be at the door, as no one in the Pack visits us. Groggily making my way to the front door, I hurt my pinky toe."Ouch!" I winced in pain, as I limped the rest of the way to the door.Opening the door, I realized it was mid-afternoon, I must have slept all morning because I couldn't sleep last night. My father stood at the other end of the door dressed in his usual suit and tie, and beside him was a lady I had never seen before in my life."What's going on?" I asked as I glanced at both of them. "Have you guys found what happened to my mom's wolf?""Let's go inside please," the lady spoke. "So we can talk properly."I furrowed my brow at her."I'm sorry," she apologized. "I'm Stella Bowman,"

Katie's PovI was beyond stunned and highly disappointed, mostly at myself for believing that a monster could change overnight. He has never cared about him, so my mom's death was definitely not going to make him start caring."Oh you poor thing," Joanna's tiny voice snapped me out of my train of thought, and then she pulled me closer to her and enveloped me in a tight hug."Poor Katie, I'm so sorry for your loss," she muttered and wiped a fake tear from her eyes. The reporters saw this as a one-in-a-million act and didn't waste time in taking pictures."Don't worry you'll always have a place to call home," Joanna said, as she broke the hug. Their level of hypocrisy made me cringe. "Jessica, come over here," Joanna waved at her daughter, my step-sister.Jessica walked over to where we stood surrounded by reporters, with a forced smile on her lips."I'm really sorry about your mum," Jessica said and wrapped her arms around me."Awww," her mother cooed. "She loves her step-sister alrea

"No," I muttered.Jessica squinted her brows as she stared at me for a few seconds. "Okay," she said dismissively. That night, my dreams were plagued with nightmares of my mum pleading with me to get justice for her. Three times that same night, I woke up trembling from the haunting images, and my entire body was drenched in sweat. The nightmares felt so real, and every time I drifted off to sleep it continued. It felt like my mum's spirit was urging me to uncover the truth of her death.Morning soon arrived, with the morning light seeping into my room. I slid out of bed, took a shower, and got dressed for school, before making my way downstairs.Getting downstairs, I noticed that the house was quiet, it looked like not a single soul was in it. I don't know if it's me just overthinking, but back when my mum was alive, breakfast with her was something I looked forward to all the time. It was my favorite part of my day."Good–""Your breakfast is on the dining table," the first person I

Killian's POVFor a 22-year-old, and given the current time, one would think I'd be allowed to choose a life partner for myself since I haven't found my mate, but no, my parents who feel they always know best decided to choose an arranged mate for me. I guess that's one of the perks of being the sole heir to Hux enterprise, a multi-billion dollar company founded by my grandparents.I sat at the six-seater dining table with my parents seated at both ends, as they went on and on talking about my fiance and arranged mate Ana. Their conversation was mainly about how nice it would be to take her out on a date to the newly opened five-star restaurants at Greenville's Avenue, but I had my mind on something else and was not interested in what they were saying.I tapped my feet impatiently under the table, as I played around with my food which was growing cold. My parents didn't seem to notice that I just sat down there but I wasn't really with them, especially since they decided to make the b

Katie's PovI woke up to the blaring sound of my alarm. This time around it sounded louder than normal and it irked me. Still half asleep, I slapped my hand to the right to turn it off but my hand landed on the bed, and not on my alarm."Where am I?" I mumbled, as I slowly rubbed my eyes open. Everything looked entirely different, the bed, the room– then my memories began to pour back in, and I recalled that I had moved in with my so-called father and his family, so I was in the room allocated to me. Well, at least for one, the bed was soft, and more spacious than my previous bed.I stretched my arm further and reached out for the alarm, and silenced it by tapping the knob on the top, as I tried to figure out what must have happened.Lifting the upper half of my body, I could feel a dull ache by the side of my cranium but it was so faint I needed to pay extra attention to it to have felt it. Figuring I was in my room didn't end the confusion that still clouded my judgment. "Who brou

Katie's POV “Hey Jessica…” Roman muttered. The seconds after that felt like a turmoil was growing inside of me as his face turned into horror. The worst possible scenario is all I could think of. “What’s she saying??” I almost forgot to whisper. He frowned at me, as if trying to shut me up without really saying anything at the same time. So I let the anxiety consume me, seconds after seconds. He moved away from me and I drew closer. It was Shedrack who held me back. I was ready to fight for my freedom till I saw the defeated look on his face. “Let him talk to her. You are wanted. I don't think it's a good idea to let her know we are here. I mean, do you trust her??” The question turned something in my head ice cold, like an icicle poking through my frontal lobe. It Sent goosebumps down my arms. I immediately knew the answer to the question. No. His hand slowly slipped off my shoulder and back to his side. Together, we watched him converse from a distance.

Katie's POV “WHAT???”I could feel the siren blaring at the back of my head as reality began to settle in from the drop of his words. “Do you have a better way of saying it? Please, be my guest.” He didn't hesitate to slap me across the face with his tone. It was clear that now wasn't a time to remember he was my mate and he should have delivered that information with some sort of care. The situation we had ourselves in genuinely didn't care for us. The both of us. I sighed, knowing he was right and that we needed to get the hell out of here as soon as possible. “I just thought I would have a little more time to like…” I trailed off. Roman came into my focus. He wasn't all up in Shedrack’s face anymore, now that he knew he was safe and well. He was concentrating on me now. “You would have more time to do what? Say bye to the monster of a father you have or your evil stepmother??” “Friends.” I let the word drop, trying not to think about what he said in the tone he said it. His

Katie's POV I was staring into his hollow eyes that terribly needed sleep. I could tell he meant every damn word he was saying. His eyebrows were almost knitted into a straight frown the way he furrowed them at me. The red streak of vein that curled down his pupil stuck out to me. I was about to tell him he needed to take care of himself too when a sudden loud noise that sounded like someone violent struggling with a locked door made me jump literally into his arms. We all were startled, with Shedrack going behind the counter immediately. It turned out to be a crazy looking Roman. He was pointing violently at the lock doors and them at his head, his hand signifying a gun. I didn't need more show and tell in my life. I got to the glass door and slid the mopstick out, letting the crazy boy in.“Where is he??” He was all up in my face. His eyes darted around the Cafe, clearly in search of a certain someone who was currently seeking refuge behind the counter. Like a hamster, his head po

Katie's POVShedrack didn’t pick up his phone after ringing him up at least three times. That was weird. He usually was the closest to his phone. “He's not picking up.” I said out loud, turning to Killian to see his reaction. He looked deep in thoughts like he was already thinking about our next step, which I bet he was. He never slowed down, especially in times like this. I could hear the gears turning in his head as he was trying to figure out our next move. The car was also slowing down but not necessarily coming to a full halt. “What about—what's his name? Roman?” He tapped the steering wheel impatiently. I nodded, deciding not to pick the moment to attack him for forgetting Roman's name. We weren't exactly in the most comfortable situations. I scrolled down my phone aggressively, coming to a halt on his name. I dialed it and he picked up immediately. “Hey Roman—” “I can't get a hold on Shedrack. I have been trying to call you guys. I don't have Killian contact and yours was n

  • Blessed By The Goddess: The Chosen Lusina Wolf   Chapter 137

Killian's POV Flashback We sat outside Wayne's street, directly adjacent to the only working lamppost in the street. I wondered why a well paid doctor with connections to all the powerful people in the park lived in such a sketchy area with hardly any lights. The buildings around either looked unoccupied or sketchy. But then again, she wasn't a saint herself. She clearly had her own secrets. Doctor Esther had been pronounced dead and we knew who was responsible. We have the evidence. But at the same time, we had nothing. There was nothing that directly connected the Whitlocks, Matthew and the head of special werewolf forces, Anne Adams. The beta—that caught me by surprise considering I could swear he was one of the good ones. “You really think it is a great idea to snoop in the house of the deceased just a day after she is pronounced dead??” The worry in his voice was enough to have me turn to face him. “You heard what she said, ‘take them out bec

Katie's POVKillian stretched his hand to me. I stared at it, randomly recalling him standing in that same trench coat, coming down the hall like a savior. I took his hand. “I oddly remember that trench coat now more than ever.” I blurted out. He looked down at the green trench coat, confusion displayed on his face. “Well, it won't be the first time I have worn it, so…” I rolled my eyes, not bothering about giving him a back story as to why I said what I said. Instead, we walked down the path from the school and got into his car in time for the SWF, special werewolf force’s arrival. They pulled up in multiple cars, gating the school’s entrance before our eyes. “Wanna sit and watch Evan’s ass get dragged out of the building?” Killian’s voice popped in my head. “Okay, I get we are mates and bonded, but I am never getting used to you talking inside my head. I have ears for a reason.” I turned to say to him. The familiar sound of the school door being violently opened sent both of ou

Killian's POV “I actually like her.”I blurted out. The car went silent, only the sound of a live engine and the dull voice of the radio presenter filling the air. The rest of it was pure silence and awkwardness.“Fuck…” I said out loud. Not to the fact I just confessed my feelings for Katie but because It felt good. It felt good to admit it out loud for once that I found every moment with her thrilling.“I don't think you know this but you weren't exactly subtle about it on the trip, you know that, right?” Stephen asked, looking at me through the front mirror. The same mirror I used to flip him my middle finger.“Well you try having a mate you are destined to be with where you can't control how you feel, what you feel and when you feel it. And when your other comes as close as ten inches from you, you can smell their soul. It's that deep.” I said defensively. I hated how it seemed as if I lacked self control when that was like my greatest fort.“Killian, are you saying Katie is you
