2. Demon Vs Logan

Today Beth started teaching private, her subject is Math, she teaches a nine-year-old girl. She was assigned to teach once a week, every afternoon after work--if she worked the morning shift. She is in dire need of money.

The girl's name is Raineriska, her nickname is Raine. She has a small face, long straight shoulder-length hair, with a sharp nose, chubby cheeks, and big black eyes. She really likes wearing headbands, which makes her look even cuter. At home, Raine is alone with her elderly caregiver, Mam Runs, while her father works.

According to Mam Runs, Raine only has a father, because her parents divorced immediately after Raine was born into the world. Even so, Raine is not a spoiled girl. She is very independent and loves to cook.

"Why do you study Math privately? Why don't you study in the tutoring place?" asked Beth while Raine was working on the problem she had given her, at their second meeting a week later.

"I wanted to study in a tutoring place, but my father was worried about me, so he only allowed me to study privately at home."

Beth raised her thick eyebrows. A father who worries too much about his daughter, Beth thought. "Sometimes, we will study Math outside, so you won't get bored."

Raine looked happy, but after a while, she fell silent. "Father won't allow it."

"Let me ask your father for permission. How about that? Do you want it?"

Raine's eyes sparkled again. "I will, Miss!" Suddenly Raine hugged her.

"Thank you, Beth, there's a place I'd like to go to, but Dad won't allow it."

"Where to?"

"My mother's house."

Beth was surprised. "Your mother's house?"

Raine nodded. "Lately, mom has visited us a few times, but Dad doesn't like it. So..."

Beth swallowed. Wow, it could be a serious matter if she took Raine to her mother's house, the girl's father might be very angry. But she did not have the heart to refuse the request of the little girl who was looking at her with teary eyes. Finally, she reluctantly agreed. Even though in her heart, she kept praying that nothing bad would happen to her in the future, would Raine's father scold her…or was she involved in Raine's parents' private problems?

As Beth was walking to the nearest bus stop, she bumped into Logan who was driving his red car--at slow speed--in the housing complex she was passing.

So Mr. Burger who had snatched her first kiss lives around here? Or the man wants to visit his girlfriend's house? Uhhh, feels like Beth throw a stone at him, remembering that her lips must be sacrificed for a playboy like him!

"Hey, you!" Said a heavy voice.

Beth stopped in her tracks. Oh my goodness, that's Burger's voice!

"You, Beth, what are you doing here at night? Girls hanging around at night! Are you being naughty?"

Instead of dealing with him, she'd better run away, Beth thought and started running. But the man chased after her, and stopped her cat right in front of her, making Beth glare at him angrily.

"What the hell? It's dangerous!" shouted Beth angrily.

"Why did you run?"

"Why are you after me?"

"I... want to ask something. Are you... the one teaching my daughter Math?"

"Your daughter?"

"Raine, Raineriska."

'Oh... My... God! So...the child...the child's mother? AGH....!' Beth internally regretted having to do with a family member of the man in front of her.

Okay, Beth feels the world is so small. She should have found out what Raine's father's name was. And it seemed... She had to cancel her plan to take Raine to her mother's place. Otherwise, this Burger's man would have killed her, Beth thought wryly.

"Oh...Raine is your daughter? Yes, I taught her...why? You don't like it? I can resign!"

"I don't think so, I guess the world is so small. Okay, then good night. Don't wander at night, you meet demon or vampire," he said with a sarcastic smile before leaving with his car.

Hiiii, you annoying man! Huh, a demon he said? Beth bit her lip, then quickly ran to the bus stop, pushing the images of the ghosts out of her mind.

She should meet demons, at least she can read some mantra or such spell to expel them... but of Logan! AGH...does she need to find a shaman to fight against that annoying man?
