This past week stress and worry have clung to the pack like cigarette smoke you can’t wash out of your clothes. There were two more eyti sightings but so far no attacks – thank the Goddess. The eyti mostly seem to be spotted at night, I don’t think it’s that they fear the sun, but that they thrive in the dark. I don’t know much about eyti but they sound like the very reason so many people are afraid of the dark. Even I’m creeped out by the thought of them. In lighter news, training has been going fantastically! Training has opened up to every member of the pack and already some more Omegas have started to join. We’re avoiding the forest for obvious reasons and just stick to training on the field. The ranked pack members – especially Alden – are doing everything they can to keep us safe. Since the first eyti sighting, I’ve barely spoken to Alden and while that makes me sad, it’s for the best. Three days of being close and personal with him was already turning me into a mess, so I’m gla
So perhaps I had ulterior motives for wanting to walk Sorrell home. I wasn’t lying when I said I was worried about her safety. Knowing how close the first eyti was to her home has had me even more on edge about her wellbeing, especially since it seems she attracts danger and trouble like a moth to a flame, but beyond all that, I just wanted to spend some quiet time alone with her. I’ve been so busy lately I haven’t had time to get to know her as much as I would like, so this seems like the perfect opportunity. “Do you and your dad still train privately together?” I ask as we casually walk to her house. Her face is still swollen and bruised from the fight, but I know she’ll be fine in no time. I still hate seeing her like this though, but boy did she give it to Romona. 'Highly satisfying to watch. I may have to replay it in my mind every time Romona pisses us off if she ends up sticking around,' Atlas says, rolling his eyes. 'If she doesn’t straighten up I’ll be forced to banish her
“HAPPY BIRTHDAY!” Come the very irritatingly loud voices of my parents. I pull my pillow over my head hoping they won’t notice me, but it doesn’t seem to work as I feel the cover being yanked off me. “You can’t hide in bed, it’s your eighteenth birthday! This calls for a celebration,” cheers my dad. “Sounds good, you guys go get started and I’ll catch up,” I say as I feel around for my covers. “Nice try, now scoot that boot out of bed or no present for you,” mum threatens. I groan and rise from the bed like a vampire from a coffin. Which is stupid to say now that I think about it, I mean, they’re not called ‘vampires’ and they don’t sleep in coffins. Humans have such an active imagination, I swear, the things they come up with. 'Come on, Sorrell, have a little enthusiasm. We’re eighteen, we might meet our animai today,' she says, wagging her tail in excitement. Yeah, that’s what I’m afraid of. It’s been three months since that day in the forest and Alden has barely said a word to
'What the fuck?!' Atlas shouts. I’m utterly stunned and frozen stiff. She ran. She fucking ran! Sorrell has run away from me in the past, but this hits different. She’s my animai, just like I knew she was. It took all morning for me to summon the courage to come down to training. I was terrified I’d get here and find out I was wrong, but as soon as I got to the training field her scent hit me like a freight train, and in the best way possible. Atlas was prancing with delight, and I couldn’t get to her fast enough. I’ve never been so happy in my life, and I thought she’d be happy too. She wouldn’t have to worry about this fear of not being mine because she is mine, she was made for me as I was made for her. But instead of being happy, she hightailed it out of here and ran so fast she almost left a smoke trail. I can hear the whispers around me. Everyone here just witnessed their Alpha find his Luna and her response was to flee, she may as well have fucking rejected me. Having your soul
I’ve been a nervous wreck since yesterday. Don’t get me wrong, I was overjoyed when Sorrell agreed to go out with me, but this is our first date and I want everything to be perfect. Maybe that’s unrealistic, but I can at least try. I showered twice, first time was to clean off the events of the day, and the second was because I got so nervous I started to sweat up a storm.'I keep telling you she’s not going to care. We will always smell good to our animai, she certainly smells heavenly to me, especially earlier when she was in the kitchen and her scent mingled with the smell of that pie she was baking,' says Atlas, drooling as his tongue lulls to the side. I was staring at her like an idiot wanting to leap across the kitchen and devour her, maybe even devour her while she’s covered in that pie, but I guess I was giving off a vibe, so Sorrell kicked me out of the kitchen.'Actually she banned you from the kitchen. Hasn’t even taken her oath as Luna yet and she’s already acting like on
Feeling slightly shaken I step back into the hallway just as Sorrell comes down the stairs and I instantly forget my worries along with how to breathe. She’s absolutely gorgeous! This is the first time I’ve ever seen her in a dress, she’s always in shorts for training and pants for everything else. She’s wearing a thin dress with a kind of feather and floral print in shades of brown. It has spaghetti straps, comes down to a diamond point to her knees with fringe coming down from the hem of the dress and almost touching the floor. She’s accessorised it with a belt around her waist and black cowboy boots, and she’s wearing the necklace I got her which makes my chest puff up with pride. As she reaches the bottom of the staircase, I reach out, taking her hand and lightly kiss the back of it, nearly moaning at the pleasurable electricity that courses through my lips. I know she must feel it too by the way her cheeks are turning red. “You look breathtaking,” I tell her. Actually, I wanted
Driving back to Sorrell’s I may have been driving a little further under the speed limit than was legally required just to prolong our time together and it was worth it because we got to talk more, there’s not a subject we haven’t covered. We told each other stories about growing up in the pack, we talked about how our parents met, we talked about our friends, nothing was off limits.“I’m glad you picked white,” she says, pulling me from my thoughts. I glance over to see her admiring the rose I got her.“Why’s that?”“Because white is my favourite colour,” she smiles. My eyebrows knit together, “Your favourite colour is a non-colour?”“Don’t knock it. You can do anything with white. It goes with everything, and it can always be treated like a starting point. A white canvas can become a work of art. A white wall can be the perfect backdrop for anything to hang on it. And you couldn’t make the perfect tie-dye t-shirt without a basic white shirt first,” she explains. I listen to her, enr
One minute I was clinging to Atlas’ fur with all my might as he sprinted through the woods at a speed I’d never seen from any mutolupus as those three shadowy figures chased us, their forms not even touching the ground. If it weren’t for the bright purple eyes I’d have believed we were being chased by darkness itself. They were almost in arms reach when I saw a bright ball of gold and blue light up in the sky hurtling towards us like a meteor about to crash land, but the closer it got the more I thought I saw… I don’t know, but next thing it made impact and there was lightning, and I could feel myself being thrown off Atlas and now all I feel is pain radiating through my body, but especially my head. 'Sorrell, get up, you have to try and get up,' Alma encourages me. I manage to summon up enough strength to roll onto my back and I can feel the warm sensation of blood dripping down the side of my face. Before I can open my eyes, I’m enveloped by the sweet scent of lemon meringue and ele

Four Months Earlier A slender, yet curvaceous woman aimlessly floats in the air like a queen sitting on an invisible throne, with a stature of 7’2” with hair as gold as the sun in the peak of summer, creamy skin as smooth as silk, and eyes the colour of mercury. Her surroundings appear tedious to her formidable senses. “You kept me waiting,” she says, irritation coating her words as her companion finally arrives. The 7’1” woman before her with Eastern European features is unaffected by her irritation. Her fuchsia hair cascades down her back while stray hairs dance in the breeze, her liquid silver eyes shining with knowledge, against her warm bronzed skin. “You should try to master a little patience, it might do you some good,” the woman with fuchsia hair says teasingly. The woman with golden hair floats to the ground until her feet touch the forest floor, “I helped the little Alpha as you asked, Zarseti, but here’s the thing. The darkness I pulled from him did not come from an eyt
These last few months have been the most incredible months of my life, and I’m happy to report that the pack is flourishing more than ever. With Sorrell as my Luna, we have worked hard to whip this pack into shape. Since Sorrell took her oath and we completed our bond, we got straight to work. The entire pack officially participates in training. Even the children. The children have different days and times, so it doesn’t impact their sleep schedules and their schooling, and some parents were unsure at first, but the pups have taken to it with gusto, and guess who handles the pup's training? That would be my fantastic Luna. The pups love her and she’s perfect at it. She pushes them just enough to get them to where they need to be but is also gentle and patient with them. Roland would be far too strict. There was no one better suited for it than Sorrell, who continues to excel in her own training. One of my favourite things is watching Sorrell get dressed and strapping her sai to her l
What a week! Okay, you probably want an update, so here it is. Drum roll please… my mum has a wolf! She’s only shifted once and to say it was brutal is an understatement. It took seven hours for her to complete her first shift and her body is still adjusting to the changes. Dick has been making regular house calls to check on mum and make sure she’s okay. Mostly she stays in bed sleeping as her body goes through whatever it’s going through. Dad never leaves her side unless I force him to go shower or something, and even then he’s stubborn. I don’t have my Luna Spirit yet, so I have to have Alden use his Alpha Spirit just to make my dad take care of himself. Alma hasn’t gotten to speak to my mum’s wolf much, apparently, she’s sleeping a lot too. But I do know she’s a gorgeous 4’3” with a luscious grey and white coat and her name is Raeca. I’m sure Nero is dying to spend time with her, but the poor guy is stuck waiting until she and mum have their strength. Alden keeps checking on me,
The announcement to the pack went far better than I thought. A lot of people came up to me and congratulated me and some even came to ask what things I hoped to change in the pack and some even gave me suggestions on what they would like to see change. It was overwhelming at first, but then it quickly became a high. For all my life I wanted to see change occur in the pack and now I’m about to be someone with the power to make it happen. Alden and I both want life to be better for Omegas and he’s already taking steps to ensure that, but I think we can do more. I also think this entire packhouse needs a complete overhaul. For starters, I want to put the ‘pack’ back in ‘packhouse’. I want to open it to the pack. Encourage people to come and use the place to share meals, converse and have fun. There’s a room on the first floor that is mostly used by ranked members and sometimes warriors, it has a poker table, a pool table, and some other things. They use it to relax and have fun. We could
“Are you sure about this?” Asks Alden, giving my hand a firm squeeze. “If you keep asking me that I’m going to go home,” I answer in annoyance. He sighs, “I’m sorry, it’s just I know how anxious you are about becoming Luna, and as much as I want this, I don’t want to force you." I reach up, holding my hand to his cheek and smile when he leans into my touch, electricity dancing under my palm. “No one is forcing me to do anything. Yes, I am still nervous, but I refuse to be someone who lets their nerves get the best of them. Like you said, this is my destiny, and I’m tired of running from it.” Alden removes my hand from his cheek and places a soft kiss on the back of my hand, “Then let’s go do this, and I give you my complete support for you to break some noses if anyone tries to start something.” I chuckle, “Aww, you spoil me,” I say, jumping up and wrapping my arms around his neck and placing a chaste kiss on his lips. Before I can let go he wraps his arms around me holding me off
Waking up with Sorrell in my arms is the most blissful experience of my life. Her scent is everywhere, allowing me to just lay here holding her while I bask in it. As I watch her sleep peacefully I carefully reach out and brush a strand of hair from her face, and glance down at the crook of her neck. I wanted so badly to mark her last night, but the timing just didn’t feel right for some reason. Something in my gut told me to wait. After some time I hear her breathing change, and slowly she turns on her side towards me. Her eyes open briefly, and as they close again a lazy smile forms on her face. “What time is it?” she asks, tiredly. I trail my fingers up and down her arm, taking pleasure in the tingles that zap through my fingertips as I glance at the clock, “Just a little after seven.” “We’re late for training,” she says, snuggling closer, making no attempt to get out of bed. I chuckle, wrapping my arms around her, “I’d much rather be here with you. Roland doesn’t need me, they
It’s a short walk to the Alpha suite and I feel my heart pound. I’ve never been inside the Alpha suite; it feels like I’m stepping somewhere forbidden. He escorts me in and I’m quick to scan the room and take in every minute detail. There’s a living area, a dining area, and a kitchen area. It's a lovely space, except for the ghastly shade of avocado on the walls. Alden leads me straight past the living area, dining area and kitchen, straight into what I assume is his bedroom, but I’m second guessing that as soon as I see in inside. It’s all pink! Rose pink, I should say, but still. I never expected to see this colour in an Alpha’s bedroom. There’s a rose pink carpet and a small, raised platform leading up to the bed, which has a dusty pink bedspread. A feature wall behind the bed the same colour as the bedsheets and two full-length feature mirrors along each side of the feature wall with shelves in front. The walls have an interesting wallpaper that looks like cracked marble, there
As we reach the packhouse, Atlas lays flat allowing me to get off and I can see he’s about to shift back into Alden, so I throw my hands out in a ‘stop’ action, ‘Hold it!’ I say quickly. Atlas rises to his feet once again and looks at me quizzically. 'What’s wrong?' Alden asks through the link. I step into the packhouse through the backdoor and make a quick left into the laundry room. Atlas curiously follows behind me, poking his head in to see what I’m up to. I sniff around, picking up a pair of pyjama pants which from the scent I can tell are one hundred per cent Alden’s, and hold them up in front of Atlas. “Can’t have you waltzing through the packhouse in the nude. Aside from the fact I like that outside of shifting, no one has seen you intimately and I would like it to stay that way. Beyond that, I don’t think you questioning Romona will go over very well if you’re doing it while naked,” I point out. 'You just don’t want anyone laying eyes on what’s ours, and I am all for that.
