Realization

Daphne's POV

Falling asleep wasn't part of it, but I guess crying myself to exhaustion until I couldn't feel relieved anymore was it.

My hands strayed to the far end of the bed, devoid of warmth.

Sitting upright, my wavy hair dropped over my face as I kept contemplating on what I was going to do to bring Lorenzo back to me.

I should have told him the truth from the onset, but I guess fear had gotten the better of me and now, I had regrets.

Forcing myself up, a grunt escaped my lips when I pulled the drapes aside to see the hazy light which told me it wasn't dark yet, I had just been hallucinating. Everything had happened in the morning and it was still the same day.

The shrill of the phone piercing through my thoughts brought my dazed self back, my hands stretched out as I held it against my ears.

“ Yes…” I spoke out to which a shuffling sound ensued, followed by whistles.

“ Are you fine? You sound out of place”

My eyes stung with tears, but I forced them back. “Didn't you see
