Rose's phone rang and then stopped abruptly, startling her. She couldn't help but feel a growing unease in her eyes, becoming even more worried when the call abruptly ended. The fear of the unknown weighed heavier on her mind than whatever the caller had intended to say. She knew deep down that he would inquire about her whereabouts, questioning if she had finally arrived at the mansion. Sebastian's lack of concern had been evident thus far, hardly ever reaching out to her. However, this sudden call indicated a heightened level of involvement in her life, albeit for all the wrong reasons.

The vibration began again, causing Rose's unease to grow. She fixed her gaze on the phone resting on the table, contemplating the situation before her. Emily, sensing Rose's hesitation, urged her to answer the call. "Pick up the phone, Rose," she said softly, offering her support. "How bad could it be? Just l
