Twenty Two

Raven's POV

The warm water from the shower cascaded down my body, soaking my hair and skin as I stood still, letting the sensation calm my mind. I closed my eyes, taking in a deep breath, but it didn't do much to ease the tension that had been on my mind ever since Mason left for Margaret’s birthday party. I tried to stop myself from getting paranoid all night, but no matter what I did, I couldn't stop worrying about Mason. He left at 3 pm, and now it's 9 pm.

After a few more moments under the shower, I finally turned it off. The sound of the water running stopped abruptly, and I stepped out onto the cold bathroom floor. A white towel hung neatly on the rack, and I didn't waste a second before grabbing it, wrapping it around my body before drying off.
