Jill
I widened my eyes in shock, and suddenly began to cry within me. Why was she disagreeing? I thought they appreciated me.
Honestly, as soon as I entered the doctor's office and my eye caught theirs, the wife of the big guys I wanted to do the surrogacy for, had been eyeing me crazily like she had known me a really long time ago. She stared like I had done something unacceptable to her in the past. Who the heck was she? Rich people, so disgusting!
But at the point I was in my life, getting annoyed wasn't the best thing to do. I didn't even know the amount of money they were going to pay me. And staring at them, they seemed like they were going to give me some really great amount. And also, the doctor had said that it was their first child after three years of being married. I could imagine how determined they'd be. But with her actions, they weren't so determined after all.
"What are you saying Mrs Flores?" The doctor stood from his seat, looking so tired and frustrated. Goodness knew how hard it must have been for him to get them a surrogate.
"Trisha." Her husband called her name, standing up as well. "What's gotten into you again? Do you think this is a joke or something?" He frowned a little, looking tired as well. Judging from the little scenario, I could tell that the lady was somewhat troublesome.
As he called that name, it made me involuntarily fold my brows in puzzlement. If the doctor called her Mrs Flores, and her husband called her Trisha, did it mean that they were the...The Flores?! The famous billionaire in New York?! Oh my God! If that was it, then I was going to be paid a great deal of money. Jeez, this lady needed not to fuck the whole thing up. This was literally a great breakthrough for my family and I.
Her husband walked to me, seeming so worried by his wife's action. As he stood in my front, all I could think of was, 'What the heck? A big man like me standing in my front?!'
It frankly felt so amazing. How in the world did I get to be the surrogate of such great people?
"Ma'am." He called me, jolting me out of my thoughts. "I'm so sorry for this commotion. Don't feel discouraged to do this."
"Discouraged?!" I unknowingly squealed. Damn, I didn't want to do that.
But seriously, how could I refuse to do it. I ought to be begging them instead. I was going to be the surrogate of the 'Flores?' A billionaire's surrogate?
"N-no problem at all. I can understand your wife totally." I uttered again, and regretted spilling that out. I didn't even understand the crap at all? What was I saying? I needed to control myself really quickly.
"I...I mean...no problem at all. I'll wait to listen to her." I tried to cover up my craziness.
"Thank you." He swallowed, and turned back to his wife.
Looking at the guy, I felt a little bit of pity for him. He looked really concerned about his wife's actions. He also didn't seem egoistic, because he literally apologized to a middle class lady like me. So humble a person.
"Trisha dear." He caressed his wife's cheek as she stood like an angry robot, tucking her arms across her chest like she was undergoing a punishment. "Don't do this please. You already promised to agree to this, what happened again?"
I tried resisting the urge to roll my eyes and huff out badly. What a lucky husband she had. He was begging her to have their child? Yuck. Many rich dudes out there wouldn't have thought twice before punishing their wives, and threatening to send her away. What a beautiful soul he had.
I really appreciated him instantly. It was just so sad that he had such a crazy wife. She deserved to have the kind of boyfriend I used to have. My old guy, Moguel, was a weird and frustrating idiot. Although he was such a big and bad guy that every girl liked, he only ended up being a gay. That was really good for me actually.
"And what if I promised you?" The lady finally spoke. "It isn't fair to just do everything in a rush. You didn't give me enough chance to think a little."
Oh my, oh my. My body started to itch badly. She was starting to frustrate me too much. Couldn't she see that she was being opportuned to a lot of things. She wasn't going to have to carry a child in her belly for nine month, no constant medical treatment, no heavy load in her belly, no swollen boobs, no labor pain. And to wrap it all, she even had an adorable husband! Why couldn't she see the value of everything she had?!
"I'm so sorry for that dear." Her husband tried to convince her again, moving forward to soothe her wavy hair that was above her shoulder. "I understand you completely. It's just that we have limited time to this. This is a great opportunity to do what we need to do. Please Trisha."
I finally rolled my eyes, and breathed out to make them know that I was sick of their trash. No, of her trash.
"Can't we do this later?" She remained adamant, not even seeming like she was ready to go back on her words.
He moved closer to her, and cupped her tiny waist in his hands. "No dear. Let's do this please."
Her actions were only enraging me, and at the same time making me nervous. What if she wasn't going to agree? My mom? My Liam? My long effort? My great lie? No, no. Definitely not. This lady was going to ruin my great sacrifice.
"But no Jace. I don't feel like doing it now." She said again, obviously increasing the frustration rank of the already frustrated doctor. So sad. I pitied the old man.
"Please Trisha." The Jace guy continued to plead.
She turned to me, and eyed me with her ugly eyes. "I mean, look at her. How can this thing be the one to carry our long sought child?" She sputtered.
And, Oh. My. God. She called me a 'thing?' And yeah, that was it. My father, Shanice, my sister, my mother, had always taught me to know my right to deal with things. I couldn't let their favor ruin my self respect.
"Hello Madam." I called, obviously sounding flustered.
She turned to face me, pulling a 'who is this shit?' face. Woah, this lady didn't know she was speaking to an ass. A crazy ass.
"What?" She asked pointedly, showing so much uninterest.
I raised my hands, and snapped my finger in the air. "Excuse me lady. Could you be a little bit nice?" I requested, still trying to keep calm a little.
"Nice to a low class like you? A beggar? A shit?" She prattled. And that increased the scale of my boiling body.
"You are so mean." I cried silently amid clasped teeth, unable to hide my wrath any longer.
She walked past her husband and sauntered to my front, wearing a smirk. An intimidating and vexatious one.
"Who are you? So a crap like you needs some respect?" She folded her arms across her chest, keeping her smirk.
I scoffed in disgust. It was obvious that she didn't know the kind of person she was speaking to. "So a barren like you needs some respect?" I uttered, leaving her to gape with no word spilling out of her mouth as she moved her lips back and forth.
That was a fifty to fifty. My words left her speechless. I knew it was so wrong to insult a lady in that form, but when it dealt with my self respect, any word, be it bad or good, could be said by me.
And wow, I didn't know what I was doing. I actually needed to work for them.
Her angry and intimidating look turned into a total sulk. She obviously wanted to cry. And good for me, that was victory. Victory for almost getting intimidated by a mean idiot.
I linked my arms to each other, and settled it on my chest, wearing the simper that she had worn before. It was my turn. No shit could speak badly to me and go freely. No shit.
"Jace!" She was finally able to cry, hurrying to her husband like a child who was about to weep for a chocolate. "Y-you see what this thing is doing? She's insulting me."I kept my simper, and badly tried to refrain from the itch to burst into laughter. She was actually crying like my Liam. That was a really weird thing from a grown up lady like her. I guessed it was one thing about rich people. They always pretended to be some strong guys, but they were truly fragile. Her husband, Jace, didn't say anything but stare at her, looking so concerned for some reason. I was surprised by that because I expected him to yell back at me. His actions were so shocking. I thought all affluent and cute guys were cold all the time. Wow.She screwed up her face at him and hit against his arm, which clearly made him jerk out of his thoughts. I wondered what he was thinking. The doctor turned to me,
Jace"What else do you want sir?" My secretary, Brittany, questioned again, arranging the jumbled files she had in her hands.I sighed, almost getting frustrated as she kept on asking that. "Nothing." I said. "I'm fine for now. I'll let you know if I need anything. Ok?""O--ok sir." She stuttered, and trampled out of my office.I shook my head in disgust of how clumsy she always was, and decided to ignore it. No matter how tired or frustrated I could ever be, I never wanted to vent it on anyone.I leaned the back of my head against my chair, and breathed out heavily again. I was just so tired of everything that was going on in my life. After the day we went to the hospital for an implantation, every other day had been so terrible for me. Trisha started off by refusing to talk to me and also disturbed every of the worke
I gulped in, my chest vibrating from my hard heart beats, and my fingers turning cold as a result of my shivering state. Couldn't I seriously be my normal self? It literally wasn't the first time I'd have doubt about a particular thing. Why was I even so nervous?"Hello Mr Ford." I was finally able to say something. "How are you doing sir?""Oh hi there." He greeted in his usual serious tone. "I'm doing very great. And you?""Oh me? I--I'm doing fine." I lied, stuttering like I was being threatened to not speak."Alright then."He was quiet for a while, and that somewhat annoyed me. I could sense that he was doing something else over the phone. Did he think I was in for such shit?"So why did you call me now? What's up?" I broke the silence, being so impatient. He still remained silent, exacerbating my confused and quaking sel
JillI froze like a Christmas tree and gawked as Jace rested his head on my shoulder. What was going on? Was this man crazy?"Thank you." He broke the weird silence between us. "Thank you so much."As he held my waist, and as there was barely an inch between us, my heart raced like I was about to be murdered. How could he seriously be hugging me? And also, why was he thanking me?"M-mr. Flores?" I gripped in fear. "Is there something wrong? W-why are you so close to me?"He flinched as he held me, and gasped like he realized something, opening his eyes widely like a drunk man who suddenly became sober."Miss Grayson." He called in almost a whisper. "I'm so sorry. I'm so so sorry."That was it. This man was a confused person, and was causing a confusion for me as well.I lifted a brow at him,
ShaniceWalking into Aiden's street in the late evening, I heaved out a sigh of tiredness.Life was a definition of "stress" to me. I had hardly had time for myself or even my family. All I did was to work from morning till night, or go on one errand or another. I hadn't even seen Aiden in a few days. I only hoped he wasn't going to be annoyed as usual. And most especially, I hoped he was at his place and not his dad's. He didn't give me any information on his location. In a really short while, I got to his apartment and halted at his door before knocking on it. I inhaled and checked myself really well. I didn't want my boyfriend to think he had a low class and dumb girlfriend when it came to dressing up.After a thorough check on myself, I pressed the doorbell and patiently waited for him to respond, tugging my bag against my arm in a little nervousness.
Jace"Hey Brittany, get all those files and take the rest of the day off." I announced to my secretary as I smiled hard, and stood up to get some books on my shelf. She remained in her posture, and acted like she was shocked by my statement. "S-sir. Are you sure of what you're saying?" Her tone was shaky.I twirled my neck to face her as she stood by my office door, and corked an eyebrow at her. "You heard me right? What else?"She gauged an anxious laughter. "Of course sir. I heard you. I mean, this is only two o'clock, and you want me to take the day off. You still have a lot of things to do."I chuckled at my young secretary and tucked my hands in my suit trouser pocket, walking to stand in front of her. I smiled at her unsteadiness as she stood, and lifted one of my hands to pat her shoulder."What's the problem? C
Jill's POV"Enjoy this ok?" I dropped a mini sized burger in front of Liam's small table and smiled as he licked his lips."This looks yummy mommy." He grinned like he just got a huge reward for doing something great. "Thank you."I bent to peck his cheek, "you're welcome," and made my way back to the kitchen to finish my cleanup. As I stepped into the kitchen, I felt a tingling pain by my lower abdomen. It felt like a menstrual pain, but a more critical one. And, I was so sure it couldn't be a monstral pain because I was pregnant. From my observation and thoughts, I could tell that it was as a result of the tiny thing I was carrying in my uterus. Sincerely, it was a complete inconvenience. Even though it was only a few weeks since I started to carry their child, it felt like a year already. How was I going to continue living like that till the
Staring confoundedly at him, the next thing I could think of was to burst into laughter. I seriously hadn't heard of such before. I was literally not the first surrogate on Earth. Why was I being treated like a child then?"Oh Mr Jace. Or whatever you call your name." I stopped laughing, and stretched my hand to poke his chest, causing him to flinch a little. "You're one crazy human. Swears.""Pardon?" He frowned a little. On seeing his eyebrows curving into that disgusting scowl of his, I got infuriated even more. How dare he get annoyed at me? Was he crazy?"Hey." My tone was almost in a shout, but I tried as much as possible to speak silently because of my sick mom. "Are you getting annoyed at me? Who are you? Do I even know your shit self? You want me to stay with you? What do you think will happen? You wanna try to…" I interrogated immensely, sounding so irritated. But before I coul
Oh my gosh! Finally! It's over! It's a wrap! I'm done with this book! Woohoo! Thanks to God! Phew! This took me two months to write. And you know what? It wouldn't have been a success if you guys didn't support me. To be honest, I was kind of nervous to start this book, wondering if it would be a nice story. But because of your wonderful comments, it encouraged me to write it. Seriously, you need to know how important a reader's comment can be. It's like saving a person from drowning(lol π). Your support really made me feel the need to write more. I'm so so grateful to you all! Really grateful! This is my second book on Goodnovel, and I'm glad it's now completed. If you don't mind, you can read my other completed book; HIS ARRANGED WIFE. That one's kind of strict. ππ To those who commented frequently, thanks so much! And to the ghost readersπ, thanks too! You all are so wond
Three years later…Jill——"Common!" Jace cried from our bed, groaning at himself.I turned to look at him, and shot him a playful glare. "Are you serious? Just get you damn ass off here."He rolled his eyes, and jumped from the bed. And as he sauntered to me, my eyes glued to his sharp, rock abs, that lined so much as his shirt glued to his body. Moving my eyes down to his lap, I noticed that his cock was crying for help, standing so firm under his sweatpants. I hissed at him, and returned to staring at the mirror."You had better go to the bathroom," I teased, slipping my robe off. "Today's Shanice wedding, so I need to leave early. There's no time for that.""Just for a few minutes. It'll be a quickie," he continued to convince me.I grumbled. And before I
Wandering in front of the door of the hospital room Jill was, I worried so much, being really unstable. I couldn't think of anything to do, or didn't know how to react. What if Trisha sent someone to poison Jill just like she had poisoned her boyfriend? My mom walked to me, looking equally worried. "My boy," she called, and took my hands in hers. "Let's be hopeful. Nothing will go wrong with her. She'll be fine."I nodded my head even though I was still doubtful. I couldn't have any hope at the moment because I was the only one around who knew how bad Trisha was."Ok." I inhaled deeply. "I'll try to be hopeful. At least, it's not like I've got any other choice.""Good then." She smiled weakly, and walked back to Jill's mom who was crying already. Why was she crying? It wasn't even like Jill was dead.Seeing how fearful everyone was, I became more angry, then stomped to the
It was exactly eight minutes to twelve o'clock. I hurried out of my car, and rushed out of the parking lot in the church, not even waiting for my bouncers to reach me first. On getting to the front door of the church, I sighted Jill and her mother, and that made me so relieved. To be sincere, I had been thinking about Trisha's threat all along. What if she was actually going to do something again? But well, now that I had seen that Jill was fine, there was no need to worry."Dude you're late!" Ace complained, walking fast to me. "Jill's been so worried. What happened? The final trial wasn't supposed to take that long."I shut my eyes, then exhaled loud. And opening it, it met Jill's. Shit, I didn't want her to see me."Jace!" She cried, holding her long gown, and stomping to me. I was almost lost in noticing how beautiful she was, but I decided to not pay attention to that. I was too late
Three months later…"Mr. Flores!" Brittany barged into my office, holding a bunch of files in her hands, and rushing to my table. "The final judgement on the Miss Maxwell case is only in thirty minutes! You've got to get to the court soon!""What?! Thirty minutes?!" I hopped from my seat, and slammed my palm against my office desk. "How come you didn't tell me? Jeez, you've not been doing your job so well.""Me?" She bulged her eyes out at me, sounding quite informal. "I've come here to remind you, for the fourth time now. I even got to work by six, in order to ensure you don't miss it.""Oh shit!" I hit my fist against the table. "How'll I get there in the next thirty minutes?"She creased her face, seeming quite infuriated. "Hum, I think you'll get there sooner, if you stop speaking.""Are you shunning me?" I raised an eyebrow at me.
I shoved the thick white towel I had used to dry my hair, on my neck, and ran my fingers through my wet hair. Wrapping another towel around my naked waist, I stepped out of the bathroom. As soon I stepped into the room of the hotel I was, the first thing my eyes caught was Jill. She was sitting on the bed, tugging her knees to her chest, and digging her head in between them.I breathed out via my mouth, and walked to her. She had been crying since I told her Trisha killed her friend. I tried to console her so much, but she didn't want to stop crying. I also made love to her a few minutes ago, expecting her to feel relief, but instead, she cried more. What could I do?"Jill." I sat on the space beside her on the bed.As soon as she heard my voice, she flinched, and rubbed her face, not looking at me in the eye. "You're done bathing?" She asked.I soothed th
Unable to get my eyes off the screen, I unknowingly pinched the skin of my hand. It still seemed like some kind of weird dream. I had watched it for the third time, but still, I was doubting what I was seeing."Sir," the monitor guy called, causing me to jerk from my seat to turn to him. "You— you've been watching it for a while now. Don't you think you should give the footage to the police, already?"I shot him a glare, which made him avert from looking into my eyes. "Is it your problem?" I questioned him, harshly, even though I knew he was right. Well, I couldn't be blamed for my cruelty. I was in a state of shock. To aggravate my shock, not only did I discover that Trisha killed the guy who was her boyfriend. I also discovered that she was the one who killed Jill's friend. I couldn't even think of how Jill would react if she found out about it.Trisha was indeed a terrible person. Like
I stared at the investigators as they scrutinized the room the culprit had died. It was almost eleven in the night, but I wanted to make sure to get what I needed to before day break. To be honest, I was so tired already, but I just couldn't risk my work, so I had to stay awake.I had bought this hotel a few weeks back, although it wasn't important to have it. I particularly bought it so Jill and I would spend the first day of our future honeymoon here. It was a decent and serene place for couples to relax in. The views from the balconies were so good, and I could tell that Jill would love it so much. I guessed I bought the place for her."Mr. Flores," someone called my name from behind.I exhaled faintly, and turned to the direction of the voice. As expected, it was one of the investigators. "Yes?" I replied. He walked closer to me, using a hanky to hold an empty glass cup. "Sir&he
Jace——Working on my laptop, I sat on my bed, and grabbed my phone to call my secretary. Shortly, I dialed her number, and waited for her to answer her phone as it rang."Hello sir. Good evening," she greeted, sounding quite grumpy. Ok, I could understand why she'd be grumpy. It was Sunday, and I was about to ask her to work?"I'm so sorry Brit," I apologized first, smiling at the tiredness in her voice. It was the first time I heard her sound so apathetic over the phone. Brittany was a really hard working person, and I so much liked her for it. Although I called her by her first name, I still gave her the full respect she deserved. I just wasn't used to being so formal with people I always stayed around with. It was one of the reasons I asked Jill to call me Jace, instead of Mr. Flores."There's no problem sir. What do you need?
