Chapter 2

"Realize Barbara, Gama may look bad right now, but who has helped our family? Who has kept me patient and mentally strong since Grandpa and Dad died? Gama has always been there for me. Not just for me, she's been there for everyone in this house, including you, your husband, and your son. Do you see her? No, you didn't! You were blind to it, blind to everything Gama did. You can't see it because of your selfishness!" Sierra forgot all her emotions. Until her breath caught. Then Sierra continued.

"And now, when Gama has a problem, you demean and insult her. You even want her to leave this house. Don't you have a heart and feelings for her? You only think about your reputation. You're such a hypocrite!"

"Siera!" shouted Audie.

PLAK...

A hard slap landed on Sierra's cheek, leaving regret on Audie's face.

"Si-Sierra ...."

Gama was quite surprised to see her. She wanted to go to Sierra but decided against it when she heard Sierra speak again.

"Slap! Slap Sierra again ma'am! And may that slap make you realize that my and Gama's marriage is a mandate from Grandpa. It's a big sin if we break it. Grandpa is your in-law, mom. He loved all of you very much during his lifetime, so please honor his last words as a final sign of our respect for him." Sierra pleaded with tears streaming down her face.

"Why should we honor someone like your grandfather, Sierra? Look at our lives, we are now poor. Grandpa left nothing for us. They took over everything. That's not fair. It's all because of your grandfather, your father, the husband you defended. Wake up, Sierra. Gama doesn't deserve you; she's just a disgrace to our family," Audie said accusingly.

"Mom, Gama-"

"Shut up, Gama!" Audie interrupted, snapping, glaring hatefully. "You have no right to talk anymore!" Audie's gaze showed hatred.

"Mom, we all know why we are like this. It's not our father's, grandfather's, or Gama's fault. It's their fault for taking what is rightfully ours. They are bad people, mom."

Still angry and shaken from the previous conversation, Audie issued a firm request. Her eyes were filled with anger and disappointment as she said, "I don't care; all I know is that you should divorce Gama and then marry Jordan. If you refuse, don't ever think of me as your mother again!"

Audie walked away with steady steps, leaving Sierra with a difficult choice. Silence fell over the room, and Sierra felt a heavy emotional weight.

Sierra stood on the windowsill, staring blankly out the window.

 Gama, who saw Sierra in a state of indecision and hurt, felt a deep pain. She could bear the reproaches and insults of others, but seeing the woman she loved hurt in her heart was something she could not accept.

With eyes full of determination, Gama spoke to Sierra, "I swear on your behalf, Sierra. These are the last tears of sorrow you will shed for me, and the next tears will be tears of joy."

 Sierra turned her head, looking at Gama sadly.

Gama walked over to Sierra while looking into her blue eyes filled with sadness, causing great pain in her heart. Then she wiped Sierra's tears on her cheeks, and without any disgust, Gama swallowed the tears on her fingers.

Gama's aura suddenly dominated, making Sierra attracted to Gama's handsome face. Thick eyebrows, a sharp nose, and a firm jaw dominated Gama's thin-haired face. His brown eyes made Sierra unable to look away.

They had been married for six years, but only now did Sierra realize her husband's good looks.

"I-I-"

Gama cut off Sierra's words by placing her index finger on her lips, silencing her sentence. Those round blue eyes blinked repeatedly, and Game couldn't resist kissing them. A soft peck landed on Sierra's closed eyes.

"I'll give you happiness; keep away the bad things that will make you hurt. And I'll also give you anything you want, even the world. But give me one chance to change everything."

Sierra looked at Gama and replied. "I don't want anything, Gama. I want to be respected by everyone. Not be belittled and made fun of like I am now. I'm tired, I'm tired, Gama. I want everyone to bow down to us. I want them to know that we don't deserve to be belittled," Sierra's voice sounded hoarse as if she was carrying a burden in her heart because of the insults of the people who had belittled her due to Gama's failure to maintain her company.

"Alright, I'll grant all your requests. Give me time; it won't take long, but I'm sure I can take you to the top of the world." Gama replied confidently.

"What are you going to do, Gama?"

"I'm going to do something that will change our lives in your favor."

"What does that mean?"

 Gama didn't answer; she let go of Sierra's hand and walked away.

"Hey, where are you going?" Audie asked in a snapping tone as he saw Gama pass in front of him. 

"Are you leaving? Did Sierra kick you out already? Good. But before you go, sign the divorce papers first!"

 Audie continued to yell, but Gama ignored him and continued walking, leaving Audie to wonder

What happened to that boy? How strange.
