Chapter 3

2024-10-29 19:42:56Alissa woke up with a stinging pain on her wrist. She opened her eyes to see that the nurse was putting a syringe inside of it. She again closed her eyes, scared that she will faint if she will see it. Suddenly, someone held her right hand. She opened her eyes, her sister Jade was sitting there. A tear slipped out of Jade's eye. The nurse quickly did the medical checkups and left.
"Have you eaten something?" Alissa asked.
"Why are you so caring? You are in this condition and still, you are worried about me" Jade sobbed.
"I care for you because you are my only one in this life. You know how much I care for you" Alissa hold Jade's hand and kissed it.
The doctor came a few moments later.
"Hello Alissa, I am Dr Clark. How are you feeling now?" He asked.
"Better...When can I leave the hospital?" Alissa asked, as she was fed up with staying here. The room was suffocating her.
"By tomorrow" Doctor said. After some conversation regarding medical checkup, he left.
Meanwhile, Eric who was living his best life till now, is thinking about how his life is going to change. He was pissed. How could someone's father do like this with his child? Eric was laying on his bed. His face buried in the pillow. Suddenly, he heard the sound of, that someone opened his door. He didn't take the pain of looking at the person, cause he knew it will be no one, other than his mom.
He felt the bed dip beside his exposed area of the bed. His mother Josephine Williams.
She was in her early fifties. She still looks young, if you compare her to her age. Her blond hair, comes to her shoulder. She still does not have a wrinkle on her face."What do you want now mom?" Eric asked in an annoyed tone.
"See you've already brok-" Eric cut her off by saying
"Mom I don't give a shit for that vase. If you think that it's okay to rule my life, then I also find it is okay to let out my frustrations my own way" Eric raised his voice a little while saying this.
"Look, Eric, we want the best for you. We are your parents. We care for you, only you can't see that"
"If you really care about me, then stop this bloody nonsense. I don't want to get married to Cheryl" Eric shouted.
"Our decision is final. Better show some respect towards us. Cause you are not in kindergarten that we will teach you these manners. They are coming in a few weeks. Don't create some stupid drama there" Josephine said sternly. She stomped her foot on the ground and left the room and closed the door with a thud.
Eric slowly drifted off to sleep.
Eric woke up with the bright light of sunlight on his face, he groaned and scratched his head. He went into the bathroom and brushed his teeth and took a nice shower. He wrapped the towel around his waist, which was hanging dangerously low. He started to look at himself in the full-size mirror of his room.
He smirked, cause he knew it very well that he has got killer looks. He got dressed. He went outside of his room, he was in no mood of having breakfast. He took his car key and started to walk out of the house.
"Have a go-" Josephine was saying, but he intentionally cut her off by closing the door behind him. He sat into his Lamborghini and drove off to his company.
As he stepped inside, everyone got silent. It felt like no one was in the company. The receptionist greeted him with a cheeky wink. He smirked and winked back. He stepped inside the elevator and pressed the 44-floor button.
He fixed his tie and went into his cabin. Actually, it was as large as his room. He even had one room in his cabin. There was also a small library, a dressing room, and his chair was of leather. There was also a small cocktail room in there. He started to do his work and was focused on it.
He heard a knock on the door.
"Come in" Eric said in a very professional tone. His secretary came inside wearing a small black skirt and a red top. She came inside with a smile and but also seemed kind off, maybe a little high. But her bad that he was not the same Eric today.
"Don't you know that it is a company, not a strip club that you are doing this shit? You are not even making me feel like that I have a little bit of anticipation of having you right now. You don't even do any work properly. You know what. You are fired" Eric's voice boomed. His secretary's jaw dropped. She turned around and left.
The day went by. His friend Josh came inside without asking though. "Hey! you did good to fire her. I also never liked her much"
Josh said laughing. "I want a new secretary within four days and that's an order" Eric said.

Alissa woke up, looking at the alarm clock at 7:15. She quickly got up from her bed and took a shower. She wrapped the towel around her body and opened her closet. She was fiddling with her clothes, still thinking about what to wear. She finally decided to wear a black v-neck top and a white pencil skirt. Her hair are naturally curly, so she just did a little bit of touch up in that and made them look presentable.She wore a smoking eyeshadow and light pink lipgloss. She looked at the time 8:10. She quickly planted a kiss on her sister's cheek."All the best" Jade said."Thanks" Alissa smiled and went downstairs, and quickly locked the door with the spare key. She sat in a cab and told that driver the place. After 20 minutes, she reached there. She paid the amount and went inside the company. There was a receptionist, who was chewing gum. She was not looking much bothered about what was happening around her.
