Getting outside, I met Maynard standing beside the door and I gasped.

I held the small phone to my body and he laughed. 

" So, this is the small phone my secretary is using? "He asked mockingly and I snorted.

" No, This is not my phone, I forgot my android phone at home, That's why I'm left with this, And why did you think this is the only phone I have?, I'm from a noble background, We are quite rich "I rambled on but stopped immediately I lied.

Waittt, What did I just say?

We are rich??

" Really? "He asked and I pressed my lips together before answering.

" Yes "I nodded like a baby and he folded his arms.

" Who are you talking to?, You look so happy "He asked and I smiled again.

" My best male friend, Gael, He's coming over for my birthday, And I'm so happy "

" Whatever "He mumbled and walked to his seat.

I shrugged and walked to the small kitchen-like room so as to make his coffee.

" She look so happy when talking to him, Who could it be? "I asked loudly and slap my head. 

Why am I thinking so much about her?

She's not my girlfriend, Just a worker.

Not Long after, she came back with the coffee and dropped it on the table before leaving for her office.

I got to the house later at night, I told my mom about the new job and fleur as well.

We planned to meet up at the popular restaurant so we can talk well.

I applied some lip gloss on my face and smiled, I look a little bit pretty now. 

After checking my dress well, I picked my small bag before running out of the house.

Soon, I got to the restaurant and met her waiting for me already.

I rushed to her and gave her a little peck.

Fleur scoffed and dropped the cutleries on the table.

" What happened?, Why are you sad? "I asked and she pouted.

" Brady broke up with me the evening, Because I refused to meet up with his demands" She explained sadly and I scoffed.

" His demands?, Which demands? "I asked and she sighed.

" Se*x, Money, Attentions and everything, I told him I just got a job and it's hard for me to keep up with everything so that's why I couldn't give him the money he asked for "

" Are you nuts or what?, you were sad because a guy who had nothing to offer you in a relationship broke up with you?, You should be happy "I said rolling my eyes and she sighed.

The Next Morning.....

I rushed into the company and met the lizard face gawping at me.

After I glared at her, I scurried to the stairs and opened the door to his office without knocking.

" You're late again? "He said immediately I got there and nodded.

" Yes, I'm sorry "I apologized and dropped my bag on the table.

He sighed and walk up to me.

He pulled me by my waist and my eyes widened.

Moving his lips closer to my face, I closed my eyes and gasped when I felt his breath on my ear.

" Happy Birthday Magnoila "He whispered and wrapped his hand around my waist.

I smiled and let out a soft breath before wrapping my hand around his waist.

So, he remembered my birthday?

" Thank you sir "I replied smiling and he pulled away.

" You can go to your office and start the work of the day "

" Sure, I will, thank you "I mumbled and hugged him again,I pulled away immediately when he's not reciprocating it and he's my boss as well.

" I'm sorry, I will leave now "I stuttered before leaving the office.

I don't know why I hugged her, But I felt something bring triggered in me, The sensations,I felt it.

That's the reason why I pulled away from her.

Gosh!, I need to be far away from this lady.

I don't want to have anything to do with her.

Evening; Closing time.

I picked my bag and Magnoila entered the office with the files I requested for.

I will work on that once I get home.

" I'm ready to go sir, or is there anything you want me to do? "She asked and I shook my head.

" No, you can go "I mumbled and she bowed before rushing out of the office.

I overhead her conversations with Gael yesterday, And I'm sure she's going to meet him.

I took a deep breath before leaving the office and Mr. Mateo collected the bag.

" Sir, I saw Miss. Magnolia going now, Is there a problem? "He asked and took a deep breath.

" I don't know "I answered simply.

" Hey, Fleur, I'm ready "I mumbled before arranging my hair properly.

" Sure, I'm at your gate "

" Alright, I will join you soon "

Getting to the gate, She gasped immediately she set her eyes on me and I whirled around.

" You're so beautiful, I'm sure you're not going on a date, This is just a birthday party "

" Yes, And I need to dress well, Today is my day "I screamed and she laughed.

" I know, The taxi is waiting for us, We need to go "

We got to the venue and Gael walked out to meet me.

I rushed and hugged him tightly but he received it coldly.

I pulled back immediately and he smiled.

" Hey, how are you? " I asked softly and he nodded. 

" I'm good, Happy Birthday "

" Thank you, Who's this?" I asked referring to the lady beside him and he smiled.

" That's my fiancee, We are getting married this month, And you're highly invited "He said smiling and I scoffed.

" Is this a joke? "

" Hi, Magnoila, I know you must be quite shocked about this because he's your male best friend and you have a crush on him but I don't think he might be able to return the feeling because he's getting married, I'm Alena, Nice meeting you "

" Gael, Did you call Magnoila here to insult her or you want to celebrate her birthday for her? "Fleur asked angrily and a tear slipped down my eye.

I took a deep breath before running out of the scene.

" I will make sure you regret this for the rest of your life, For toying her feelings, You will regret this "I heard Fleur yelled and I burst into tears.

" Hey, wait for me "I heard Fleur yelled and I stopped immediately.

She got to where I am and I burst into another round of tears.

" I told you not to be so happy about this, Now, see what this has caused for you "She said softly and I nodded.

" It's fine, I'm sorry for stressing you, you should be going, it's late already, We will talk tomorrow "

" Huh..., I should leave you like this?, you don't look fine to me "

" Respect my decision for once, Don't go after me, I will be fine "I mumbled and walked out of her immediately.

She called after me but I refused to listen to her.

I branched at a beer shop to cool off my mind.

The barman kicked me out of the shop and I laughed.

Gosh!, I'm drunk and I can't see anything!

I walked dizzily through the streets, Laughing and crying at the same time.

" Hey, watch where you're going! "A scooter yelled and pushed me away the road, i screamed and fell on the floor with my eyes widened.

Wait..., Floor...

The floor is soft...

" Who are you? "I asked and belched noisily.

" Let's go home, Magnoila "A soft voice mumbled wrapping his hands around me and I smiled.

The face looks familiar and the voice as well.

He wrapped his hands around me protectively and a tear slipped down my eye.

" Maynard "I whispered and he sighed.

" Let's go home, You need to rest "He mumbled and I collapsed in his arms.
