Wyatt was helping Hailee out of the car when his father came home. Hailee leaned against him weakly, her small hands encircled around his strong arm. His father saw the loving couple and his expression immediately changed. He shook his head and sighed before he enter the mansion.
Wyatt and Hailee noticed that he was displeased with the fact that he brought home his lover.
"Wyatt, I'm afraid your grandfather will get mad again if he sees me. Why don't I stay inside a nearby hotel instead?" Hailee's gentle voice made Wyatt's heart ache. He refused to let her feel wronged again. This time, he was very determined to protect and make her his wife no matter what his grandfather and father might say.
"Hailee, don't worry about that. I'll give him an explanation," he took both her hands and gave them an affectionate squeeze.
"But Wyatt," she called his name affectionately. "I feel very bad if I accidentally upset Miss Ria. I'm afraid or might cause some misunderstand and your father doesn't seem to like me," she pouted worriedly.
"Don't worry about my father or Ria. It's over between us. I'll convince my dad to agree to our marriage," his soft and gentle voice made Hailee relaxed. She was relieved that he was by her side. Hailee nodded at his words and leaned her head against his muscled chest.
"Hailee, why are your hands so cold? Hurry. You must come inside and warm yourself," he felt her hands. He was extremely concerned for her. He ignored anything about his wife as Hailee was his priority.
"If I go in like this, won't your wife become angry? I'm afraid she might misunderstood," Hailee looked up at the handsome man with doll-like eyes.
"Hailee, you should stop thinking about her. I know you are kind and feel sorry for her but you need to think of your health too. Besides, we are getting divorce soon," he happily led her into the mansion.
Soon, he would be free of Ria and he would be able to marry Hailee, the gentle woman whom he had loved for many years. It was time to give Hailee what she deserved after all those suffering she had been through. Wyatt knew that life wasn't easy for Hailee. He had made her wait for him so long.
The servants and maids stood on both sides, bowing their heads low with respect for the master's lover. Everyone gave Hailee a grand welcome. Even Ally and Gloria were present to welcome Hailee. They treated her like she was some celebrity or big shot. It s doubt that Hailee came from a wealthy family. Her father was a good friend of Joe Earlson, Wyatt's father. She was rich and powerful as well so naturally everyone were in favour of her.
Ally and Gloria followed the couple behind as they made their way into the mansion. Their faces were glowing with so much happiness that one could mistaken them as light bulbs. Hearing it from her son's mouth, Gloria couldn't express her happiness. That useless country girl was finally gone, she sang in her heart. She, too, didn't understand why her husband's father would choose Ria. Back then when the old man suddenly announced their wedding, she was the first to complain and voice out her opinions. But no matter what she said or do, no one paid her any attention because the old man's words were final.
Gloria wished that the old man would have a heart attack when he hears of the divorce. She smiled wickedly to herself. Some chaos was sure to follow and she would surely relish in that. Her husband should be home by now. Gloria turned to Wyatt and said," I'll go check on your father. He seems grumpy,"
"Okay, mom," Wyatt replied. Then she headed up the beautiful spiral staircase.
Wyatt took off Hailee's thin coat and passed it to his assistant. Then he led her to the fireplace where she warmed herself. Dinner was getting ready at this time so Hailee agreed to having dinner with them after Wyatt persuaded her for a long time. She was still afraid that Ria might get upset and misunderstand something.
Just before dinner, the butler came over to inform Wyatt. His face was pale as if he had seen a ghost.
"Sir! Sir!" The butler, Mr Stone ran over to him.
"What's wrong? Why are you shouting like this?" He sounded irritated. Hailee has just gotten back from overseas and she needed some rest. He was afraid that the noise might disturb her rest.
"Sir, your wife has left! She didn't take her luggage and went out into the rain!"
Wyatt was alarmed at Mr Stone's words.
"What!? Then what about the divorce agreement?" He inquired. He seemed to be more worried about the divorce papers than her.
"She signed her name on the divorce papers but she didn't take any of the money or the house you gave her!" The butler expressed his disbelief.
Wyatt was so shocked to the core. If she didn't take anything, not even her luggage, then what did she want from him? That house that he gave her was with millions! Somehow, he felt angry.
When his grandfather first asked him to marry Ria, he thought that she had played some tricks to make his grandfather obey her. He had met many women in his life, all wanting to sleep with him for his wealth and power. He was used to getting attention from women. He was sure that Ria fall into the same category as those women.
"Where is she?" He demanded.
"I don't know, sir. We can't find her anymore," his butler answered, looking at the polished marble floor. To be honest, Mr Stone liked Ria because she was respectable and kind to everyone. She wasn't like the other women he had seen who would come clinging to his master.
"Find her. I want to know her whereabouts," he ordered.
"Yes, sir," the butler went to contact Ricky.
"She's gone? Oh, that's wonderful!" Ally exclaimed. Earlier that day, she had insulted Ria and watched her stomp off, probably in shame. She had never expected Ria to talked back to her but it seems that those words she said earlier were empty threats. Ally was confident that Ria couldn't do any harm to her. She thought that the dumb street girl would go and cry herself dry in the kitchen or her room. Who knew that she actually abandoned her luggage and left through the back door?! Ally wanted to laugh and thank the heavens for giving her such a wonderful gift. That girl was good as gone and she hoped for her to stay that way forever. Ria shall never step for into this family ever again. Ria was an eyesore to her family of billionaires! Ally had never bothered to hide her disdain and contempt for Ria. Everyone in the family were on both mother and daughter's side when it comes to Ria. Ria was often bullied and picked on for every single little thing she did wrong. Wyatt's mother an
It was raining cats and dogs as Ria made her way out the back door. Not to mention how cold the weather has become. She wanted to minimize the chances of bumping into her ex husband's lover. She did not want to see nor meet the woman her ex husband loved so much. It was like slapping herself in the face. She had literally thrown away her luggage after the pair of sinister mother and daughter insulted and humiliated her. She even talked back to them, fed up with their heartless taunts. She realized that she didn't need anything from the Earlson family. She was on all her own. Before she divorce her husband and left, Gloria and Ally made sure to laugh and mock her. Ria wanted to laugh at her foolishness. What did she expected from him? Love? His care? His smiles? Or his gentleness like how he treated his lover? He had never treated her like how he treated Hailee. She thought she could make his cold heart warm with sincerity, but it seemed that she had overestimated herself."Don't th
After the man had assisted Ria into her car, she was given some hot chocolate to warm up herself. The driver noted that he couldn't bring a frail woman home to his master, so he had to do his best to serve her. Ria sat in the back seat, wrapped with a thick warm blanket. She was hiccuping and sniffing although tears no longer poured from her eyes. A few rain drops beat against the window as the driver sped off. The rain was starting to slow down. Occasionally, the driver would glance at the mirror to check on her, worry etched across his fair and handsome face. Her empty and lifeless eyes made the driver's heart squeezed in on itself. He felt pity and pained seeing her so abused and neglected. Ria didn't know when she fall asleep but when she woke up and rubbed the grogginess out of her eyes, she saw that it was no longer night. A long line of men in black suit stepped out of their respective cars and formed a neat formation at the front of the restaurant. Everyone was gawking at them as they were the center of attention. People began to whisper and gossip. A young man wearing a luxurious glittery jacket approached the restaurant where Ria and Thomas stood. Soon, another man older than the first came over to Ria. "Aaron, Benedict," Ria's voice was soft. It felt so surreal seeing all her three brothers come to pick her up. They all doted on her and adored her. "Hello, little Ria, grandpa wants to see you," Benedict said. Ria haven't seen her brothers for years. They looked very differently to her now - matured, more handsome, strong and trustworthy. She nodded. She missed grandpa too. "It's about time you return to where you belong and take back what you left five years ago," Benedict said. "I hope you are doing well, sister. Geez, you looked like you've seen a ghost! Come with us for a makeover!" Aaron ex
She came home from her lowly paid job and made her way through the glass doors of a magnificent large mansion. One would think that she was a maid or housekeeper judging from the way she was dressed.
