Kidnapped

Maya's pov

Reggie walked close and gave his assistant, Arturo, a box[Containing a cellphone and a romantic letter]

He whispered, "Give this to Maya," before approaching me.

"I would keep in touch, I promise." He smiled and kissed my forehead.

"But how? Why don't you just take me with you?" I couldn't help but hug him.

"I gave Arturo something to give you, Wifey. I have to go now. You wouldn't want hubby to miss his flight. right, honey?" Reggie tried to remove my hands from his clothes.

"No, don't leave me… I beg you." My voice was loud enough to attract people, but I didn't care about their looks.

Reggie felt embarrassed by their gaze. He turned and tried to leave.

"C'mon Maya, this is embarrassing. I thought we talked about this?"

"Please, I promise not to be a distraction… your leaving would kill me." I cried and hugged him like my life depended on him.

The time came for him to get on the plane, as he was the last person.

I cried, but it was as if he didn't see my tears... I hugged him tight, but he tried to remove my hands.

I already rumpled his shirt when I removed my hand. I ignored the fact that everyone's eyes were on me.

"Reggie, please don't go!" I went on my knees and pleaded with him, but he left and never looked back.

"Reggie, I love you!" Every inch he took broke my heart. I felt alone and empty. I wanted to go after him, but he was already on the plane. My world crumbled. I felt alone as if a part of me died. Reggie was my life. I can't live without him.

"Please come back!" I cried out, but he was already gone.

Arturo helped me up and took me to his car.

He started the car, and we both left the airport.

I kept sobbing and thinking about Reggie and the memories we shared.

My lips had become swollen and my eyes were red and puffy.

"It's okay, ma'am. He will be back for you." Arturo tried to comfort me.

"He also gave me this to give to you." He brought out a box, but it fell off his hand.

My heart skipped the moment he suddenly paused his car.

"What's that?" I wiped my tears as I saw a group of men dressed in black. They had masks on. Arturo was blindfolded and taken out of the car, while they placed a piece of cloth on my nose. I tried to scream and struggled to breathe, but the man was so strong. I slowly passed out and was taken to another car.

"Good job."

I heard a familiar voice say, but I thought I had heard wrong.

"Remove her blindfold." The voice came again.

My blindfold was removed, then I slowly opened my eyes. I turned to Scan the environment… I was stunned as I realized where I was.

I was brought to a bush? I turned and saw a feminine figure in front of me.

"Angelica?"

"Yes, darling. It's me.." she replied with an evil laugh. I was somehow confused. What and how did I get here?

"Did you bring me here? I thought you were sick?" I heard she lost her child so, I didn't expect her to be strong enough to even walk. I turned and saw Reggie's assistant, struggling to free himself.

"I brought you here to tell you the truth honey, nothing more."

"What truth? Please, let me go. I have been feeling so weak lately and I need to get some rest." I pleaded but she wasn't ready to give up. Then she turned to Arturo.

"Where's the box your boss instructed you to give Maya?"

"Here is it," Arturo stretched his hands and gave her the box. He was the only one who was aware that Angelica had changed the content in the box. She threw the box at me and instructed me to open it, which I did. I saw a note and a cellphone.

"Well? Read it!" She yelled but I was unable to say a word. I glared at the note but still couldn't read anything.

"I never attended school, it's so hard… I can't read…"

"Oh, I almost forgot about the rumors,. Indeed, you are an illiterate. Anyway, let me have it… I'll read it out loud for you." Angelica collected the note from me.

[Dear Maya, I'm sorry to let you know that I never loved you. I was only using you to get Angelica jealous. she's the only woman after my heart… She's the only woman I have ever loved… and you were just a tool for my revenge. Which is why I left so suddenly. I couldn't leave with the guilt that's why I left so, Angelica and I can finally be together]

Tears rolled down my cheeks as she read the note. I could feel my heart aching. But I still refused to believe that Reggie, my husband would hurt my feelings this way.

"That's not true, I don't believe you, Reggie would never write that," I said as tears kept rolling down my face.

"I was Reggie's girlfriend before you came into the picture. Reggie and I have always loved each other and I knew you would have doubts, which is why I'm going to play this video."

Angelica brought the phone she took from the box and played a video of her and my husband having sex. I couldn't believe my eyes as I saw Reggie on top of her. I could also hear Reggie's voice.

'C'mon, you know you made me do this. You know I'm not in love with her, I only married her just to make you jealous so you would come with me. Maya means nothing to me.

Let's leave here, let's run away from everything. I'd bring up anything, maybe a vacation or a business trip, I'd leave everything just to be with you'

And then she switched the phone off. His voice on her phone sent shivers down my spine. I meant nothing to him? my God... So, the business trip was a troy to abandon me? Reggie used me? My heart broke into a million pieces. For a moment I thought I'd see wrong. Reggie had sex with Angelica? He had been fooling me all this while? My legs weakened causing me to fall to the ground.

I bit my lower lip to stop myself from crying. God knows how much I love Reggie.. he's the only man my heart has ever beat for, the only one I have ever loved. Why would he do something like this to me?

"So, do you believe me now? Reggie loves me and me alone. Now, go on your knees." She said and turned to one of the men who stood beside her.

"Put her blindfold back on… and give me the gun. I'm going to kill her myself." She whispered into his ears. While they were focused on me, Arturo had untied himself and ran away without them noticing.

"Are you trying to get me killed? I tried to scream but my eyes and mouth were quickly covered.

Angelica pointed the gun at me and pulled her trigger.
