Filled with confidence and arrogance, Axel strode towards the girl whom Rosa had designated as the target of their bet.
"Daisy, table number eight is calling for service. You go there."
"Yes."
Daisy, the girl assigned the task, began to move. She headed towards table number 8, coincidentally passing by Axel. A gentle touch between their arms suddenly caused Axel to stand frozen for a moment. A familiar sensation rushed through Axel's mind and heart. When Axel snapped back to reality, Daisy had already moved away from him. Axel quickly turned his head to look at Daisy, and without hesitation, he took steps towards her.
"Hey, waitress!" Axel called out to get Daisy's attention; she was standing by table number 8, waiting for the customers to place their orders.
Thinking that she wasn't being called, Daisy didn't react or respond to Axel.
"I'm talking to you. Can't you hear?" Axel attempted to regain Daisy's attention once again by raising the volume of his voice.
"At the same time, the customers finished placing their orders.
"Please wait a moment, sir or madam," Daisy politely said, and then turned around to head towards the counter to hand the order to the bartender.
As she turned, Daisy was briefly startled to see Axel standing in front of her. Daisy stepped to the left, but Axel immediately stepped to the right, and vice versa. Finally, Daisy gently requested:
"Excuse me, please let me pass."
However, Axel didn't move. He remained stationary, staring directly at Daisy. Standing face-to-face with his target, Axel felt a slight sense of dissatisfaction. He observed Daisy from top to bottom, silently assessing her. He had to admit that the girl Rosa had chosen had an unattractive face and was dressed loosely. It certainly didn't match Axel's taste.
"Can we talk for a moment?" Axel spoke loudly, attempting to drown out the music playing from the speakers.
"For what?" Daisy asked again, quite surprised and not fully understanding Axel's intentions. Therefore, she tried to predict a possible scenario: "What do you need help with? If it's the restroom, it's over there; just follow the directional signs."
Axel kept his seriousness to answer:
"I want to get to know you. We can have a conversation to understand each other better. Can we find a quieter place to talk?"
"Do you know who I am?" Daisy asked with curiosity.
"No," Axel replied honestly, causing Daisy to furrow her brow and doubt Axel's intentions. She thought that the man in front of her might be playing a prank, so she quickly declined.
"Sorry, I'm busy. If you need someone to talk to, try getting to know other women here."
After speaking, Daisy decisively walked past Axel. However, Axel extended his hand, holding Daisy back.
Daisy felt a sudden grip on her arm, causing her to stop in her tracks. She turned to face Axel, a mixture of surprise and caution evident in her expression.
"I'm talking to you," Axel recalled with a stern tone.
"What do you want from me?" Daisy asked, her voice tinged with a hint of concern. She wasn't sure about Axel's intentions and was growing increasingly uneasy. At the same time, she felt uncomfortable as Axel dared to touch her by holding her hand so blatantly.
A hush descended as Axel contemplated what he needed and would say to achieve his objectives. He truly needed an effective strategy that would lead to success. Meanwhile, Daisy became increasingly impatient, and a sense of unease engulfed her.
"If there's nothing important, please stop your games and let me go." Daisy gently broke the silence, glancing around and checking if any of the managers had witnessed the scene. She truly didn't want to encounter any trouble with the customers, as it could jeopardize her job.
"Be my girlfriend," Axel stated firmly, leaving Daisy in disbelief.
"What did you just say?" she exclaimed, her mouth agape in astonishment.
"Go out with me," Axel repeated impatiently.
After a moment of shock, Daisy regained her composure and spoke:
"Are you joking?"
"No, I'm not."
"Then are you crazy?"
"No, I'm not."
"Then do you have some sort of brain issue?"
Axel felt annoyed by Daisy's seemingly nonsensical questions.
"I'm perfectly fine," he replied with a hint of irritation in his voice.
"No normal person ever asks me out," Daisy confidently stated. "I don't want any trouble, so please stop your jokes."
"Go out with me," Axel repeated.
"I'm sorry, but I have to get back to work."
With that, Daisy brushed off Axel's hand and walked straight back to the counter, leaving Axel behind.
Axel, frustrated and irritated, realized that his quick and straightforward approach had failed. He had been overly confident, assuming that any girl would be willing and happy to go on a date with him, and Daisy was no exception. However, to his surprise, Daisy had firmly rejected him. Axel was not exactly sure of the reason behind Daisy's rejection. Perhaps, as Daisy had mentioned, she was busy. It was also possible that Daisy had sensed something suspicious or off about Axel's actions. The likelihood of Daisy figuring out Axel's intentions seemed implausible to him, or at least that's what Axel believed.
Axel knew that there were eyes watching him from behind, and he didn't want to lose face after boldly declaring that he would resolve this bet in just a few minutes. So he had to try harder.
Setting aside his anger, Axel decided to follow Daisy, determined to persuade her using a different approach. Just as he reached the counter, Daisy moved again, delivering the menu to another table. Frustration surged within Axel, and he felt the urge to swear, but considering his own freedom, he restrained himself and persisted. With a few long strides, Axel caught up to Daisy. In a decisive move, he grabbed her hand, causing her to turn and face him.
"What's going on?" Daisy exclaimed, slightly startled.
"I like you; go on a date with me," Axel said loudly, just as the music abruptly stopped for some unknown reason. His words unintentionally caught the attention of those nearby.
As Daisy was still caught up in her confusion and unable to react in time, an invisible force seemed to urge Axel to perform a daring act. Axel pulled her in for a passionate and courageous kiss. Time stood still for a few seconds, yet emotions surged within Daisy's heart. A chaotic sparkle filled her eyes.
However, it wasn't Daisy's emotions that caught my attention first. The sound of a tray crashing to the floor from Daisy's trembling hands echoed through the air, causing the glasses on it to spill and shatter into pieces. The crowd was now in a state of excitement and curiosity. They were bewildered, laughing, and even cheering in excitement. All eyes were focused on the two of them, but no one knew exactly what had transpired.
Meanwhile, Axel's friends exchanged skeptical glances. They couldn't hear the words Axel had spoken to Daisy before this scene unfolded. They couldn't comprehend the intentions and plans Axel was carrying out.
"What's going on? Did Axel succeed?" Dion asked, puzzled.
"Perhaps the girl has agreed to go on a date with him," Tom speculated, looking towards the two of them. "But we'll have to wait until things become clearer."
"If we only look at this scene, it seems like Axel has succeeded," Zane replied, with surprise on his face. "But we don't know exactly what happened before. Maybe the girl was caught off guard, or maybe Axel had other plans. We need to wait and see."
Contrary to the crowd's reaction, Rosa appeared angry and unable to accept Axel's actions. She couldn't understand why Axel dared to make such bold moves and embarrass himself like that. Was Axel trying to show off and prove himself as the winner? Anger and disgust filled Rosa; her fists clenched tightly, grinding her teeth in frustration. She muttered words of reproach, cursing Axel in her anger.
After a few seconds of silence, the kiss came to an end. Daisy looked around and noticed everyone buzzing with conversation and clearly waiting for something to happen. She realized that both she and Axel had become the center of attention.Daisy's heart was pounding, but there was no shyness or embarrassment in her blue eyes. Instead, a fiery anger radiated from her gaze. That kiss had crossed boundaries, invading Daisy's personal space in a ruthless manner.Everyone patiently waited for Daisy's reaction. But contrary to their expectations that she would burst with happiness at Axel's confession, she appeared furious and immediately confronted Axel about his actions."What the hell did you just do? How dare you kiss me without my consent?" Daisy exclaimed angrily.Sensing Daisy's agitation and fearing that people might suspect something, Axel suggested calmly to Daisy:"Come on, sweetheart, don't be mad. Everyone is watching." As Axel attempted to stroke Daisy's chubby cheek, she fli
8 a.m. in Axel Smith's private officeAxel is sitting comfortably in a plush chair, holding a glass of red wine, and his eyes are quietly immersed in the beautiful scenery outside the window. The space is filled with a sense of tranquility, but suddenly, a gentle knocking sound disrupts the serene atmosphere.Axel, with a surprised expression, blinks and turns his head towards the door."Please come in." Axel hurriedly speaks, immediately resuming a serious demeanor for work. The door opens, revealing a polite man dressed in a minimalist suit yet exuding an air of elegance."I've come to report," the man says with a deep and confident tone, standing across from Axel."Speak up then," Axel demanded.Axel remains seated in his position, trying not to show any impatience."Sir, this is the result of the investigation," the man says, his voice warm and resolute. "For now, I can only gather basic information. To delve deeper, more time will be required. Therefore, I ask for your patience a
Seeing Daisy's contemplative expression, Axel anxiously interjected, "Can you hear what I'm saying?""You're like that again. Why do you have to make me hate you?" Daisy exclaimed, looking annoyed at Axel. "When will you give up? Did you forget about last night? Do you want me to repeat it?""I'm being serious. Please go on a date with me," Axel reiterated impatiently."Are you drunk?" Daisy recreates the situation from last night by asking questionable questions."I haven't had a single drop of alcohol today," Axel affirmed, although he was lying. The truth was that Axel had consumed a glass of wine before meeting Daisy."Well, then you must be insane." Daisy went on to claim that Axel was mentally ill, mixing mockery with probing. "Where is the money I gave you? Why haven't you gone to the Mental Health Hospital for diagnosis and treatment?"Unfazed by Daisy's blunt and provocative remarks, Axel remained calm as he emphasized, "I'm perfectly healthy. There's no need to go to the hos
Unable to keep Daisy from leaving, the manager quickly approaches Axel with apprehension, saying, "I apologize for the actions of our staff member, Mr. Axel Smith. May I ask what happened? Did Daisy commit any serious mistakes?""That staff member..." Axel swallows his anger, about to accuse Daisy, but suddenly realizes that he himself is the cause of the situation."Well, if there's anything unsatisfactory, please feel free to share," the manager suggests courteously. "If Daisy has done something wrong, I will immediately terminate her employment."Terminate employment? Axel never intended to make Daisy lose her job. Axel only wanted to achieve his goal through peace, without any bloodshed or sacrifice. However, Daisy is not the type of person to easily compromise. Axel truly encountered a challenging opponent."There's nothing," Axel says coldly, trying to suppress the turmoil that Daisy has caused him."I have spare clothing. If you don't mind, I can lend them to you," the manager
The next day. After the incident where Daisy splashed dirty water on Axel, everyone thought that Axel wouldn't bother coming to the bar anymore. But to the surprise of the staff, Axel still appeared confident, and to top it off, he brought along a large bouquet of roses. Some curious individuals dared to estimate that the bouquet had nearly 100 flowers. A colleague who noticed Axel approaching turned to Daisy and said: "Hey Daisy, that director guy is here again." At that moment, Daisy was busy cleaning the bar to prepare for the first wave of customers for the day. She had to raise her head when she heard her colleague's announcement. "Who is it?" Daisy asked bewilderedly, not bothering to scan the area for the person mentioned. "It's Axel," Daisy's colleague hesitantly said, then abruptly stopped and hurriedly left the counter. "Where are you going?" Daisy looked after her, perplexed, and asked "Greetings, Daisy," Axel said politely, capturing Daisy's attention. The call mad
"Are you determined to resist me?" Axel shouted, highly dissatisfied with Daisy's unprofessional and ignorant behavior. "Do you believe that I would fire you immediately?"Daisy showed no fear, instead remaining calm and gently explaining, "Respected boss, the water is near your place, just within your reach. In the meantime, I am far away from it with the water jug.""I don't need to know that. You should figure out how to solve it yourself," Axel insisted, making things difficult for Daisy. "I hired you not to be lazy and shirk responsibilities.""Don't you see that I am busy?" Daisy tried to emphasize the main point."I don't see anything," Axel replied, pretending to be blind."Why make things difficult when you can reach out and touch the water jug?" Daisy objected, feeling indignant."Because I am the boss, the one paying to be served," Axel reiterated his position. "So if you don't want to..."Daisy interrupted Axel by raising her hand, requesting that he be silent. Her gaze wa
Time continued to pass, and the deadline for Axel to complete the challenge was approaching. However, up until this point, Axel had been unsuccessful in bribing Daisy with money or material possessions. Axel never liked to experience failure. He had never tasted defeat before. Could it be that this time Axel would have to face all of that? No, Axel's reputation couldn't be tarnished like that. Axel couldn't accept the feeling of humiliation and being controlled by Rosa in the future. Finally, to avoid all of that, Axel came up with an idea. He would investigate Daisy's weaknesses and use them as leverage to manipulate her into complying with Axel's arrangements. This plan could be considered despicable, but for the sake of his own future and freedom, Axel would disregard everything as long as he achieved his goal.Axel's trusted assistant, John, confidently entered the room, holding a stack of papers containing information about Daisy."Boss, here's the latest report you requested," J
"Who are you, and what do you want? Move aside so we can go," the leader asked in a loud voice. Axel didn't bother to look at them; he was focused on Daisy, the girl lying weakly on the ground. A sense of pity welled up in Axel's heart."Did you do this?" Axel asked coldly."Yeah, so what? What's it to you?""Can you hit a woman?" Axel asked, deeply indignant at this inhuman behavior. Axel has never been physically cruel to a woman, and he detests such violence."Why not? Besides, she's not a woman. She's an ugly creature."Laughter filled with mockery escaped the lips of the thugs. In their eyes, Daisy did indeed look both ugly and repulsive."So, what do you want, you audacious fool? You want to play the hero and save..."Before the man could finish his sentence, Axel swiftly delivered a powerful punch to his face. Blood started to flow from the nose and mouth of the man who had been struck."You son of a bitch, how dare you hit me?" The man screamed, a mix of anger and fear evident
"How are you?" Rosa asked when she saw Mrs. Mia's pale face.Mrs. Mia couldn't say anything when suddenly the police appeared."Rosa Taylor and Mia Wilson, you both are under arrest for conspiracy to commit murder. Please come with us," declared the stern police officer."We haven't done anything!" Mrs. Mia immediately denied the accusation, while Rosa was still trying to grasp the situation."What you said has been recorded—enough evidence to charge you both before the law," Amelia arrogantly proclaimed, holding up a recording device for them to see."Please come with us," the police officer requested a second time."I haven't done anything wrong." Mrs. Mia continued to deny the accusation as she was led away by the police. It was only then that Rosa realized she was being arrested. Not wanting to go to jail, Rosa used her strength to push the police officer and run out of the coffee shop. The police officer chased after her, and unfortunately, something terrible happened. While runn
At that moment, from out of nowhere, an older man appeared, leading his 10-year-old son. They pushed through the crowd in front of the emergency room. As soon as they saw the lifeless body, the man grabbed his son's hand and ran towards it, then hugged the lifeless body and cried out."My wife! How could you leave me and our son so early?"The man's voice trembled as he cried, while the child sobbed loudly. The cries jolted Axel awake, and he raised his blank face to look at the man hugging the lifeless body. The man also looked back at Axel, both wearing expressions of indescribable astonishment."Who are you, and why were you crying for my wife?" A man asked in confusion."What do you mean? Your wife?" Axel's words left the man equally baffled. What was going on here? He suddenly felt disoriented."Mommy, please don't leave me." The voice of a child caught Axel and the man's attention. Upon realizing that the child was not Henry, Axel's confusion deepened. So, that wasn't Daisy. Axe
"Why would you speak of your mother like that?" Daisy scolded. "It's utterly uncalled for. If your mother heard what you said, she would undoubtedly be heartbroken.""You don't know anything, so just stay quiet," Axel snapped in anger.Daisy was taken aback by Axel's reaction, but she quickly regained control of the situation."It's true; I don't know anything about you," Daisy admitted. "We've never truly understood each other, and our views have never aligned. Anyway, your attitude towards your mother is a matter between you and her, unrelated to mine. Therefore, you don't have to be impatient with me.""My mother is dead," Axel finally revealed, thinking that Daisy didn't understand his earlier statement, leaving Daisy shocked and skeptical."Daisy, you've been deceived." Feeling the tension in the room, Amelia hurriedly explained, "My mother and Axel passed away. Axel was just seven years old at the time, and I was twelve. The woman named Mia is my stepmother, my father's second w
That day, it was raining heavily. Despite the kind advice from the neighbors, Axel remained outside, standing in the pouring rain, waiting for Daisy to open the door. Axel's determination earned him the respect of many, but it also stirred feelings of sympathy.Inside her room, Daisy could hear and know everything that was happening outside. However, she had made up her mind not to waver. After enduring six hours of heavy rain, Axel finally collapsed. Kind neighbors took him into their home and took care of him when he had a high fever. The next day, in a daze, Daisy suddenly jolted awake upon hearing an announcement from the neighbor."Daisy, your husband has a fever."Many hours passed. Axel was still unconscious, and his fever was quite severe.Daisy, feeling perplexed, was inside her room. She was genuinely concerned about Axel's condition and wanted to personally take care of him, but she lacked the courage to step out and check on him. Daisy wasn't a coward; she was just too stu
"Daisy, we can.""Henry, we're going home." Daisy interrupted Axel with an absolute command."I don't want to." Henry stopped chewing and looked directly at Daisy, stubbornly refusing."Why not? What's your reason?" Daisy impatiently demanded."I want to go to Cha Axel's home," Henry honestly admitted."Henry, I've told you," Daisy reminded him, trying to control her emotions. She was on the verge of losing her temper. Meeting Axel had left Daisy confused and her emotions unstable."I don't want to," Henry shouted suddenly, accusing Daisy. "You lied to me. Dad Axel is not too busy with work. You didn't bring me here for the safety of either of us. I don't know why you took me away from Axel's father's house, but you lied to me.”Daisy wasn't surprised that Henry easily discovered her lie. Henry was a smart and perceptive child. Daisy had anticipated this, but she hadn't expected Henry's reaction to be so determined and forceful. Daisy had hurt her son's feelings, and she knew it, but
"Hello." The person speaking to Axel was a woman. "Are you the guardian of this boy?""Yes, that's right. I'm Henry's father. What happened, and who are you?" Axel tried to stay calm while gathering information about the situation."The boy had an accident and is currently in the hospital. I'm a nurse at the hospital," the woman reported on Henry's condition. "We need the boy's guardian to come here."Hearing about an accident, Axel felt a chill run down his spine, his heart pounding with fear. He was afraid something terrible had happened.“How is my son?” Axel asked nervously."It's nothing serious; the boy has only minor injuries and lost a little blood. His condition has improved now," the nurse reassured Axel.Thankfully, Henry was safe and sound. Axel silently thanked God."Which hospital is he in? I'll come right away," Axel urgently asked, already getting ready to leave."He's in Hospital K, in the town of Suna.""I understand, thank you," Axel requested. "Please pass the phon
After a while, Axel was engulfed in despair, but suddenly the power of love surged within him. So Axel resolved to take action instead of sitting in self-pity. He also knew he couldn't do it alone, and he had some wonderful friends. Without hesitation, Axel immediately called for help from everyone."John, please help me," Axel choked out over the phone. "I really don't know what to do right now."John was at home, enjoying the weekend with Grace as a loving couple. Today, John decided not to answer any calls, both work-related and personal. However, when the caller was Axel and he kept calling incessantly, John answered the phone."What's wrong, Axel? What's happening? First, calm down," John gently reassured Axel while trying to understand Axel's situation. According to John, whenever Axel called him, it was usually for something very important or urgent."Daisy, she's gone," Axel pleaded in agony. "Help me find her, please.""What happened? Why did Daisy disappear?" John was a bit
Daisy let out a sigh of relief when the person who arrived was not Axel. It was the doctor in charge of Daisy's treatment and the nurse responsible for monitoring her condition."Daisy, how do you feel?" the doctor asked with concern."My head is still a bit dizzy," Daisy replied honestly, then suddenly remembered something important. She anxiously asked, "How is my child? Is everything okay?""The baby is still safe. Please rest assured," the doctor reassured her. Daisy placed her hand on her belly, gently stroking it. She silently thanked God for protecting the unborn child. Up until now, Daisy had not fully recovered from the shock of Rosa's audacious actions. What would have happened if Rosa had actually pulled the trigger? Daisy might have died, and her unborn child as well. Just thinking about it sent shivers down her spine, instilling fear and anger within her. Daisy was sure that Rosa would have to pay for her actions. She believed that."Where is your husband?" the doctor inq
Rosa showed her determination as she looked at Daisy with sharp eyes. Suddenly, Daisy wished someone would appear to stop Rosa. But if her wish didn't come true, she would have to face Rosa's madness and danger on her own."Rosa, listen to me: What you're doing is a crime, and you'll go to jail if you kill someone. You should stop before it's too late," Daisy calmly warned Rosa. "If I scream, you'll definitely get caught.""I don't care," Rosa insolently declared. "I just want Axel to suffer for what he did to me. And what will make Axel suffer the most is losing you. Whether you die or disappear, it's the same for me. I'll give you a chance: leave Axel forever, and your life will be spared. But don't play games with me. If you leave and then come back, I'll kill Axel. I promise you that.""You're not allowed to touch Axel," Daisy angrily retorted."That entirely depends on you," Rosa arrogantly said. "If you dare to defy me, continue staying with Axel. I'll kill Axel and make you liv
