CHAPTER 4
I quietly giggled as I politely left Sarah to go to the bathroom. The stunning man had been staring at me all night, but I refused to look at him again to satisfy his curiosity.
I swayed through the crowd, adding a little more sway to my hips. Allow him to observe as much as he desired, I am capable of playing this game as well. Tonight, I regained control and felt empowered.
Upon arriving at the bathroom, I pushed the door open and suddenly halted. The place was a total mess, with puddles of liquid - hopefully just beverages that were accidentally spilled - scattered throughout the tacky floor. Discarded makeup wipes and balled up toilet paper were scattered all over the place.
The blonde at the counter, wearing heavy makeup, was the most worried as she slumped over and snored lightly with streaks of mascara on her cheeks.
"Uh, pardon me?" I dared to shake her shoulder slightly. Excuse me, ma'am? You are not allowed to sleep in this place."
She woke suddenly with a loud snort, glancing around drowsily until she spotted me with her unfocused gaze.
She exposed her teeth in a grotesque effort to smile flirtatiously, her thick eye makeup giving her the appearance of a hungover raccoon.
"Hello there," she slurred drunkenly while giving me an exaggerated wink. "Mmm, you're quite delicious, aren't you?"
She began to lift herself up, relying on the counter for assistance. I swiftly moved back a couple of steps, raising my hands in a protective stance.
"Hey, hey, take it easy lady. I believe you've had a sufficient amount of fun for this evening."
The intoxicated woman sneered, hinting that the fun was only beginning as she struggled to stand up. She stumbled towards me and her desires were obvious as she scanned my body like a piece of meat.
My face grew hot as I automatically covered my chest with crossed arms. This was escalating rapidly. Although I appreciated the (very drunk) admiration, I was not interested in that direction.
"Hey, you're drunk and I'm not attracted to you, okay?" I firmly stated, taking a few more steps back. "Why not take a seat while I fetch you a glass of water or something to drink?"
"I would prefer to taste you instead," she said with a growl, advancing with another heavy step. Once intended as a cute pick-up line, her words now seemed intimidating when spoken in a rough, husky tone.
That was the end of it, I was done. This whole situation was starting to head towards creepy harassment.
Time to distance myself before Sloppy McGee here decides to become more hands-on in her efforts.
"I'm leaving before things get even stranger," I said quietly, heading out. However, just as I was about to reach the door, a surprisingly powerful hand gripped my upper arm and swiftly turned me back.
"Don't act in that manner, sweetie," the intoxicated woman slurred, as she reached up to gently touch my cheek. The unpleasant smell of alcohol and vomit coming from her mouth caused me to feel nauseous. "Why do you have to be so chilly? We could enjoy ourselves, you and I..."
That roaming hand moved downwards towards my chest, causing a sudden feeling of panic. This situation was quickly escalating towards a highly risky outcome.
I swiftly raised my hand and slapped the woman's hand away, pushing her back forcefully with my other arm.
Struggling to maintain her balance, she staggered, relying on the counter for support.
"Keep your distance from me, you crazy slut!" I shouted, my voice rising and becoming louder than I meant because of the fear running through me. "I have absolutely no interest whatsoever! Understand that in your intoxicated state!"
Instead of intimidating her as I had intended, my words and push only seemed to make the woman even angrier. Her expression twisted into a mask of rage as she stood up, fists clenched at her sides.
She shouted angrily, swinging wildly at me, "You damn bitch!"
Crap, things were about to take a turn for the worse. Utilizing the self-defense skills, I learned years prior, I skillfully avoided her uncoordinated punch and then forcefully drove my knee into her stomach. She released a painful gasp, bending in half as the air quickly escaped her lungs.
I considered attempting to flee towards the exit once more while she was unable to move. Before I could act, she began moving towards me once more with her hands out like a drunk zombie on the attack.
Forced to react, I assumed a defensive stance when she approached me, blocking her attempts to grab me and landing a solid knee strike directly to her already injured stomach. The intoxicated woman bent over and I then grabbed a handful of her hair, forcefully slamming her face down onto the counter.
She clutched her bleeding nose with her hands, releasing a garbled scream of pain and anger.
I took advantage of the opportunity to swing my leg in a brutal kick, hitting her knee, causing her to fall in a pile on the dirty tiled surface.
Lying on the ground, she looked confused and made a soft, pitiful sound as I stood nearby, breathing heavily from the excitement.
A piece of me felt guilty for resorting to such drastic actions.
However, the other part recognized that not standing up for myself could have led to a more unfortunate result.
Upon regaining my composure, I pivoted and angrily left the awful bathroom, pushing through the increasing group of bewildered spectators it had attracted. I saw Sarah by the edge, her forehead creased with concern until she saw me.
"Hey Kaitlyn! "Ah, there you are, I was just going to look for you... whoa, what's going on?" she inquired, observing my unkempt look.
"I can't believe this," I muttered, shaking my head in astonishment. And then I began to retell the crazy experience I had just gone through, Sarah's eyes growing larger with every new detail.
Sarah was horrified as she attentively listened to me recounting the drunken woman's unwelcome advances and how I had to protect myself when she turned to physical aggression.
"Dear me, Kaitlyn, I'm extremely sorry!" she cried in shock. "Is everything alright with you? We might need to contact the authorities or something about that insane person!"
I brushed aside her worry, continuing to experience the adrenaline high. "No, it's okay, everything's fine. I handled it. She's the one who will require an ice pack for her fractured nose."
A stunned quiet settled between us briefly before Sarah burst into a loud laugh, throwing her head back.
"Wow, girl! I was clueless that I had to be cautious around you. I'll make sure I stay on your good side."
I couldn't resist grinning as I playfully pushed her. Yes, yes. "I will utilize my martial arts abilities for benevolent purposes, not malevolent ones, I assure you."
Another chuckle passed between us, with the absurdity of the situation helping to ease the tension. As our laughter faded, I sensed a strong presence approaching from behind. A gentle hand moved down my slender waist as a deep, raspy voice whispered in my ear.
"We could reach a mutual understanding on this matter, don't you think?"
I briefly tensed up in astonishment before recognizing the distinctive accent and sound of that deep voice.
It was him; that attractive, smoldering-eyed man from earlier who had been staring at me so openly.
I slowly turned to look at him, amazed by his striking Mediterranean features as I caught my breath. His tall, muscular frame was exuding raw, confident masculinity, making me struggle to refrain from shamelessly eyeing him.
"Oh, concerning what?" Once I regained my composure, I playfully raised an eyebrow in challenge.
The edge of his full lips lifted in a seductive half-grin that caused a flutter in my stomach.
"You will understand soon darling," he whispered with that seductive tone. "My beautiful seductress."
He then gradually let go of my waist and I could feel the heat of his touch remain, burning into my skin. I faced him completely, but he vanished into the crowd like a ghost, leaving me bemused and curious.
CHAPTER 5I couldn't shake off the feeling of that man from yesterday's party as I stared at the paper in my hands. I stood, looking at myself in the mirror. He had slipped it into my hand before leaving. When I looked at it was an address, a place I could meet him. On the paper it was written that he would send someone to pick me up.I knew I couldn't trust strangers, but there was something about this man that I couldn't shrug off. An aura of mystery and intrigue that had me feeling unsettled yet undeniably drawn in.Sarah walked up from behind me, spotting the paper in my hands. "You still thinking about him?" She asked with a sly smirk.I chuckled to myself, both amused and exasperated by her relentless prodding about my apparent "admirer" from last night. "Don't get your hopes up too high.""Why wouldn't I?" She shot back impishly. "He seems pretty interested in you. And he looked pretty rich too." She punctuated her point by taking a dramatic sip of coffee.Sarah, though perpetu
CHAPTER 6"Over there," Sarah mentioned, moving back with a content nod. "You are prepared to go and pursue your billionaire playboy."I let out a nervous laugh, running my hands gently over the smooth cotton shirt she had assisted in choosing. "Take it easy. I have no idea what this even is, to be honest."Sarah gave me a sharp glance. "Young woman, I beg of you. That guy was ogling you from the other side of the club. He obviously desires to devour you next.""Perhaps he is simply a harmless eccentric who delights in gathering intriguing individuals."Before Sarah had a chance to reply, a loud car horn honked outside. Both of us looked at the windows and I was amazed to see the shiny luxury car parked outside my humble apartment building.Sarah dryly remarked that she believes that is your mode of transportation. "Shall we?"“I still wonder how he knows where I live.”She linked her arm with mine and practically pulled me out before I could hesitate and change my mind, “Leave that f

With a confident and composed demeanor, Estefan took the lead at the table. "Are you ready?" he inquired, his intense gaze meeting mine in a way that both scared and encouraged me. His expression darkened as he listened to the voice on the other end, his fingers drumming against the polished surface of his desk. I sat across from him, my curiosity roused.“Yes, I’ll be there,” he finally said, ending the call abruptly. He looked at me, his eyes unreadable. “We need to attend a family gathering tonight. My brother, Adrian, will be there.”I had heard mentions of Adrian before, always with a mix of respect and caution. The tension between the two brothers was palpable, though I don’t know t
