Pleasing game

"Nina, here, I bought some gifts for you" he pointed at the items he carefully selected to please her.

Nina gave the said items a fleeting glance. Everything is neatly arranged on the table in front of the couch. William already opened all the boxes to be made sure that she could see the items inside the boxes and get dazzled instantly. He picked a few pieces of diamond jewellery and expensive branded leather handbags. She would have loved all of these gifts if he would have gifted them a few years ago. But now, she doesn't feel anything when she is looking at those gifts. Her heart feels empty for the man sitting in front of her.

"Dad, these are not nessasary. You took your time to come and see me, it's more than enough" she spoke with a hint of smile. But what she is not verbalising is that, all she ever needed from him was his time and affection, which he never gave.

William ofcourse didn't understand what she meant. He thought she is still the same Nina who used to do anything
