Chapter 188: Confession

Shanley reminisces about the day he found out about his father's crimes.

Immediately after her engagement to Caryln, Shanley got drunk and staggered home. He was supposed to return to his mansion, but he forgot something at the Theodore mansion, so he went back to get it.

Unexpectedly, he accidentally overheard his father's phone call with a policeman. That's also when he discovered the terrible secret his father was hiding.

"Father, what did you just say? Did you harm the Gabriel family?" Shanley yelled.

"You... why are you here now? What have you heard?" Mr. Donald was completely surprised with the appearance of his son.

"The whole thing, I've heard it all."

Shanley felt dizzy from drunkenness, but he was still awake enough to realize that what he had just heard was true.

He fooled himself that he was the most trustworthy person to Aurora. But he never expected that the person who pushed Aurora's whole family into misery was his father.
