"Get your dirty hands off me!" Erin abruptly and aggressively pushed Liam off her. Now that her mom and brother are gone, why continue pretending?

Liam stepped away from her. "I'm sorry." He apologized, even though it was not his fault.

She was the one who put her hands on him in the first place, so it was her fault.

Erin scoffed. Rolling her eyes in annoyance, she glared at Liam. "You'd better, trash." Saying that, she walked to her king-size bed, taking a seat on the side of the king size bed, she stared at Liam and instructed. "Go get my breakfast." She ordered, without looking at her servant.

"Sure ma'am." Liam replied, he turned and went out of the bedroom.

Running her hands through her silk hair, Erin grabbed the remote, turning on the TV. Her pink lips curving into a smile, as she watched a movie in which she was the lead character. She was so proud of herself, she had reached heights she never thought she could on her own. Her life was great. Well except for her married life, her husband was a useless nobody. Just the sight of him made her sick to her stomach.

In almost a minute, Liam was back with the breakfast his wife ordered. Gently setting the bed tray on the bed, he glanced at her saying. "Your breakfast, ma'am."

Erin had instructed him to never call her by her name, Instead he should call her 'ma'am', so that is why Liam called her ma'am, and she prefered to be addressed like that by him. After all, only those who are close and dear to her, could call her by her name. And Liam was neither close nor dear to her, he was just a nobody.

Taking his eyes off Erin, Liam was about to take a seat on the bed and watch the movie on the TV, it looked like a good movie.

But before he could sit down….

"Leave." Erin waved him off. She couldn't stand being in the same room with him. Damnit! She hated the sight of this man.

Silently, Liam walked out of the bedroom, leaving Erin to enjoy the meal he cooked.

He would cook but barely got to taste the food. Whether he ate or not depended on Mrs. Lopez's mood, and she was usually having a bad day, so he rarely got to eat. And his wife couldn't care less about him. After all, he was only her husband in name.

Liam had never touched her even though they were married. Hell they didn't even sleep on the same bed. Liam slept on the floor while she slept on the king size bed.

One day he asked her to at least bring in another bed or a couch, so he could sleep on it, cause the floor was cold and wasn't comfortable at all, but he got a tight slap for an answer.

There was so much hate for him in her eyes, something Liam had never been able to understand her. When she offered him the marriage contract, she was so nice towards him, but that changed after getting married.

As Liam was walking down the stairs, Xavier and two men who had the same physique as him were seated in the living room chatting as they smoked weed. The two men were probably Xavier's thug friends.

Taking steps further down the stairs, Liam could hear what Xavier and his friends were talking about. And it was not nice.

"He'll be here… take care of him, I want him to disappear from the face of the earth, you got me?" Xavier sternly ordered the men. "Kill him!" Xavier added, pointing his index finger at the men.

"Got it Buddy, we'll take care of that bastard." His friends nodded. But none of them had spotted Liam yet.

Not wanting any trouble, Liam turned and went back to the room he shared with Erin. But when he entered the bedroom, he met Erin's angry glare, and it was more scary than the bulky men Downstairs.

"What are you doing here?" Erin asked coldly, maintaining her cold glare on him as she continued. "Is it night time already?… Didn't I tell you to only come to my room only when it's at night and you're sleepy?" Erin asked coldly.

Liam lowered his head down, thinking of what to do. The bedroom was the safest place for him now.

'If Xavier gets a hold of me now, I'll be dead… and while I would like that. I just don't want to be killed by that evil man, he'll make me suffer first.' Liam thought, nervously biting his finger-nails. Then he came up with an excuse.

Raising his head to look at her, Liam nervously said, "Well, I was thinking maybe I can watch your latest movie with you… well you know, since the maids have already done all the house chores…today… I thought….?" Liam couldn't finish his sentence as Erin yelled at him.

"Get out… go get a job or something you sorry excuse of a man!" Erin snapped. Standing up, she stepped towards him, her angry green eyes looking at him from head to toe with a disgusted expression. "Aren't you ashamed of yourself, just look at you you idiot!" Saying that, she pushed him, and then she slammed the door on his face.

Sighing annoyedly, Liam clenched his fist. Why was she like this towards him? She treated him like he was not human at all. Erin had a cat and she treated the cat a million times, better than she treated him.

And now, what was he going to do? He heard what Xavier was telling the men. Xavier was planning to do something bad to him so he couldn't afford to go downstairs.

Lost in his head, Liam stood on Erin's door, thinking of a way to go unnoticed by Xavier and his friends, when his cell phone suddenly rang, pulling him out of his thoughts.

Sluggishly, Liam reached for his pocket and pulled out his cheap cell phone. He slightly raised his eyebrows after seeing the caller's number, it was the same unknown number. He was getting irritated with it, so he ignored the call and put his cellphone back in his pocket.

At that moment, the door to Erin's room opened, and Erin came out, wearing fancy skinny jeans and a crop top. The lady changed clothes almost every three hours. She even had two closets full of clothes.

Gently closing the door behind her, she disdainfully stared at Liam. "What are you still doing here? I thought I told you to go do something useful with your life?" She asked, scowling at him. Looked like the moron was happy with being useless.

"I was just…" Liam stuttered.

Erin sighed disappointed. Glaring at her idiot husband, she said. "Save your excuses, come with me." She instructed coldly, walking away from him.

Liam was stunned. "Where?" Asked Liam with a puzzled look as he followed behind her. She had never told him to go anywhere with her, she was always ashamed of him. Even when the family received guests, she would never tell them he was her husband, she would tell them Liam was a servant, or a butler.

"Don't you want to get a job?" Erin asked irritably, not sparing a glance at Liam. She was sick of telling him to get a job, now she'll make sure the idiot gets a job.

Nodding, Liam followed Erin behind, and Luckily, when they got to the living room, Xavier and his friends were not there. And Liam sighed in relief.

"What… kind of job are we talking about… again?" Liam hesitantly asked.

Not like he had a choice. Right now he just wanted a job, and he didn't care what it was as long as it paid. Hopefully he'll be able to find the money to pay his wife and get divorced.

Erin shot him a cold stare without replying to his question.

Avoiding her cold gaze, Liam didn't ask any further, he just followed behind, until they got to the garage. There were like a dozen choices in the garage. With a net worth of 93 million dollars, Erin could afford pretty much everything she wanted in life.

Erin and Liam got on Erin's Porsche and left the mansion.

This was Liam's first time being In the same car with Erin. Not to mention she allowed him to sit in the front seat with her. This was the first time she made him feel less than.

"So where am I going to be working?" Liam asked, his voice sounding a little confident. He wanted to know which company he was going to work for, but Erin didn't reply, she just focused her eyes on the road.

They were still on their way, when Erin's cell phone rang.

Picking up her cellphone, she smiled beautifully when she saw the callers ID. "Hey baby..." Erin said in a flirty voice, as soon as she answered the phone. Sounded like she was talking to her lover.

More than 7 years later passed….The Danvers manor was alive with celebration. Rays of sunlight poured through the wide, open windows, bathing the grand hall in golden glow. The warmth of the sun mixed with the light of chandeliers overhead, created a dreamlike ambiance.Balloons of blue, white, and gold floated on the ceiling, their ribbons trailing down. Laughter echoed from every corner of the big mansion. Children’s giggles mixed together with the clatter of plates, the clinking of glasses, and the soft melody of music playing in the background. The air was filled with the scent of vanilla cake and fresh flowers.“Make a wish, sweetheart,” Rachel said softly, parting the little boy infront of her on the head.A child, no older than six, sat in front of a cake, his cheeks turning red and his face glowing with excitement. The flames of the birthday candles reflected in his eyes. He squeezed his eyes shut tight, holding his breath as he thought long and hard about his wish, like it

Meanwhile...Liam, Adriana, Blackthorn, and the others stepped cautiously into a vast, faintly lit corridor. The air was cold despite the fact that they were indoors and there were flames from iron sconces lighting up the long and narrow corridor. “What is this place?” Liam muttered, his gaze scanning the ancient architecture. It wasn’t modern, no electricity or anything. Infact this looked like it was a completely different world, from the one he lived in. It looked like something pulled straight from a medieval times movie. At that moment, the clatter of hundreds of hurried footsteps echoed down the corridor, sharp and growing louder with every second. Heads turned toward the sound, eyes narrowing in readiness.“They know we’re here,” Adriana muttered, stepping forward with purpose. Her stance shifted as she reached over her shoulder, drawing a sleek, double-edged sword from its sheath on her back. The cold steel shined in the faintly lit corridor. Ignoring the gun strapped to her

The large room was faintly lit. The mysterious members of the shadow council were gathered around the throne-like chair where the Supreme Master sat. The chamber had the ghostly stillness of a forgotten era, its design nothing like the modern time. No modern features decorated the space, only stone walls, iron sconces holding bright flames, and a cold floor of dark granite. It felt like a place pulled straight from medieval times. Even the guards by the entrance wore attire resembling that period. The only figure out of place was Mr. Simpson, dressed in a green suit and black shoes, a bug difference to the world around him.Simpson stood before the council, his head lowered as he delivered the news of yet another one of his failures."Liam Danvers has escaped," he announced, his voice casual but cautious. "We– we believe his family played a role in his escape."Silence followed. It was thick. Unforgiving. And scary. Simpson felt a shiver run down his spine, just from anticipating wha

Eventually, they stopped at a large set of double doors. One of the men stepped forward, twisting the handle before pushing them open.Liam's eyes narrowed as he stepped inside. The room was larger than he expected, with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the forest below. His eyes scanned the room. His movements slowed when he spotted familiar faces. Adriana, George, and a few other agents from Adriana's organization standing around. Blackthorn was in conversation with Adriana and George, their expression business-like.“Hi, what’s going on?” Liam asked, his gaze wary, calculating. He’d always thought Blackthorn and Adriana’s people didn’t get along. Seeing them together now, standing like allies or partners, didn’t sit right. Suspicion crept into his mind.“Glad you could make it, Danvers,” Blackthorn said with a grin. “I must apologize for the way you got out of prison. But I promise, it was your friend's idea, not mine.”Adriana nodded. “We asked him to break you out. The Shado

"What do you mean he escaped?" Simpson barked into the phone, his grip so tight in anger the phone creaked, like it might break."The station was attacked, sir," the chief of police stammered nervously. "Multiple officers down. By the time we regained control, Danvers was gone."Simpson’s nostrils flared as he slammed his hand on the armrest of his seat in the limousine. He felt a sweat from in his forehead as he thought about how he would explain this to the Shadow council. He didn't want to face their wrath for this. "Then find him and arrest him, I don’t care how—lock down the city if you have to.""Yes, sir. Units are moving now," the officer replied hurriedly.Simpson ended the call with a sharp tap, his gaze hard and unblinking. Edward seated across from him in the limo, couldn't help asking. "What the hell happened?" "Liam Danvers escaped." Edward's eyes shot up in shock. Weren't they just talking to Liam Danvers in the holding cell not even 2 hours ago, so how did this happ
