Chapter 540

Liam didn't linger too much on his suspicion of Mrs. Wolfe. She didn't seem like the type to get involved in something as dishonest as hiring a photographer to tail him. Her disapproval of him was clear, but that didn’t mean she’d resort to such tactics… or so he convinced himself.

Liam flashed a smile at her and Karen, fully letting go of the idea. “Excuse me,” he said, and with that he walked off from them.

As he walked off, Mrs. Wolfe watched him closely, her expression unreadable. Karen noticed the way her mother was looking at him with suspicion and displeasure. Karen couldn't help feeling a hint of concern. This was nothing new, her mom didn't like Liam lately, ever since the news of him and Elena came out.

Mrs Wolfe used to be very eager for her daughter and Liam to get married, however not anymore. Liam had proved that he wasn't the best person to be with her daughter.
