Liam suspected that Mr. Simpson must have leveraged the mayor’s help to get Nathan out of jail. If that was true, it meant Mr. Simpson’s connections were even more extensive than Liam had anticipated. Being able to get the mayor's help was no small feat for a lot of people. However, to someone as powerful as the Simpsons it wasn't very hard.

But still, Liam wasn’t impressed. Mr. Simpson having strong connections with the mayor wasn’t such an impressive feat to him. The Danvers family had ties to far more powerful people in key positions across the country.

Liam let out a deep sigh as he put the phone down. He leaned back in his chair, rubbing his temples as he tried to think of his next move. The release of Nathan from jail felt like a direct challenge from Mr. Simpson, a test of power and influence. Liam had always known that the Simpsons were well-connected, but this was a bold move even for them, one that seemed to be a clear message: ‘We can reach just as far as you can.’
