In an instant, Liam and Karen were surrounded by goons. There were about five of them, one on each side and three standing behind them.

Liam and Karen quickly turned to face the person who had called out to them, their hearts pounding. As they turned, they saw Nathan standing behind them, flanked by two huge men. One of them had tattoos stretching from his neck to his face. The tattooed goon was carrying a big wrench while the other one wielded a baseball bat.

Stepping closer to where Liam and Karen were, Nathan smirked, a sinister glint in his eyes.

Liam's escape plan had failed, and it gave Nathan so much joy to see the look in Liam's eyes.

Nathan was thinking that Liam must have realized by now that this time there was nothing he could do to save himself. "Thought you could escape, did you?" Nathan taunted.

Liam didn't reply to Nathan's taunts, instead he positioned himself protectively in front of Karen. “Get behind me,” he said, his voice steady. He wanted her to get behind
