Less than 30 minutes later, Liam was in the dining room, having dinner with Megan, Karen and Mr Maxwell's family.

As they had dinner, there was an awkward silence between Karen and Liam who had sat beside each other. The tension between them was evident in their interactions which were limited to polite but brief exchanges. Usually Liam and Karen would be engaged in conversation's about their jobs during dinner or breakfast, but this time it was different, the atmosphere was just too awkward for the two of them, they could barely look at each other.

Karen stole quick glance at Liam, as she thought to herself, "Does he regret that we kissed so much." She wondered. She wished she could assure him that she liked the fact that he kissed her, but she was too nervous to talk about it with him.
