"I didn't know you're Noah's ex-wife. He never mentioned you to me—" he paused and laughed sarcastically. "Oh right. He hates me, so we're not close."

I blinked multiple times as I glanced at Nate who's playing in the playground.

"He hates you?" Noah hates him? That's given since he kicked him out of their father's company.
