Chapter 3 New neighbor

The day before I officially move to my condo,I got a call from my mom,inviting me to dinner.
I wanted to go.
They needed to know what Rissa had done.
I arrived at dinner,to see that my mom and dad seated.
“Oh my dear,We thought you couldn’t make it as your Rissa and Diego canceled.”My mother said,gingerly as she set up a table for me.
“Where’s your husband?Is he working late?”My dad asked.
I just shrugged.”Why couldn’t Diego make it?”
“His wife,Jasmine is having health issue.He has to stay with her tonight.”My mom said as she dished out the meal to me.”Being at the last stage of pregnancy isn’t easy.The baby’s coming any time soon.I’m so excited to be a Grandma.”She squealed and sat down.
I picked up my spoon.
“Lena,you and Dante have been married for almost three years ago.You got married before Diego did,don’t you think it’s time I get a grandchild from you two.”My mom probed.
I dropped my spoon and looked straight at her.
“I don’t think Dante wants a child with me.”
“Why is that?”
“Because he’s too busy shagging Rissa.”
My mom and dad looked shocked.
And then my mom laughed.”What kind of joke is that?”
“It’s not a joke,mom.Rissa,your daughter and my fucking sister has been having an affair with my husband.”
“De…dear…you must be mistaken…”My mom stuttered.
“I am not.I went through extreme lengths to get to the bottom of this,to make sure that I wasn’t mistaken.They’re currently on a trip to Venice together.”
“Why…why would Rissa do such a thing?Rissa,she…she has never done anything vile her whole life,there was must be a good reason for this…”
I scoffed.”Mom,are you kidding me?A good reason for shagging my husband and milking me off my money?!”
“Lena,calm down,I know you’re hurt but remember,she’s still your husband,plus Dante loves you very much,you must find a place in your heart to forgive them.”
I stood up to my feet,furiously.”What did I expect?That you’d take my side for once?You’ve always sided with Rissa,you literally can see no wrong in what she does!I hate you!”I yelled and stormed out of the house.
“Lena!”
“Lena!”My dad called after me but I didn’t respond.
He got up to me when I was about entering my car.
“If you’re here to…”
“I’m sorry.”He cut in.”As the father of both you and Rissa,I feel so ashamed of what she’s done.”
My dad had always been the quiet and calm type but sometimes I wished he was the one who was as hyperactive like my mom but I was glad he was different from him.
“Are you okay?”He asked me.
Tears filled my eyes and I choked out.
“I’m trying to be.”
He slowly hugged me and I did my best not to cry but the tears fell.
Could I ever recover from this betrayal?

Getting into my car,I revved out of the parking lot of the gym and drove into the road at a moderate speed.
I had my sunglasses on as I turned on my MP3 player....one of my favorite songs played out:

As usual,I sang along
I slowly came to a halt in the parking lot of the condo building where I live.
I got down from my car and I as strode towards the entrance.
My footsteps halted taking in the beauty in front of me.
Wow,was it possible to find someone extremely sexy on a pair of jeans,a sweatshirt and messy bun?
I didn't know but this lady looks hella sexy.
She's got a very cute backside.
She was struggling with three luggage.
Seems like she just moved in.
I quickly said a secret prayer hoping her condo would be on my floor.
The fact that I'm staring like a crazed-stalker bothered me so I walked up to her pulling off my dark shades.
"Hey there"I began.
She looked and me and mumbled something I couldn't hear.
"I can see you just moved in, I live on this building too.I'm Arturo Esteban."I slung her my *Mr cool smile* and offer my hand.
When our hands meet, I hope for that spark,that electricity that everyone talks about when they meet someone they're attracted to but it's not there and I want it to be.
I've seen a lot of women in my life...but none more beautiful than her.I don't know if it's the way her dark hair contrasts with her emerald eyes or the fact that I can picture her standing next to me at parties and in my kitchen as we make dinner together.
I haven't felt the need to get to know a woman just by standing next to her.
Her small hand is dwarfed by my much larger one and I'm shock to feel just how dainty she is.
"I'm Milena Gordon"She replied.
"It's nice to meet you"I said as I pull my hand away from hers.
I felt as if we lingered in our handshake,maybe a little longer than necessary.
None of it should mean anything,except that I feel like it does.
I fucking don't need a shock or that electrical current.
I want to know more about this woman.
I discreetly glanced at it her finger.
No ring!

"Let me help you with that"I offered taking two luggage.
"You don't have to"She replied trying to get them from me.
"C'mon,I insist"I pressed on and walked into the building.
She grabbed the last luggage and made after me.
We walked into the elevator and she pressed 9
Yes!
We live on the same floor.
I glanced down at her and she looks as uncomfortable as heck.
She's chewing on her bottom lip and impatiently looking at the numbers on the elevator.
I frowned.
Was there anything to be uncomfortable about.
I don't look scary,do I?
I brought out my cellphone and stared at the reflection on my face to confirm.
I'm still handsome.
I'm not trying to brag or anything but a lot of people,men and women have told me how handsome I am.
And my smile is dazzling too.
I always felt my smile could sweep any woman off her feet.
So what was she uncomfortable about?
When the elevator doors opened,we walk out and she stopped in front of a condo unit just opposite mine.
There were only these 2 condo units on this floor.They were the most expensive and I have always wondered if anyone would ever move in to the other one.
So she owns it?
And I finally have a neighbor.
Even if she seems uncomfortable now,I am going to take my time and get her under my charms.
"Thank you"She said as I dropped the luggage.
"So friends?"I asked.
"No."She replied, bluntly,opened her door and,dragged her luggage inside and slammed the door shut.
That was rude.
