Her plea lingered in his thoughts, implying that she wanted him to leave so she could talk to Norman Desmond alone.

"Do you have a car? I want to hitch a ride with you back home," Fiona Forger roughly guessed why she didn't want her eldest brother to enter the house. She was probably afraid he would see things he shouldn't see, so she remained firm, staring at her difficult older brother, and spoke up.

"I don't want to give you a ride," Damian Desmond didn't bother to look at him, "Give me the keys; open the door."

"I'll open it myself," Fiona Forger tightly held the key in her palm, "I can open it on my own. You go ahead."

Her repeated rejections only fueled his suspicions that she was hiding something; he even thought they were still living together. Just thinking about this ignited a fierce anger within him, and his tone grew colder. "If you stay, then open it."

"I won't open it." Hearing his stern tone, she felt a bit submissive, her eyes becoming teary. "Based on what?"
