The social worker drives Theo to my home, as I had to take the motorbike. She understands that I will get a car, which I will now have to drive Theo around in.
I let her inside the house.
"So, as you well know, I don't have any furniture for Theo's room, but I have already made arrangements to get it today. Let me show you where his room will be." I lead her to the guest room. She nods in approval.
"You have more than enough to keep Theo happy and comfortable. You handled telling him the terrible news very well. I know how hard this must be for you, but you will both be alright. So I'm sure you will get the hang of things, it will take time to figure out what to do, but if you need any help at all, please call me. You are now Theo's legal guardian." Rackel shakes my hand. I nod.
A hoot sounds from outside.
"That's Theo's furnitures, as well as the ca
“Hello, my darling.” She says softly. I try to smile, but it doesn’t help.I walk up to my parents and my brother, and we join in one big hug, and as if it was a mutual cry, we sob together, and sink to the floor slowly. We stay like that for a few minutes until Theo interrupts.“Guess what Granny and Papa!” He says excitedly, “I get to stay with Aunty Gale now!”My parents look at me heartbroken and at the statement, my mother wails in agony. I try to give Theo a smile and pick him up.“Alright. Let’s get you home young man. It’s really late.” I hug my parents goodbye.“Drive safely Gale.” They state, looking at me with tears in their eyes. I just nod. I drive Theo home and lead him upstairs."Here is your room Theo." I show him his room, I take him by the mad and let h
I wake up, still holding a little person in my arms. He stirs softly.“Hey Theo.” I smile and kiss his forehead.“Hello Aunty Gale.” He smiles and hus me tightly.“Shall we go and eat breakfast?” I ask. It’s Thursday morning. The funeral is tomorrow. Theo nods. I take his hand. We head downstairs.“Would you like some a peanut butter and jelly toasted sandwich?” He nods eagerly.I make it for him. He sits on one of the three barstools and spins around on it. I laugh at his innocent antics. He is like the little light I have at the end of the tunnel. I cried myself to sleep last night. T
“How about we go do something shopping today?” I ask. Theo groans.“Do we have to?” I nod.“There is nothing in the fridge, we will starve if we don’t go. It might be fun.” I convince. He nods.“Come. Let’s go get dressed.” I smile. I pick him up on a piggy back.I hand him what he must wear. It’s a little striped blue and white tee shirt, with dark blue pants and cute little spiderman flip flops. He loves that movie.I quickly get change into my own clothes, shorts and a tee shirt, along with flip flops of my own. I make sure that Theo has brushed his hair and his teeth. He has a tiny little toothbrush. My sister has already taught him how to brush his teeth. I grab my iPad.“I have a deal for you.” I say in the car, as we drive to the nearest grocery store.&l
The funeral service was beautiful. It was sad at the same time. The attributes to my sister and her husband were beautiful. I gave a speech, and brought Theo up with me. It's Monday today. That means I have to go to work. I drive Theo to his kindergarten. I walk out with him, hand in hand. A lady comes to greet me. "Hello. You must me Miss Armstrong. Theo's godmother." I nod and smile. "Hey Theo, why don't you go play?" She says and he laughs, joining his little friends. "So," She smiles and rubs my back. "I know this journey is going to be long and hard. I'm here to help you. You haven't done this before. I have. Three times. My name is Kyla. I'm here to help you through this. Alright?" I nod slowly. "Thank you. That means a lot." I smile sadly. "Sure." She rubs my back. "It ends at 12. See you by at I'm then." I nod and head back to the car. It smells like her. It smells like Roses, her favorite fl
I head over and bury myself in work. My watch buzzes. It's 11:45. I quickly drive to pick up Theo.He runs over to me. "Hey mommy!" He smiles and runs up to me and grips me in a hug."I made this for you mommy." He gives me a painted picture. It's of a little stick figure, and a bigger stick figure."Is this you and me?" I ask, he nods eagerly. "I love you, baby." I pick him up and buckle him into his chair."Alright. I bought you some coloring in books and crayons. We are going to mommy's work. You can sit at my desk, and you can watch Tom and Jerry. Is that alright baby?"He nods eagerly and I hand him his books. We arrive at the office and I lead him hand in hand to my office. I brought in an extra chair for Theo. However, I find him turning around in my chair happily, colouring in with an orange crayon. I laugh."What are you coloring in baby?" I ask, holding a file, and filing pieces into it.
I stare at him open mouthed. "Like seriously?" He raises an eyebrow. "Yeah." He says, and looks at me pointedly, as if to say, "Well, duh." "Well then no." I say. His mouth drops ope . He laughs, and then looks at me. He stops laughing. "Wait ... You just declined my offer." He says, as of it sounds foreign to him. Like he doesn't quite understand. "Yeah." I smile. Nice one Gale. "Wait ... You're serious?" He looks taken aback, and the signature smirk which lines his features is replaced by a look of complete surprise. It is quite amusing, actually. He can't quite believe it can He? "Yup." I smile, innocently. "Well, it's getting super late, and I have my kid, so I better get going." I smile, and Aidan still looks at me puzzled, as if he can't quite place his fing
"HE LOVES you mommy!" Theo shouts, interrupting me from my thoughts. I force the tears away, and look in the review mirror. "You think so?" I ask, trying to smile at him in the review mirror. Seeing the little body in the backseat, makes me smile. I love this child so much. "I know so!" He jumps excitedly in the backseat. I laugh. "Should we put on some music?" I ask. Theo nods eagerly. I put on a song, and surprisingly, the little boy knows the whole song, off by heart. I laugh and roll my eyes. "What's for supper tonight?" Theo asks, stopping his singing. &nbs
The next morning, i drop Theo off. I have put on jeans and flip flops. He hasn't sent me the dresses, so I'm not wearing them until I have them. I drive to work. Everyone eyes my footwear. It might be unprofessional, but I'm going to enjoy my heel free time. I walk into my office, and Aidan is sitting on my desk smirking. Around him are a bunch of shopping bags. "Go on then." He smiles innocently. "Your bag for today." He says, handling me a bag. I don't even want to look inside. I groan and walk to the bathroom to change. I put out white Louis Vuitton stiletto heels. No! I groan and pit them onto my feet. I put my jeans and flip flops into the bag and walk out back into my office. Aidan is sitll sitting on the desk, looking through a file. He spins around at the sound of my heels. i almost tripped. Oops! Aidan's eyes widen. "You clean up nice, Armstrong." He says. I glare at him. He just shrugs it off. "The bet is ofic
It's beautiful. It is a flpping huge mansion. Theo squeals in awe, "Look at it mommy! It;s so big! Even bigger than our house!" I smile at how cute he is. I park in the drive. I unbuckle him ffrom his car seat and grap his bags. I take his hand and lead him to the front door. "Is this Mr. Boss man's house?" He asks. "No. This is his mommy and daddy's house. We are coming to visit them and Mr. Boss Man." I smile silly to myself as I think about his innocent made uo nickname. The doorb opens to reveal a causally dressed Aidan. I realise now that I forgot to change. The hassle of having a child. I have a grey beanie on, a pink sweater, and on top of that, a black jacket, and finally blue jeans, whick are paired with some high heeled boots. Aidan has cancelled the dress thing because as it gets colder, the more impossible it becomes to keep waem in a dress. Nevertheless, the whole high heel thing became worse. He is now forcing me to wear six inches, He pulls me in for a hug. "H
Christmas seems to be approaching very quickly. I bought Theo a moving train set, which we will place around his room because he absolutely adores them. i also bought him a little bicycle, which doesnt have any pedals on it, but heh as to make it move nu pushing his lgegs on the floor. i ahv already wrapped up all his presents because his little prying eyes seems to discover things they shouldnt. he likes opening cupboards. I have ha to child- proof the entire hourse, and yet his little fingers still seeem to get into things. He loves climbing as well. I ahave found him on the kitchen countertops, where he balled his eyes out becauese he got stuck.I grab my bag, throw on a beanie, and find Theo. "let's go. I need to get one last present for my boss. Do you want to come?" I smile. He nods eagerly. "Alright. Let's go then." I smile. "What are we going to buy, Mom?" He asks. "I'm thinking about a new watch. he loves them." I explain. Theo nods eagerly in the back seat. "Just like he
As I walk into the office, and I finally manage not to stumble. I have almost mastered the art of working in heels. It's learnt skill. Today, Aidan made me wear high heeled boots, and a turtle neck dress which is actually really pretty. It's navy blue, and the ankle boots match perfectly. They are actually really pretty. It's flippon cold outside though, so I have a coat on, along with a scarf. i sit down and busy myself with my work. i was just about to call back another company who had asked for an appointment, when I am interrupted. "You must ne Gale." A voicded says and my head snaps upwards. It's Airah Fosters. Aidan's sister. i smile. "The one and only!" I grin. "You must be Airah. Congratulations on your wedding!" I smile and stand up to work over to her. The resemblance between the Johnsons siblings is undeniable. Airah is a female version of Aidan. She is shorter though, and more petite, while Aidan is more well built and towers over me. Her blue eye
"Hello Sleepy head. I've gone out with Airah for lunch. If you need me, you know what to do - G" I write, and draw a smiley face, and out it on his laptop. I grab my bag. put my beanie on my head and head out. It's starting to snow outside. Airah smiles and leads me to her car. It's a gorgeous red Mclaren. I hop into the front passenger's seat. "What about David?" I ask. "He's got his own car." She smiles and we drive off. I don't think that it is such a good idea to drive with her in the car, because she's technically a racing driver. Which might not be such a bad thing. If she is a racing driver, that mean he reaction time must be insane. However, she drives extremely fast as she speeds through the traffic, but, she seems to be a really good driver so I don't say anything. She bursts out laughing. "What?" I ask. Airah just laughs harder, and looks in her review mirror. "You should see your face! You are nervous aren't you? Especially since I
"The thought of settling down scares me." He pauses, "I guess doing, Er... what I do, it just makes me feel that I won't ever have to settle down. I still have a chance to live out my life and not have to be tied down by someone. Doing this, it makes sure that i don't meet her, that it won't ever go further than a one day thing, that I won't find her, and that I can stay free and not have to worry about whether she will leave me alone or hurt me. I can't do that to myself. I can't put myself through losing her. I don't want to take the risk, and plus, I will never be good enough for her, whoever she would be. She deserves so much better than me." He admits. I soften. I never knew he had that side. I thought he would come up with a stupid answer like "Its fun" or "I just haven't found the right one yet." I'm beginning to like him a lot more, that is until he added, "However, I am also Aidan Johnson. Player, smoking hot billionaire. I can get any girl I set my sight on. Why shouldn't?
“The Tuba.” He answers.“Seriously? If you could play any instrument you would play the tuba?” I burst out laughing. Aidan joins me and nods.“This lasagna is seriously fantastic. I can’t remember the last time I have had home cooked lasagna.” He comments interrupting me. I look at him sadly. That’s sucks. While it might be great to have chefs at home, I don’t think I could stand not having my mom’s delicious chicken pie, or her delicious pancakes. I think there are lot benefits to growing up rich, but not having a home cooked meals is not one of them. I shake my head.“Okay. Last two questions.” He smiles, interrupting me from my thoughts.“Alright. You ask first.” I urge. Aidan shakes his head and takes another bite of the lasagna.“Nope. Ladies ask first.” He argue and I sigh.“You have to argue with everything don’t you? And that i
“Gale Armstrong has completed her degree in Medicine with a diploma. Congratulations on this great achievement and all your hard work! We will see you at the graduation ceremony on Wednesday Morning.” He reads. I squeal. I did it! I had done it! I had passed my degree! Aidan looks at me excitedly.“You did it, Armstrong!” He smiles, looking a little sad.“Hey, why are you sad?” I slap his arm. “I passed my degree! You can get rid of my smart ass!”“That’s the thing, Gale. I don’t want to get rid of your smart ass.” He says sincerely. My eyes widen.“Naah. I get on your nerves!” I brush away his confession.“You might, but I still don’t want to get rid of you!” He admits, grinning, “But only because I will have to hire another useless assistant who can’t do anything except sit there and look pretty.”“I did more than j
“Hey! Just what do you think you are doing? Driving my car?” I ask as I get into the passenger’s seat. “Where is your car?”“I believe that the guy should always drive around the girl. Not because she can’t drive or anything, but because I can hold her hand as my other hand is on the steering wheel.” He explains. I never saw Aidan like this. He’s so romantic. It’s so sweet actually. Really sweet. &nb
I walked into Aidan’s office. He is sitting behind his desk, looking bored. I smirk. This is my chance to tempt him. “You want to kiss someone don’t you? Are you getting your player urges? It’s the withdrawals I’m telling you. Well, if you want to feel better, go ahead! I totally understand!” I tease interrupting him from his thoughts. I smile innocently, as he narrows his eyes. “Sweetheart, I bet that you
