Nico’s POV

“She’ll be fine, don't worry about that,” I assured him, slightly surprised that he was thinking of her.

“No, Nico. You don't just keep her safe. Protect her and keep her close always. They'll try to kill her. The family... they won’t understand.”

“Antonio, save your strength. We can talk about this later…” I insisted, though the truth was already clear in his eyes.

“There is no later,” he said firmly, cutting me off. “You have to tell Isabella. It'll be hard but make them get along. She’ll hate me for keeping Beth a secret, but...”

His voice cracked and he coughed out blood and I grimaced in anger feeling helpless next to him.

I swallowed hard, nodding. “I’ll tell her. I’ll make her understand.”

Antonio’s grip loosened, and I knew his end was near as his hand fell to his side. His eyes were weak and closed intermittently but I could see the pleading look in them and knew that he took it seriously. “Promise me, Nico.”

“I promise. Addio fratello,” I said fiercely bidding hi

Beth's POVMy eyelids fluttered open as I looked in astonishment at my surroundings. It was the early hours of the morning and I tried to place where I was as I was in an unfamiliar place but I couldn't do so.The pressing thing on my mind was how badly my head was throbbing and the fact that I was in a strange bed that wasn't mine.I tried to get up which I immediately regretted as it only got worse and I collapsed back on the bed quickly.I had to be content with inspecting my surroundings from the bed and the first impression I got was favourable. Scary in a way but favourable.I was in a grand king sized bed which was just as spacious and majestic as the room. It was just as I imagined a British princess room would be. Everything from the wardrobe to the oval mirror screamed wealth and grandeur.Suddenly the events of the previous night flooded my mind and I gasped as I remembered all that happened. My hand instinctively went to my pocket to see if my phone was on me but it gra

Anna's POV “What was that about?” Dorian asked as soon as we got out of earshot.“You wouldn't believe what just happened now,” I said, my face still flushed from what had happened.I was struggling to keep up with him as he had long strides. I was about to complain but stopped myself from doing so.Whatever happened, he was still my boss so I had no right to complain. If he noticed my discomfort, he did nothing about it and I was relieved when we reached his office. As we got inside, I saw Brenda already there. It seemed she was reporting to him and they had been working together before Dorian had stepped out to check what had happened. She acknowledged me with a small nod as our eyes met. I didn't know why I always felt slightly sorry for her whenever I came across her. Perhaps it was due to the fact that she worked long hours at work and appeared to have no life outside the company.“You can tell me what happened now,” Dorian said, reclining in his chair as he folded his hands

Beth's POV “When you are ready, go in. The Dungeon will be conquered by those who are worthy.”“What a load of bollocks,” Neron said to himself at the man's parting words which he still found cringe. The atmosphere of the place was charged though as the Adventurers were impatient to get on with it.Inadvertently, the Noble had given them the finders keepers mindset so they were anxious to go further into the Dungeon. They shifted from each other as everyone wanted to go about it on their own so they wouldn't have to worry about dividing the spoils.Just as the batch in front pressed forward, a high-pitched, melodic voice rang through the walls, halting them in their tracks.“Hold, trespassers!”The voice echoed from above, though nobody saw where it came from.Confusion swept through the crowd and some of the Adventurers stretched their necks to see better while others automatically tightened their grips on their weapons. Neron’s attention was caught too but his eyes were sharper th

Beth's POV "Sir Ralyks, I’d like you to meet Yuri. She’s one of the best fighters in the KariBlanc combat force," Aldred said warmly, gesturing towards her.Beside Aldred stood a woman with a bright smile on her face. Her hair was a bright shade of pink, cropped short just above her shoulders. Her eyes sparkled like emeralds in the sunlight, reflecting her confidence.Despite her warrior status, Yuri’s appearance was unexpectedly casual. She wore an oversized shirt paired with baggy trousers that resembled a skirt at first glance. She had clear skin, and her bright smile made it impossible to tell that she was a warrior. Her overall demeanor was positive, so Rey was initially taken aback once the introduction was made."Hello, um… I mean, greetings, Sir! I’m Yuri, as you already know. I assure you, I’m quite capable, so feel free to rely on me whenever you need!" Yuri greeted enthusiastically. The young lady raised both her hands as if trying to flex her muscles, but nothing except

Beth's POV “This… is it.”Right in front of Rey was a door. It was so poorly made that it seemed crooked at best.Any sufficient pressure applied to it would be enough to break the door into bits.‘They put slaves behind this? Are they not worried they’ll try to escape?’Rey surmised that the captors were probably confident that the captives would be unable to escape, so he shrugged the thought from his mind.‘Alicia and Billy are both strong. The people here must have a way to restrain them.’That told Rey that he couldn’t be complacent. He activated [Safe Haven], just in case, and proceeded to open the door.~CREAK~The door easily opened without Rey exerting much of an effort, and it revealed a room shrouded in darkness to him.‘What’s this smell…?’ A sickly sweet smell filled the air, making Rey nearly nauseated.Thankfully, his [Full Resistance] kicked in. Still, he felt like it would be safer to leave as quickly as possible.‘This is probably a sedative that keeps them this way

Beth's POV ‘Interesting…’ As Rey proceeded to leave the underground space, he used his Absolute Appraisal two more times.Once on Alicia, and the other time on Billy. As a result, he was able to check out their Status Windows and gauge their abilities.‘They’re strong. Their Classes really help them out too…’However, despite their strength, their low Levels meant they were nowhere near his own power level. Rey knew he was much stronger.‘Alicia, as expected, is Lawful Good. But, I can’t figure out Billy’s alignment. How can he be Good?’Billy’s alignment displayed ‘Chaotic Good’, but Rey found the ‘Chaotic’ part irrelevant since he didn’t think the jerk was any good.‘Haaa… this idiot started this whole mess…’However, he was glad to know that it was all going to be over pretty soon.‘It’s almost evening already. A lot of time has passed since I started the day, but I’m happy it’s done.’His mind drifted to Adonis and his mission, wondering if it was a success.‘From what I overhe

Beth's POV Rey’s heart was racing as he stared at the coordinates. His fists were tightly clenched, and he felt his eyes growing bloodshot.‘Why would Alicia be in the Black Market?’ Instantly, he knew she couldn’t have been there willingly. She was clearly in some kind of trouble.‘Is it because of Billy? I’m sure it’s him!’Remembering the face of his former best friend was enough to make him grit his teeth. He was extremely annoyed.Despite his annoyance, Rey felt a wave of relief wash over him. ‘At least I found her. Ditching the rest and coming here on my own really was the right move.’Rey managed to slip away from the watchful eyes of the Investigation Squad and come here on his own after they split up to look for clues. Thanks to that, he managed to slip into the Black Market space.‘I simply guessed that I could use their network or information channels to find Alicia.’Rey had figured they would use Tracking Magic on their Items, but he didn’t expect it to be this detaile

Beth's POV ‘Finally…’Rey heaved a sigh as he deactivated [Heat Touch]. It was a Skill he had recently acquired on the 10th Floor, along with another pretty intense one.Now that the manager was willing to talk, he withdrew his hand from her head, though he kept his other hand firmly around her neck. If she tried anything suspicious, Rey was prepared to use Lightning to teach her a lesson.‘I thought this would take forever, but luckily she's cooperating.’ “Stand,” Rey told Sylvia, and she instantly obeyed.“Lead me there.”“W-wha—?!”“I said, take me there,” Rey repeated, his grip on her neck tightening slightly. Sylvia stopped her protests, understanding his intent.“Let’s go.”***********The path to the Underground Area was unsurprisingly on the Ground Floor. It was in a room disguised as a mere storage room where old furniture and cleaning supplies could be found lying around. However, right on the ground, there existed a clearing that could be opened up, like a secret compart

Beth's POV I woke up the next morning pensive and annoyed, partly because I had a restless night punctuated with brief dreams and overthinking. I was motionless for a minute as I tried to remember the details of the dream but gave up when I couldn't recall it.I looked at my phone and groaned as I saw the time. I had overslept which was something that happened rarely as I was a stickler for routine. With a manic burst of energy, I got up and began preparing for work. I needed no one to tell me that my day was only going to get more weird.Once my schedule was broken, it was only natural that the rest of the day became shitty. I knew that much from experience. My pensive mood continued as I drove to the office and I only heard my name after I had been called at least thrice. I snapped at Brenda when she got in my business then asked her to call a mandatory meeting for all employees. She didn't hurry to do it but hesitated a bit and I knew she was curious as to why I was calling a me

“What do you think about all this, Aldred?”As Rey’s question echoed in the air, Aldred gave a knowing smile—as if he already expected the question.“It’s probably a ruse. The actual Warehouse must be hidden underground.” Rey made a slight grimace underneath his mask.‘Just as I suspected…’Even with this discovery, it didn’t change what they had to do. ‘We still have to invade. The entrance to the underground passage must be here somewhere.’Rey almost felt like he was invading the territory of a mafia group or some sort of cartel. He hadn’t done it before, but it seemed like this was how it would feel.“This establishment is run by Evals Redart, the biggest guy in business in the South.” Aldred went on, his tone still retaining the same hint of amusement from earlier.“I don’t imagine that we’d run into him here, but if we do, then the KariBlanc Group would like to stay out of it.”Rey let out a sigh and shrugged lightly.“I hadn’t planned for both of you to come inside with me a

‘Ah… I see. So that’s how it is…’Rey smiled as he stared at his opponent.Even though his eyes were on the BigFoot-like creature, his senses also observed the ceiling where it fell from.‘There are more of them lurking above.’ Rey couldn’t see them even if he tried. There was a reason he hadn’t detected any until this one landed to confront him.‘A Camouflage Skill, maybe? Interesting…’ These creatures were masters of blending into their environment, making them nearly impossible to detect unless someone paid close attention.‘Even now, I can only detect their movements due to the sound they make and slight distortions they cause in space.’He still couldn’t see them properly.‘I already have [Stealth], which basically allows me to be invisible. But I guess this isn’t too bad either.’ When Rey raised his head and studied the Skill, he figured that the camouflage ability would be more than enough for it to be registered by [Doppel].He sighed softly and turned his attention back to

The deal was sealed after that.Aldred Winsley used an Enchanted Item to calculate the amount of Monster Cores in each sack, and by multiplying them with the agreed price, they arrived at the selling price. It turned out to be a whopping 4,650 Platinum Coins!‘I still can’t believe this…’Rey was trying his best to remain composed after hearing such an insane number, but his heart raced uncontrollably.Adding that to his balance of 1,251 Platinum Coins, he now possessed 5,901 Platinum Coins in total.‘I never thought I’d get this much at once… let alone now!’ Rey felt like he was pulling off a scam, but he didn’t feel guilty. Why would he? This was the Black Market, after all.‘Once the Monster Cores start flooding in, these guys will be in trouble. I should probably avoid this place for a while…’Rey felt a sense of satisfaction knowing he had enough money for the moment. Now, it was time to focus on training; distractions like this were unnecessary.“As always, it’s a pleasure d

“Haha! Is it all done?” A hefty man, his belly protruding, emerged from the 'staff-only' room.He had blood stains on his hand, and each finger had rings on them. His fat-ridden body moved slowly as he cleaned his bloodied hands with a rag and flung it to the side once he was done.“Oh, Leader? Did you kill that woman already?” One of the men who had secured both Alicia and Billy said with a somewhat disappointed face.“What do you think?” The fat man replied, a twisted grin on his faceThough he had cleaned his hands, stains of red still appeared in some areas.“I-I see… I shouldn’t have asked in the first place."In all honesty, this man—as well as the rest of his six comrades—wanted to have his way with her.He had been looking forward to enjoying the waitress for some time now.‘When we killed her Boss and took over this shop, I expected my time to come soon…’He felt frustrated that his Leader had done away with her already.“She intentionally tripped, that woman. “This isn’t how it’s supposed to go…”Adonis muttered to himself, his gaze fixed on the night sky. While he couldn’t recall every single detail from the past, this particular incident was engraved in his memory.‘The kidnapping of Billy and Alicia… it’s supposed to happen way further in the future!’Sure, a lot of things had been altered now, but he hadn’t expected such a drastic change to the original timeline.‘They’ll nearly be sold at the slave auction a few days after being captured, but thankfully the investigation was done before the auction was completed.’As a result, the Royal Knights swooped in and apprehended a lot of criminals in the Black Market and Slavery World.Unfortunately, this huge victory came with a great loss.‘Alicia’s mental state became unstable and she went insane. Billy was fine, but he was so concerned with Alicia’s health that he didn’t focus on training any longer…’Eventually, Alicia’s mental health deteriorated to the point where she eventually commi

“Sir! It’s such a pleasant surprise to see you!” Rey was instantly greeted by a very excited Aldred Winsley. The man was grinning sheepishly at him. He seemed almost starstruck, like a fan meeting their favorite celebrity for the first time.‘He’s literally gushing…’ was Rey’s impression as he nodded slightly, entering the room.‘I was just asking your subordinate here when we might see you next.’Rey glanced at Noah and noticed him giving an uncomfortable smile.‘Were they pressuring him to convince me to come? Is that why he took so long?’It was just a guess, so Rey dismissed it.“In any case, it really is good to have you here. We have a lot to discuss.”Taking a seat on the sofa, Rey observed as Noah quickly positioned himself behind him.‘Good. He knows how to keep appearances without me needing to tell him…’ Rey felt relieved.Noah seemed to be able to handle himself in business now, but sometimes he was still an indecisive klutz.Like now, when he allowed his time to be delay

The KariBlanc Group’s Central headquarters was a three-story building. Its Ground Floor was used for commerce. Its First Floor was used for brokerage and special transactions—as well as the storage of regular Items. As for the Second Floor, it was used for three major purposes.First, it housed the cream of the crop in terms of products. Second, it was where those products received their final touches, ensuring excellence. And as for the final reason, it lay behind the door that Aldred was about to open. The manufacturing stations were situated in the bulkier half of the building, which served as an extension to the back.Since the building had a lot of space—especially at the rear, it wasn’t surprising that manufacturing operations occurred there. That place was also off-limits to those without authorization, but compared to those areas, it was the real deal. The Holy of Holies.‘I haven’t taken permission from father to do this, but…’He already knew what his father would say in thi
