Serena froze when she stepped into her home.

It looked exactly as it had when she left. The Lloyd family members had not gone to tend to their wounds. Instead, they sat in the center of the living room, chatting casually.

From their expressions, it seemed they were waiting for something.

When they heard the door open, their gazes shifted immediately.

However, when they saw that Serena still looked radiant and beautiful without a hint of their own disheveled state, a flash of disappointment crossed their faces.

Hailey frowned and asked coldly, "Aren't you supposed to be signing the contract with the Verdant Harvest Charity Foundation? Why are you back so soon?"

Before Serena could reply, Etchen sneered, "No need to ask. She probably got halfway there, realized she was useless, and came slinking back, afraid of hitting a wall."

Serena had signed the contract so smoothly and quickly, so the Lloyd family thought she had not even gone to sign it at all and had simply returned.
