Chapter 162

Liam did not notice the change in Serena's attitude as she stood behind him. When he saw the iron gate of the prison closing in front of him, Liam was momentarily stunned. He had not expected this to happen.

Then, Liam extended his hand again and knocked on the prison's large iron gate.

Knock, knock, knock!

Upon hearing the knocks, a prison guard poked his head out again as he impatiently asked, "What are you doing? Didn't I tell you? Without an appointment, there's no way you can visit!"

Liam calmly replied, "Go and report to your warden, and tell him that Liam Burrey has returned."

The guard snorted upon hearing Liam's words. It was clear he did not take it seriously. "Liam who? Fine, wait here then!"

With that, the guard turned and slammed the gate shut.

Liam frowned slightly as he turned to Serena and said patiently, "Let's wait a bit, Serena. I didn't know that the Third Prison now requires appointments. Just wait a little while. The warden will come out to greet us soon—"
