Minutes ticked by, one after the other, as I sat there in the office room. The door shut behind them, leaving me alone with my thoughts. They kept repeating that they wouldn't hurt me and that I needed to be there, but I couldn't shake the feeling of unease. I reached for my phone, hoping for a lifeline to the outside world, only to find that no one had tried to reach me.

I felt lost, like a person with no destination. I was used to moving around and exploring new places, but this was different. I was traveling aimlessly, without any sense of purpose or direction. It wasn't that I was afraid of strangers - I met new people every day - but the fact that they had abducted me without explanation didn't sit well with me.

Despite my anxiety, I couldn't help but take in my surroundings. The house was enormous, a sprawling mansion that seemed to go on forever. It was clear that the people who brought me here were wealthy and powerful.

Suddenly, Cole appeared in the doorway. He said he would be giving me a better room and asked me to stay for a few days until he could tell me why he had brought me here.

"Well let's see," I couldn't help but murmur as I thought of agreeing to it. I was getting free food and a roof for some days. And might I just stay and plan my other destinations.

I made my way to the room that had been assigned to me, backpack in tow. As I stepped inside, I noticed the adjoined bathroom, which was small but functional. Cole had promised me a bigger and better room, and I couldn't help but wonder what kind of accommodations he had in store for me.

I set my backpack down and began to unpack my belongings. I fished out a loose shirt and a pair of pants, intending to change into something more comfortable. As I was rummaging through my things, my eyes landed on a photo frame that I had tucked away in my bag.

I picked up the frame, cradling it in my hands. My fingers grazed the edges of the photograph, and suddenly a flood of memories came rushing back. It was as if I had been transported to another time and place, reliving a moment that had been long forgotten. I stood there for a moment, lost in my thoughts, before finally shaking myself out of it and placing the photo frame down on the dresser.

I was transported back to a time long ago, a memory from my childhood flooding back into my mind. I held the photo frame in my hands, running my fingers over the smooth surface. The picture inside was of my family, taken years ago when we were all still together.

In the photo, my elder brother Ryan and I were arguing over who got to sit with our mother. I remembered the feeling of frustration and disappointment when my father had intervened and allowed Ryan to have his way. But then, as I looked closer, I noticed the way my mother had opened her arms to me, inviting me to sit on her lap. I could practically feel the warmth of her embrace, the love and acceptance that had always been present in our family.

I smiled at the memory, feeling a sense of nostalgia wash over me. It was a reminder of a simpler times. As I set the photo frame back down on the dresser, I knew that no matter what happened in the days to come, that memory would always be with me, a beacon of hope and comfort in uncertain times.

"Get a hold on yourself Adie" I whispered to myself.

Every time I set out on a journey, I made it a point to buy new clothes. There was something about wearing fresh, unblemished attire that made me feel like a brand new person. And so, as soon as I arrived at my destination, I made a beeline for the nearest store and picked out a few outfits that spoke to me.

After a long day of travelling, nothing felt quite as luxurious as a hot shower. I let the water cascade down my skin, washing away the grime of the road, and lathered up with my favourite Lavender body wash. As I emerged from the steamy bathroom, I felt refreshed and invigorated.

Dressed in spandex and a T-shirt, I tied my hair up into a neat ponytail and tossed my old clothes into the laundry box. I was ready to take on the world.

But as I stepped out of the bathroom, I was met with a surprise. A blonde girl stood in the doorway, a curious expression on her face. I wondered how she had gotten into my room, but before I could say anything, she turned to face me.

"Uh! Hello, Lun- uh- I am Bella and I'm here to give you your snacks" she said stuttering in the middle.

"I am Adie,"

I gave her a reassuring smile and thanked her for the snacks. As I munched on my Oreos, Bella sat down on the edge of the bed and started making small talk. She asked me about my hobbies and interests, and I answered politely, but my mind kept wandering back to the situation at hand.

Finally, I couldn't take it anymore. "Bella, can I ask you something?" I said, looking at her earnestly.

"Sure, Adie, what's on your mind?" she replied, turning towards me.

"What's going on here? Why am I here? Why did Cole bring me here?" I asked, feeling my anxiety spike.

Bella's expression turned serious as she took a deep breath. "I can't tell you much, Adie, but what I can say is that you're safe here. Cole is a good person, and he would never hurt you. He just needs some time to explain things to you," she said, her voice gentle and reassuring.

I nodded, feeling slightly comforted by her words, but the uncertainty was still gnawing at me. I finished my snack and thanked Bella for her kindness before laying back down on the bed, staring up at the ceiling, lost in thought. "I don't like this room," I stated as if it was a matter of fact.

"Uh About that, I'll be showing you your room after you are done with your snacks. Alpha has alloted me for this work" she said and I nodded.

"Why are you all calling him Alpha?" I asked and noticed as the color drained from her face.

"Uh He owns this place. He is our leader an-" I cut her off questioning "Leader? What are you all? Mafia ?" I asked making her scowl at me."Uh, no, no. We are not involved in any criminal activities. We are away from Huma- uh uh" she began to stammer but I did catch the word which she wanted to say "Humans".

Away from Humans?

What does that mean?

It came as a surprise when I found out that she was actually 21 years old. She didn't quite look the part of a mature adult, but I reminded myself not to be judgmental. After finishing up my snacks, I got up from the bed and clapped my hands together.

"So, time to show me my room," I said, beaming with enthusiasm. Bell chuckled at my eagerness.

"Okay. Get your bags and follow me," she said, allowing me a few moments to gather my belongings. I picked up my bags and trailed after her.

As we walked down the hallway, I could hear the distant chatter of people talking, cheering, gossiping, and laughing. I couldn't help but wonder who these individuals were and what their story was.

We ascended a flight of stairs and arrived at another hallway. Bell led me to a stop before a room and beamed as she opened the door for me. I smiled at her and stepped into the room, awestruck by the beautiful interior. It was significantly larger than the previous room, with a queen-sized bed in the middle of the space, complete with a canopy. A large glass window sat at the head of the bed, flanked by two doors, likely a walk-in closet and an attached bathroom. A LED screen was affixed to the wall, underneath a spacious cupboard filled to the brim with books. There was even a crimson couch situated next to the wall. The walls were painted in shades of purple and white, creating a cozy and inviting atmosphere.

"Do you like it?" Bell asked from behind me, a hint of excitement in her voice.

I turned around, grinning like a fool. "I love it," I exclaimed.

Soon Bell excused herself and her departure left me alone to soak in the ambiance of my new abode. I took my time walking around the room, admiring the furnishings and decor. The space felt so cozy and welcoming, like a warm embrace. After some time, I found myself drawn to the queen-sized bed in the middle of the room. Without hesitation, I threw myself onto the soft and comfortable mattress, relishing in the sensation of sinking into the fluffy bedding.

"Heaven," I muttered, my eyes drifting closed as I felt the weariness of my journey overtake me. Soon enough, I found myself drifting off into a peaceful slumber, feeling content and at ease in my new surroundings.

A/N

Is it weird that a person has been kidnapped but instead of panicking she just makes herself home? Hmm, what's wrong with this female character?

Aderyn "Let me go!" I screamed, thrashing wildly, my wrists burning from the tight restraints. My voice echoed in the dimly lit room, but there was no mercy in the eyes that watched me struggle.Dylan’s lips curled into a sinister grin as he stepped closer, the flickering light casting long shadows across his face. "And what will we eat if we let you go, huh?" His tone was mocking, cruel, filled with an unspoken hunger."We're really hungry, Adie," Bell chimed in, her voice carrying a false sweetness that sent a shiver down my spine. She held up a fork, twirling it between her fingers like a toy."Bell, I thought we were friends!" I cried, my voice cracking with desperation. My limbs ached as I fought against the bindings that held me to the cold, hard table."Humans can never be our friends, Adie. We can’t be friends with our food. What would we eat to survive then?" Bell’s eyes darkened, and she let out a cold, humorless laugh. She drew a knife from her belt, the blade glinting wi

  • Beyond and Wild   Chapter 17

The sun dipped below the horizon, casting long shadows across the landscape as Dylan and I walked side by side through the quiet park. The air was crisp, the colors of the evening sky melting into deep purples and pinks. We had been walking for hours, our silence as comfortable as a soft blanket, the kind you don't need to speak to appreciate.Occasionally, our hands brushed against each other, sending a spark of warmth through me. I could feel the subtle connection in those fleeting touches, the kind that spoke of something unspoken, something deeper. Dylan’s presence was calming, and though words were unnecessary, the gentle brush of his fingers against mine was reassuring. As we strolled, I noticed how his steps fell in sync with mine, how our breaths seemed to align with the rhythm of the evening. We walked past a serene pond, the last rays of sunlight casting a golden glow over the water. Dylan stopped and looked out at the rippling surface, his profile illuminated by the fading

  • Beyond and Wild   Chapter 16

Lying on my bed, I shiver as a cold wave ripples through me. The room is too cold, too empty, so I force myself up, stumbling across the floor to switch off the air conditioning. The click of the button is like a release, and I quickly crawl back under the covers, seeking warmth in the familiar softness of my bed. I flop onto the mattress, the springs creaking under my weight, a sound that seems to echo in the quiet room. I close my eyes, trying to find peace, but the darkness behind my eyelids is restless, swirling with thoughts I can’t quite grasp. How long I lie there, I don’t know. But eventually, sleep claims me, pulling me down into its depths. When I open my eyes, I’m no longer in my bed. I’m standing in a forest, surrounded by tall trees, their leaves whispering secrets I can’t understand. The air is thick with the scent of earth and damp wood, and I can feel the cool, rough texture of the ground beneath my bare feet. What am I doing here?Panic starts to rise in my chest as

  • Beyond and Wild   Chapter 15

I lean back in my chair, the weight of exhaustion pressing heavily on my eyelids. It’s been years since I’ve had a proper night’s rest. The responsibilities of being King aren’t something you can put on hold. The endless meetings, border disputes, and preparations for the Senior Wolves’ arrival have all taken their toll. My body screams for sleep, but my mind refuses to let go.Finally, I decide to give in. I’ll allow myself a few hours, just enough to keep going. As I lay down on the bed, the moment my head hits the pillow, a sharp knock interrupts the silence. I groan inwardly, rolling over to ignore it, but the knocking persists, growing louder and more insistent. When I opened the door, there stood Cole’s sister, a small, tentative smile on her face. She started talking, but I was too groggy to make sense of whatever she was saying. My mind was still tangled in sleep, struggling to process her words. Then, a voice, smooth and sexy, cut through the haze. It jolted me awake instan

  • Beyond and Wild   Chapter 14

Aderyn Pov The cool morning air nipped at my skin as Bell and I walked toward the gym. Bell’s excitement was practically contagious, her steps light and quick as she bounced beside me, clad in a pink tank top and black slacks. She looked like she was ready to conquer the world—or at least the gym. I couldn’t help but smile at her enthusiasm, even though my own feelings were a mix of confusion and apprehension.“Why are you dressed like that?” I asked, glancing down at her outfit. “I thought that the Alpha guy wanted only me to train.”Bell grinned and clapped her hands together. “I know, but I want to join in too! It’ll be fun, don’t you think?”Her excitement was almost childlike, and I chuckled despite myself. “Yeah, sure, why not?”As we approached the gym, the sounds from within grew louder—thuds of punches landing on heavy bags, the squeak of shoes against the floor, and shouts of exertion. My heartbeat quickened with a strange mix of anticipation and dread. When we finally push

  • Beyond and Wild   Chapter 13

Aderyn PovThe sun was setting, casting long shadows across the room as I stood by the window, letting the cool breeze wash over me. The air felt refreshing against the sheen of sweat on my forehead, a small comfort after the intense practice session I’d just completed.Panting lightly, I glanced down at the chaos I’d wrought—a sandbag, now reduced to a tattered mess, lay scattered on the floor. It wasn’t the first time I’d had to clean up after myself, but the sight never failed to remind me of why I needed a bigger space for my training.I slipped off my gloves and glanced around, mentally preparing myself for the tedious cleanup. I meticulously gathered the remnants of the sandbag, folding the battered fabric and stuffing it into a bag. The mess was a testament to the frustration I felt with my confined practice area. I was hungry and tired, and the thought of cleaning up the sand only added to my growing annoyance. After several minutes of scrubbing and tidying, the room looked pr
