Scarlett's pov

We arrived at the dungeons before I could tell him anything so we decided to delay the 'talk' and went towards the cells. My dad and two other warriors were already there. In one of the cells one rogue was seated on a chair, his hands cuffed using silver shackles while the other rogue was watching the torture in the adjacent cell. The only piece of thing that covered their nudity was the inefficient piece of cloth tied on their waist.

The crook was apparently beaten up. His hair dishevelled and his lips split. There were bruises on his skin which were gradually disappearing right before our eyes. It wasn't surprising. Werewolves were able to heal themselves pretty quickly and rogues were not an exception.

The gate was unlocked so we stepped inside. I studied the captive's face, trying to jog my memory. Despite his weary appearance, he looked familiar. I was sure that I had seen that freckled face somewhere. I kept wondering if he was in any way related to Michael beca

Scarlett's povI was fuming. Dad didn't only let him take James away, but also recommended that I go out with him. And of course, being his annoying self, he had to tell my father that I had blocked his number. "Scarlett! Why would you block your own mate? How would you feel if I blocked your mom, or the vice versa? Unblock him now!"Michael was grinning triumphantly when my father scolded me about it. Regardless, I didn't unblock him. I was just done with him. I watched Michael leave with James. He was still shackled, but I didn't trust that jerk even a bit. To me, it was clear that he was planning to cover up the traitor and launch another attack. Perhaps they would be more aggressive in their attacks the next time around.Infuriated, I left the place. At least that proved to me that the attack was Michael's work. He had successfully killed my mom. Heavens knew what he would be after the next time he attacked. One question was left unanswered though. Why was he doing it? Why did

  • Beyond My Mate's Betrayal    A Moment

Scarlett's povDumbfounded, I stared at him for a long time. Iris' voice was clear although she still sounded vulnerable. Mate? Gavin was my mate? Could she have perceived it wrong? How could I have two mates? Yeah, I rejected Michael, and I believed that the bond was broken. Still, was it possible for me to get a second chance mate so soon? That was unheard of.I found it hard to believe but the tingles that erupted where my hand rested on his chest confirmed Iris' statement. Shocked by the strange tingles and by what my wolf uttered, I gingerly grazed his cheek. As soon as our skin touched, similar tingles erupted. they weren't substantial, but still… Was this what Gavin was talking about? I was his mate? My entire body relaxed. I waited for Iris to repeat it, but she didn't utter a word more. She was completely silent. Deepening the creases on my forehead, "mate?" I whispered. His hazel eyes widened. Tightening his grip on my body, he once again claimed my lips. This time, the k

  • Beyond My Mate's Betrayal    Trust Me

Gavin's povSo that was why she read about the rebirth of a wolf. If she had really gone through all of that, it couldn't be a myth. She avoided my face the entire time she spoke but when she finally did look into my eyes, she went speechless. Her eyebrows knitted together and uncertainty filled her beautiful blue grey eyes. "Gavin. You've got to trust me… please." She whispered, pleading with her eyes. I scanned her face. Why wouldn't I trust her? She didn't have any motive to lie. I smiled and nodded my head. She seemed to be so concerned that I wouldn't believe her. "Of course I trust you. I know it sounds crazy, but it complies with the sudden changes I've been noticing," I told her. "You're my mate. If I can't trust my own soulmate, what am I doing?" She visibly relaxed and breathed out in relief. "Great. That's a relief." My smile faltered nonetheless. If what she told me was true, it meant that Michael was preparing something nasty. If he was getting ready to massacre this

  • Beyond My Mate's Betrayal    Troubled Conversation

Scarlett's pov-It is going to be fine, babe. Call me when you're done speaking to him. I'll be there.A little smile curled on my lips as I read a message from Gavin. He was so charming. If only I was mated to him from the beginning… I quickly finished my food, rushed towards my father's office, and knocked on the door. "Come in," he said. I heaved a breath, hoping that my erratic heart would calm down a bit. "Iris, be with me, girl," I whispered under my breath and opened the door. "Dad, you said that you wanted to talk," I told him. He looked up from the papers he was working on and nodded his head. "Yes. We do need to talk, don't we? Sit down, Scarlett." Trying my best to hide my apprehension, I closed the door behind me and sat down. He closed the files and placed both arms on the desk. Leaning forward against it, he looked at me like he was trying to read me. His face was contorted into a deep frown and I knew that I wasn't going to like this conversation at all."Okay, s

  • Beyond My Mate's Betrayal    Are you sure ?

Gavin's povThis woman was full of surprises. Did I want to mate with her?Hell yes!Was I in pain? Not really. At least not yet. Unsure of what to say, I shifted my weight on my feet and stared at her, dumbfounded. She was hurt. I could tell that much from her face. Fresh tear stains were evident on her face. Her eyes were puffy and red. She sniffled and hugged herself. It was then I saw that her fingers were trembling. My lips parted as I took a step forward. Akela whimpered in my mind after seeing the state of our mate. Her pain was deep. If only I could share her agony. Since we weren't mated, it wasn't possible. To share the misery, we needed to be mated and marked. "What happened, mate? Why are you asking that?" I asked her as gently as I could. She wiped her nose with the back of her hand and inhaled a shaky breath. "Dad said something along the lines 'Michael cheated on me that night because I pushed him away'. He said that he might be in pain, or something like that. So si

  • Beyond My Mate's Betrayal    Just do it

Scarlett's pov Couldn't he see that I was just as aroused as he was? I was literally soaking wet in between my legs. I knew what I wanted. No, actually, scratch that. I needed it. I remembered what I experienced with Michael in my past life. Besides, I've heard and read enough about sex to know what to expect. I unclasped my bra and threw it onto the floor, revealing my breasts. They weren't big like those of porn stars. Nonetheless, I was pleased with my B-cup. He went rigid at the sight. I pressed them against his bare chest. I wasn't expecting a sudden shiver to run down my spine as our bodies made contact. My breathing hitched, but still, I stroked my fingers over his firm chest muscles and shoulders, until they brushed over his marking spot. He hissed. The brief change in the colour of his eyes didn't go unnoticed by me. I knew that Akela most probably was on the edge and that was exactly what I wanted. I wanted him to ravish me as he meant it. Slowly, I leaned forward

  • Beyond My Mate's Betrayal    Envy

Scarlett's povShit, she could smell his scent! Mortified, I wondered if his fragrance was still lingering on my body even after I showered. After all, we had mated. However, I noticed that her gaze was scouring my room as though she was looking for something. I analysed the situation. Did that mean she couldn't detect his scent from my body?If so, that was a relief."No. Why do you say that?" I masked my apprehension and glimpsed into my room. The clothes I was wearing the night before were still on the floor. I cringed. I had forgotten to put it in the laundry bin as I was in a rush. Reckoning that the fragrance was coming from it, I started to think of a way to change the topic."I don't know…" her frown deepened. "Don't you smell that?" I sniffed the air. When his alluring scent hit my nostrils, Iris sighed in my head. Still, I managed to maintain a poker face, which I was glad I managed to pull off. "Maybe I just need to clean the room. I'll ask an omega to help," I mumbled un

  • Beyond My Mate's Betrayal    Not a Traitor

Gavin's povShe wouldn't betray me. She just wouldn't. I knew it. Cheating wasn't her character. If she didn't like it, she would make it known. I knew that there must be some hidden reason for her to agree to go to Sapphire Moon. Nonetheless, it hurt like crazy. Akela wouldn't stop howling painfully in my head. Our mate was the only one in our lives and hearing that she would meet her ex-mate was agonising. Moreover, I would have to accompany her on that trip. I didn't know how I was going to deal with it. I just hoped that Akela wouldn't break free and do something stupid. I forced myself to complete my duties and dragged myself back home when the day ended. I hated the feeling I had. I felt like I was about to lose everything all over again. After losing my entire family to our enemies, I thought my life was finally taking a step towards happiness. The night I spent with her was the best in my adult life. Ever since I accepted her father as my new alpha, I had been living my lif

  • Beyond My Mate's Betrayal    Epilogue

Scarlett's pov Edith's incarceration wasn't much of a hassle. She was found guilty of accepting bribery, treason, and attempted murder. After learning about her treachery, we made it a priority to survey all the omegas we had employed in the packhouse in addition to checking the activities of the warriors. Although Michael was gone and the stormy clouds hanging over us had subsided, we didn't want to have any traitors working with us. It didn't take much time for the injured warriors to heal and rejoin the army. As for me, the wound on my forehead healed in no time. However, Gavin didn't take it easy until the doctors ruled out any health issues. After a thorough investigation, it was determined that I was out of danger. The silver's poison hadn't percolated into my bloodstream, thanks to the rapid medical attention I received.Since we merged the packs we had a lot of work pending. Thomas, Kylan, and the warriors were eager to help in the work. We had to re-evaluate the perimeters

  • Beyond My Mate's Betrayal    Success

Gavin's pov It all happened so fast. When I realised what Michael had done, I felt as though my world had just come to an end. "Star!" I screamed, kneeling beside her. The silver dagger smashed her head and blood was pooling beneath her. Her eyes were closed and there were no signs of life in her. I cast an angry glance at the worst enemy I possibly would ever face. He was trying to flee after throwing the dagger. "Let me at him! Let me taste his blood!" Akela's growls resounded in my head and this time, I didn't try to stop him. The transformation to my wolf was swift and effortless. Growing and snarling in fury, Akela raced towards Michael who had rushed past the guards who were trying to apprehend him. By the time he attempted to shift, it was too late. Akela had already caught up to him and sunk his teeth into his right leg. Michael let out a mighty roar but we couldn't care less. Akela tore off a huge chunk from his thigh, forcing him to give in. The blood spilled out of hi

Scarlett's pov Fabian seemed to try and avoid the crowd as we rushed towards the staircase. He sniffed the air as he led me down the deserted passageway. I also sniffed the air, hoping to catch a whiff of any familiar scents. As we sprinted down the stairs, I caught a whiff of his aura. A smile instantly curled on my lips. I knew it. He was around. My heart yearned to search for my mate, but Fabian kept leading me away from him. Besides, I didn't want to let Michael escape. I wanted to finish this once and for all. If he ever got the chance to flee, I was sure that we would have to deal with him again. And I was done with him. I wanted nothing more than to end this for good. "Where are we going?" I asked Fabian, who appeared to be sprinting for his life. "The woods," he mumbled as we reached the ground floor. I sucked in a breath. The entire place was chaotic. Some Sapphire Mooners were battling a losing war against the wolves who had invaded their territory. Among them were we

  • Beyond My Mate's Betrayal    Bound

Scarlett's pov The headache was just as awful as it had been before, but this time, when I awoke, I quickly realised that I was bound. My eyes scanned the space. I was still in Michael's room only this time I wasn't able to move around. I remembered causing havoc in the room, yet everything appeared to be in its place. Michael must have had his omegas clean the place up. I groaned and made an effort to move, but I was only able to slightly move my head because of the restraints. I tried to move my wrists. Something cold and hard was pressing into them. Frowning, I tried to decipher what it was. Upon glancing at them, I realised that I was cuffed to his bed. Pursing my lips together, I tugged at them. Nonetheless, my attempts to move my limbs were useless. At least I wasn't shackled with silver chains. Ignoring the searing pain in my head, I tugged at the restraints. I wanted to break free. Regardless, I froze when I heard a deep sigh. My stomach dropped out of my chest. I wasn't

Gavin's pov "Of course, I will help! Fabian will lead a squadron of combatants from Garnet Cave. They will arrive at your pack by sunset. I'll give you my word.""Thank you, Alpha. I will forever be grateful for your assistance," I replied on the phone."Michael has gone too far. Kidnapping her means war, Gavin. She is beloved by all of us. I can't believe that he is my son's close friend," he sighed. "Maybe you should talk to him about it. Scarlett told you, remember?" I suggested. "Yeah, she did. I will talk to him. Michael isn't the kind of person I want him to hang out with. I plan to send my son as the commander of the squadron from my pack because, after this, he will be officiated as the new alpha of Garnet Cave." "I'm sure he'll do great. Now please excuse me. I need to check on the preparations for war," I said. "Of course, alpha Gavin. I'm off to dispatch the reinforcement from Garnet Cave." A smile curled on my lips as I ended the call. Garnet Cave was the last pack I

  • Beyond My Mate's Betrayal    Not Yours Anymore

Scarlett’s pov My head felt like it was about to burst open. The splitting headache didn’t ease regardless of how much time I had spent trying to relax. Quite some time had passed since I had woken up from my sleep. Ever since I woke up, my head had been pounding. Wincing in pain, I shifted. Why wouldn’t the agony cease? “Iris?” I called for my wolf, but it seemed to be that she too was still drowsy. All I received in response was a little groan. Hopefully, she too was gradually waking up. I massaged my forehead in an attempt to ease the distress. It helped a little. But I couldn’t think of a reason for such a severe headache. While I lay on my back, I tried to recall the last place I had been. I remembered being officiated as the luna of Crimson Crescent, while Gavin became the new alpha. I sighed at the remembrance of my beloved mate. I sure hoped that he was around. I could really use the warmth of our bond to heal the pain in my head. My eyebrows knitted together when I recal

  • Beyond My Mate's Betrayal    Bad News

Gavin's pov I was determined to end his pathetic life. I was almost successful when hell broke loose. I was sure that the warriors would do their best to suppress the enemies. I didn't doubt my mate's abilities to protect herself, yet, my heart's desire was to protect her myself. She was my mate, after all. However, looking for her was impossible with Michael following me like a maniac. Heck, I also wanted to end this once and for all so I fought with all my might. Soldiers from both packs rushed to assist us. The challenge was ruined and had turned into a full blown war. I realised that Michael had his claws elongated when he attempted to slash them through my torso. Thankfully, Akela was able to assist me in dodging that blow just in time. I also extended my claws and channelled Akela's strength. Soon enough, we were both doused in our blood. Our power to heal instantly was a massive advantage to us. Healing the minor injuries wasn't a problem. Besides, I wasn't going to give u

Scarlett's pov Someone had ratted our plans out to Michael. Even with Georgette in lockup and Bert dead, Michael found out about our plans to attack and stationed his army outside his perimeter to meet us, which meant that he had more people working for him in our pack. I hated the fact that we didn't have a clue about who it could be, but it wasn't the time to ponder over that. We had arrived to fight, and this time I was determined to end this for good. "So the Crimson Crescent has a new leader," he smirked, as though he was jeering at us. "It was a pity that Peter was killed by his own beta." I glared at him. Of course, he would try to taunt us. Bert had worked for him after all. He must have found great pleasure in watching us trust our greatest betrayer the entire time. I sneered. I knew that he was just trying to get on our nerves. “There are more traitors in our pack. Apparently, someone has informed you about our arrival.” His unwavering grin was irritating me, noneth

Michael's pov "Yeah. You better prepare for war. Scarlett is hell bent on avenging her parents' death. She kind of blames it on you." "You're lying," I hissed. "Why would I lie to you? Besides, you have already paid me for this, so I believe that you have earned the truth. Now choosing to believe it or not is going to be your choice. I don't care. I have got what I want," her response was firm. "Oh, and by the way, I managed to click a picture of the soldiers gathering at the packhouse. I don't know what war preparation looks like if this isn't it." "Send it," I demanded. The call ended and within minutes, I received a photo message from her. It was a picture of the warrior's quarters. So agent 2 was more than just any omega. She had access to the warrior's quarters. I guess she wasn't a waste of money after all. The soldiers appeared to be in a rush. A door was opened from which they were taking various kinds of weapons. Their countenances displayed unwavering determinat
