Chapter Twenty Eight

Sinjin pulled to a stop in front of the apartment building, turned off the ignition, and looked at Eds. He still couldn't believe she had agreed to marry him. Although he wanted to kiss her, he resisted the urge to do that. He had to remember that he had assured her there was no need for an intimate relationship in their marriage, so kissing her was not an option.

He was glad he hadn't married Mallucia, because he wouldn't have met Eds and her sons. Mallucia would definitely have continued seeing Lucas behind his back, and the divorce would have been nasty.

"I'll pick you up tomorrow so we can go shopping for your ring," he said. "What time should I get here?"

"Um... Anytime. It's Saturday after all. My shift starts at noon," she answered.

"Okay. I'll be here at nine," he said.

"I'll be ready," she smiled.

He unfastened his seatbelt, exited the car, came around to open her door, helped her out, and shut the door.

"I had a lovely time with you," he said.

"Me too." she smiled.
