“We need to get out so Williams can park the car. We’re holding up the line,” Edselyn said.

“I can’t believe I let you talk me into coming here,” Sinjin muttered with a frown. “I have a bad feeling about this.”

“Are you worried about me?” Eds asked with a smile. “That’s so sweet of you.”

“Well, you and... me,” Sinjin admitted. “I just can’t shake it.”

“Nothing will happen to us. This is your house, and there are security guards everywhere. It’s not like we’re going to meet the president or something,” Eds chuckled softly. “We’ll be fine.”

“My mother put you up to this, didn’t she?” Sinjin grumbled. “Let me guess... she apologized and played the ‘nice woman’ card, right?”

“She didn’t have to. She’s your mother, and it would look strange if you didn’t show up. People might think it’s because of what happened to me at your father’s party,” Eds reasoned. “If you don’t want to stay long, one hour is enough. Your mom even said so.”

“I don’t trust her,” Sinjin muttered as he opened the door,
