I realized I wasn’t wearing any panties. That was my punishment? The shock barely had time to register before it was consumed by a slow, burning heat.

He pinched my chin, tilted my head back, and captured my lips once more—utterly in control.

‘Goodness.’

My mind drifted, lost in the intoxicating haze of him. When his lips trailed down to my neck, his hand followed, cupping my breast, kneading, setting me ablaze.

I want him. I crave his touch everywhere.

Every ounce of restraint, every lingering doubt about right or wrong, dissolved into nothing.

I wanted him.

I wanted him to take me.

The sound of lace tearing filled the air, an astonishment rippling through me. Maximus easily breaks the expensive fabric to satisfy himself. And then, his tongue glided downward to one of my nipples as he eyed me with intention. I trembled uncontrollably.

My body bore the evidence of our wedding night—a constellation of bite marks, crimson bruises from passionate kisses, and darkened patches across my skin. Maximus Ferrero had claimed me as his, leaving his mark in many ways.Every inch of me ached. I felt like a lifeless zombie, sprawled on my stomach as I hugged a thick pillow for comfort.Damn it! So, this was the punishment he mentioned last night. The door opened quietly as Maximus entered carrying a tray laden with food. He placed it carefully on the bedside table before sitting beside me, his fingers gently threading through my hair in a surprisingly tender gesture.“Are you alright?”I mustered what little energy I had to look up at him, my eyes conveying the reproach my weakened body could not express.“I can’t feel my body...” I muttered.W

“How do you feel about that?” Royal asked when she noticed my silence after learning about Stella. “I don’t know, Roy. Honestly, I don’t know what to feel,” I said. “I can’t say I’m happy or sad. Kyros has been part of my life for years, and that wasn’t just some casual relationship. I shared my youth with him—almost every chapter of my life had him in it.” Memories of my seven-year relationship with Kyros resurfaced, playing in my mind like an old film. “He was there when I opened my acceptance letter to medical school or when I passed my exams, believing in me even when I didn’t believe in myself. He was there when Cristina betrayed me and when my mother passed. Kyros supported me even when I had decided to step away from the public eye.” I exhaled deeply. “But were those moments enough to make me regret our relationship? Enough to forgive what he did?” I shook my head. “That’s why I’m not sure. But you know what? But I feel a quiet pride that I found the strength to walk a

“Why?” Curiosity stirred inside me. “Because I’m jealous,” he replied.“You weren’t jealous of Kyros before.” My words were a statement, not a question. I clung to him tighter. Maximus was my husband now, and I was desperate to accept this new life I’d already embraced. The driver’s face flushed crimson as he entered the car, clearly embarrassed by our intimate position in the backseat. Despite his discomfort, he raised the partition to give us privacy and focused on the road ahead. Maximus’s gaze softened, and the back of his hand brushed against my cheek with surprising tenderness. “You have no idea how jealous I was back then,” he murmured, his breath warm against my ear. “I could have taken you somewhere and locked you away from everyone else.” My palm slid along his neck, tracing the strong line of his jaw. Something must be wrong with me. Instead of feeling afraid, I felt a thrill of intrigue.Maximus had this inexplicable power over me; this magnetic pull made me crave wh

Maximus The vehicle had barely traveled a single block when an unsettling awareness crept over me. Glancing down, I spotted Gazelle’s phone lying on the car floor; she must have dropped it during her hasty departure. “Turn back to the hospital,” I instructed the driver, holding up her phone. “Your Ma’am left this behind in the vehicle.” “Right away, Sir!” he replied. The bodyguard in the front used his radio to inform the security team in the car behind us about our change of route. I leaned back against the leather seat, trying to stay calm. I often sent Gazelle messages on a whim; sometimes to silence the dream that haunted my thoughts. But now, I just wanted to see her, to inhale her distinctive scent. It hadn’t even been an hour, yet my chest ached with an unbearable craving—a consuming need that demanded her presence. I closed my eyes, surrendering momentarily to mental images of her… the way her voice melted into a sensual whisper when she called my name... her kiss... he

Gazelle The sharp pain in my head intensified as I regained consciousness, causing me to wince involuntarily. A nurse appeared beside me, her worried face coming into view as she gently pressed an ice pack against my aching temple. “Dr. Sinclair! Finally, you’re awake!” she exclaimed. Memories flickered back… the hospital, Maximus bringing me here… and that man—my patient’s relative—who had lashed out. He grabbed me, and then… everything went dark. The nurse continued anxiously, “Dr. Sinclair, we were so worried. If you hadn’t regained consciousness, we don’t know what to do… President Ferrero was terrifying; he wasn’t himself earlier. Dr. Castillo had to force him to get treated for his injuries.” ‘Wait…’ Confusion clouded my thoughts. Injuries? Maximus not in his right mind? None of this made sense. “W-what happened?” I asked. The doctor who had examined me recounted the earlier commotion in the hallway. But what shocked me most was hearing about Maximus’s arrival, and ho

Maximus and I were separated for questioning. A female inspector spoke to me while another questioned Maximus. “Mr. Beckett claims there was an issue with the diagnostic tests and ultrasound,” the investigator explained. “He says you followed the wrong procedure and forced Lucy Beckett to terminate the pregnancy because you had no intention of treating the baby.” I frowned. “She was already bleeding when she arrived at the hospital,” I explained. “Her legs were covered in shards of glass. When questioned about it, she stated it was personal, so we respected her privacy and didn’t press further.” “She’s bleeding? And he believes this is some unpracticed medical expertise on your part?” the inspector questioned. “Inspector, I’m a physician. My responsibility is to ensure the safety of both mother and child during delivery. Do you honestly believe I would welcome a patient’s decision to terminate her pregnancy? We tried to convince her because there were risks and potential comp

On top of the couple’s situation, the unexpected news from the chief resident shattered my day. “Dr. Sinclair, I’m sorry… Because of what happened earlier and the patient’s complaint, you’ll be temporarily removed from emergency rotations and C-section procedures,” the chief explained, her expression sympathetic but firm. “What? Chief, this doesn’t make sense! Why should my patients and I face the consequences when I’m the victim here? You know that, right?” She placed a reassuring hand on my shoulder. “I understand completely, but the hospital administration has protocols to follow. The legal team is already gathering evidence to support your case. Remember, this isn’t a suspension—you’ll continue with your follow-up appointments and consultations. We’re just keeping you from surgical scenarios that might complicate the situation for you and the hospital. Just take it easy, Gazelle.” The chief had been my mother’s friend, a mother figure to me since my mom passed away. “Thank

Maximus Seven years ago... I was at the gym with Dante, sparring intensely, when Ivan Voltaire arrived. His presence at this hour was unusual—as far as I knew, he despised early mornings passionately. “Too early for you?” Dante taunted as I delivered a sharp punch to the pad on his palm. “I haven’t slept yet. The Sinclair girl’s been missing for three days now. I even traveled up north to see if my family’s business partners had anything to do with it. Dr. Sinclair is desperate to find her daughter. One of my relatives was her patient, so they turned to us specifically.” “Dr. Sinclair?” My punches faltered as recognition dawned. Dr. Sinclair was my mom’s therapist, which immediately heightened my interest. “Yes, the Chief Director of Psychiatry at Bryston Hospital.” Ivan pulled out his phone and displayed a photograph. “Here’s her photo.” The girl in the image captivated me instantly. She had piercing blue eyes that seemed to hold both innocence and intelligence. Her wavy hair

The small hospital Gianna and I visited served expectant mothers. We guide them through their pregnancies, providing education on self-care and baby care to ensure their health. I was particularly aware of one woman who entered late, her large belly preceding her quiet presence. She sat silently, listening to the discussion, but her expression hinted at a mind preoccupied with other thoughts. Later, my colleagues and I distributed small tokens to the expectant mothers: booklets, checklists, and a few essentials for the upcoming labor. The first day ended uneventfully, and the second day went much the same. Seeking a break on the third day, I went to the garden. Gianna gave me some space, letting me sit alone on a bench. While there, I was surprised to find the usually quiet woman in a heated argument with another. “Let’s be clear. This baby is mine, always has been. Your inability to conceive is why you were chosen to carry my and Nico’s child! None of this was ever yours! Afte

I felt so free; my back arched as I moved gracefully on the bed, grinding beneath the steady rhythm of Maximus’ hard length, thrusting in and out of me. My backside met his thighs with every deep stroke as he took me from behind. I whimpered in pure bliss; my mind clouded, lost in the overwhelming pleasure that only Maximus could give. He’s playing with my body, igniting the places where pleasure flows. My hips swayed as my back leaned against Maximus, our eyes locking in the clear mirror. His mouth traced a path from my ear to my shoulder, tasting and teasing me with every brush of his lips. He knew every switch to flip, every spot to press—exactly where I ached for him to claim me… His hand curled around my neck as if claiming possession, and he whispered to me. A mysterious pleasure wrapped around me, rising from deep in my core. I could feel it—he wanted to conquer me. “Gazelle, you must always remember me no matter where you go. I will never forget the way you look right no

Mr. Laurent seemed to notice the judgmental stares some guests were casting their way. Miranda turned and pointed at Stella, who was walking toward us, ready to shift the blame onto the woman. “It was you!” she snapped. “You told me President Ferrero agreed to give me his sample! How did it end up like this? You tricked me!” Stella froze, visibly shocked. She even clutched her chest as if physically struck by the accusation. “Miranda, I didn’t do anything. We ran into each other at the hospital and made small talk. You were the one who told me why you were there. You asked for advice, that’s all.” Miranda faltered, visibly thrown off, her eyes darting back and forth as if searching for something solid to hold on to. For a moment, I genuinely believed Stella. But Miranda wasn’t done. “I asked for your help after that. You told me you’d help me.” “I didn’t!” Stella denied. “You helped me determine where Maximus’s samples were in the sperm bank! I’m not making this up!” Miran

Mr. Laurent asked for Miranda’s presence near us.The air was thick with anticipation, each second stretching uncomfortably. Mrs. Laurent’s face flushed with anger as I confronted her, but I didn’t waver. My gaze stayed fixed on Miranda. She shifted uneasily, the tension visibly crawling up her spine. Her polished façade was beginning to crack.

I stood still, speechless, as Mrs. Laurent’s words echoed in my head. I couldn’t give her the reaction she was looking for. “What does Mrs. Laurent mean that I don’t want complications in my life?” Whispers spread through the crowd like a breeze rustling autumn leaves. I caught Maximus’s eye and gave him a look that told him to stay back. He stopped, letting me handle the confrontation, though his fists clenched at his sides. “Madam, don’t you think you might be overstepping?” Royal’s voice carried a subtle warning as she positioned herself beside me. “Oh, come now, Ms. Roy. I’m only pointing out the obvious. Her family has already disowned Dr. Sinclair. I spoke to Chairman Sinclair myself; he told me he couldn’t control his daughter.” I didn’t know how close my father was to her, but what she revealed wasn’t exactly confidential. Since Mom’s death, my father has had a hard time controlling my decisions. People always assumed the Sinclair family cut me off, especially since I rar

The four men exhibited distinctly different reactions. Maximus maintained his nonchalant demeanor, Dante’s face registered confusion, while Ivan and Luca gaped in undisguised disbelief. After a moment of shared bewilderment, they all just shrugged and continued walking into the venue. Miranda approached them with a bright smile. “President Ferrero, you’ve finally arrived. Thank you so much for accepting my invitation.” Maximus gave a curt nod, clearly unaware of what she was talking about. Miranda scratched her head, visibly embarrassed. But before she could say more, Maximus and Dante walked right past her. “Wait!” she called after them, hurrying to catch up. “Geez,” Royal muttered beside me, shaking her head. “I thought she had more class than this. I know what this family’s capable of, Gazelle. They probably cooked something up just to corner Maximus.” ‘Hmmm... let’s see... Let’s watch the upcoming good show.’ Miranda quickly stepped before Maximus and Dante again, forcing t

Maximus and I visited the stylist’s villa to prepare for the upcoming gathering. Three gowns in different colors had been laid out for me. I was asked to try them all on in the fitting room, but apparently, Maximus had a weakness for me in stunning dresses. The moment I stepped out in the first gown, he didn’t waste a second—he tore it right off. He took me, pleased me, and pushed me to the very edge of my sanity. Remarkably, when I tried on the second gown, history repeated itself. “Ah, I don’t know what to do with you…” I muttered, shaking my head, my cheeks still warm with embarrassment from what had just happened. Perhaps I should’ve gone with The Pink Girls Code. Maximus and I were just... hopeless when left alone together. He swept me into his arms with effortless ease, his lips capturing mine in a kiss that was both tender and hungry. As he pulled back, he buried his face in the curve of my neck, breathing me in. “What am I supposed to do?” he whispered. “The moment I see

Perhaps Mr. Harrington had already anticipated how the board would react—that’s likely why he brought Maximus along when they met at the hospital. “Gentlemen,” I began, “My father entrusted me with the power to make decisions for this company. That’s why I’m here. He’s recovering, so I’d appreciate it if everyone remained seated. I’m not here to stir conflict—but judging by how this meeting’s been going, it’s clear who’s been disrupting the atmosphere.” I refused to let myself be underestimated—whether for being a doctor, a woman, or the only heir to my parents’ legacy. “Let's proceed," Mr. Harrington announced, attempting to establish order. "First on our agenda—" “I’d like to propose that we begin by discussing the replacement of Ms. Gazelle as acting chairman of this board,” one of the executives interjected coldly. “We don’t know her intentions or if she’s even capable of leading. We need to reconsider her role.” I steadied my breath, fighting the sting of their deliberate ch

Gazelle The way Maximus held me last night calmed all the chaos inside me. He was my darkness, but also my sweetest comfort. Earlier that day, Gianna accompanied me to the Sinclair company, where I also met Mr. Harrington. I reviewed the files and handled everything the chairman’s office needed for the day. I wasn’t perfect—I still had yet to learn so much. Fortunately, Mr. Harrington, the company’s lawyer and general manager, was always ready to guide me and explain what I didn’t understand. Before heading to the conference room, I quickly messaged Dante Castillo. ‘How’s my dad?’ I typed. His reply came shortly after. ‘The chairman is awake. His lungs are still weak, but he’s recovering.’ Relief flooded me as I thanked him, just as Mr. Harrington appeared to escort me to the meeting. Even from the hallway, I could hear voices filtering from the conference room. “Is the chairman here? We have documents that need his signature,” someone asked. As the door opened and I stepp
