Reunion in the hospital

I opened my eyes and an unfamiliar ceiling along with a familiar smell of chlorine made its way to my nose, making me feel weirdly nauseous. I had to blink a few times to get my vision to clear up and then I turned my head around to see where I was.

The room was bathed in soft, muted lighting, casting a warm and inviting glow that made me frown. The air carried a faint scent of antiseptic, a reminder of the sterile environment that surrounded me.

A hospital room?

The centerpiece of the room was a comfortable bed, neatly made with crisp, white linens on which I lay but there was no one else in the room and I felt slight pain shooting up my head as I tried to move it.

Just then I received a text. My phone was right
