terms and conditions

Chapter ten(terms and conditions)

Sapphire's Point Of View:

“I choose…..”. I sighed, rethinking my decision. I couldn't, I just couldn't choose. It was the toughest decision of my life. I swallowed hard as I thought about it.

I didn't know who to choose. Who deserved my trust, just who? How would I know when I basically knew literally nothing about either of them! The only thing that makes a difference is I already had sex with one of them.

“I choose….. Landon.” I breathed out.

I hoped I wouldn't regret my decision later on but I knew Landon and even though I knew he was toxic, it was better to go with him right? Rather than someone I barely knew, someone who was claiming to be the good guy and painting Landon as a bad guy.

Yes, Landon was a bad guy, I could tell. But the devil you know is better than the angel you do not know right?

I knew Landon would be able to protect me and those I care about but I didn't know this man’s capabilities.

And although I knew my love life was at risk, for some reason I was ready to fully take the risk.

Maybe it was because I was one hundred percent assured that Tyler would understand, he was an understanding person.

Landon grabbed me harshly and pulled me to his side, making it clear that we're now bound to each other. Well, again, I hope I don't end up regretting it.

“She chose me, Eric. Now stop trailing her. Keep her out of this, she's no way involved in this.” Landon said to the man.

The man smirked without saying a word.

Landon and I turned to leave. His car was already waiting outside. I got into the car and so he did.

“Rivertons Avenue. Down the road.”I said.

He drove out of the silent street to the road. I fetched my phone and saw several texts from mum.

'Where are you!!! If the groceries are the reason you're taking forever, get home now! I already ordered pizza!’

'Sapphire, are you there!’

'This is why I don't let you stay out late. You keep ignoring my messages.’

'Pick up my calls, Sapphire!’

'Sapphire, where are you? It's 9:05 pm. It's not so late but it's not appropriate.’

'Sapphire, are you reading this?’.

I sighed, turning off the screen of my phone and tossing it into my bag without bothering to reply to her messages.

Do I freaking look like a kid? Twenty three years old, yet I was being treated like a teenager who already broke curfew, by 9pm! I need a break.

She wouldn't let me do things freely, go out when it's late or go to parties if it isn't Tyler's or Tiara's. That was another reason I was doing this contract marriage. Her! I hated being stuck with her and I hated to even think about being stuck with her forever.

“Are you okay?" Landon asked, breaking into my thoughts. I nodded vigorously. “You should arrive early to work tomorrow. I understand you're tired from today's work but you have the schedule and as you can see, we have several meetings early tomorrow.”.

I nodded, looking out of the window, “I got my mind prepared for that despite today's work. I'll make sure to come early.”.

He drove further, silence enveloping the air for minutes.

"Park here, I can go home now myself." I said.

“You don't need me to take you? We’re not even at Riverton yet.” He complained, parking the car.

I unfastened the seatbelt. “Thank you. I'm good here. See you tomorrow.”I replied, getting out of the car.

I soon arrived home after a few minutes' walk. Mum was pacing back and forth the living room, biting her nails nervously.

“Mum." A groan escaped my lips as I dragged myself into the center of the living room.

Her neck jerked to me immediately. She quickly ran to me, rubbing my shoulders firmly as if she was trying to search for something.

“Are you okay? Oh my gosh, Sapphire. You almost killed me. My heart was set ablaze!” She raised her voice.

I shoved her aside before burying myself in the couch.

We both walked into his magnificent living room, placing our bags on the couch. He flashed me a smile before sitting.

“You can sit." He said. I smiled, sitting beside him.

"Your decor is nice.” I complimented. He kept the smile on his face, "Thanks.” He replied.

"That was a long day at work.” I groaned. He groaned back.

"I can't agree more.” He replied.

"Let's get this meeting done so I can return home. It's 6pm and my mum is killing my phone with texts.” I chirped.

He nodded, standing up and moving towards the bar area. He took out two wine glasses and a bottle of alcohol, and poured the liquid equally into each glass.

He brought them back and offered me a glass. I smiled, declining immediately.

“Let's get this meeting done. I wouldn't love us to get drunk and….you know?”.

He smirked, leaning in, "Well that's what I intend on doing. You caught me but then I remembered I can do that without getting you drunk.”.

My brows furrowed. “What are you- what do you mean?".

“It's in the contract terms and conditions that once your signature gets on the papers, both parties are allowed to ask for sex from each other freely and the other party shouldn't starve the requesting party of sex. Didn't you read the terms and conditions?” He asked.

I blinked thrice, unable to speak.

“It seems it's time to open those legs for your fiance.” He whispered coldly.
