intertwined with the CEO

Chapter three(intertwined with the CEO)

Sapphire's Point Of View:

A sharp gasp escaped my lips in shock as mum's voice came from behind.

“What are you doing here?" She asked. I turned immediately, closing the file.

“I- you left your door open…” I stuttered.

"thanks.” She said, I left the room immediately. My phone rang with a notification. I took it out and saw a message from MI AMOR.

I read, 'Hey, Sapphire. You acted a bit off today, are you okay? You can always talk to me. Love you.’.

My heart jumped as I read the content of the text. I took deep breaths before replying, ‘Nothing, babe. Thank you. Love you too.’.

“Oh. My. God! Yes!!" I screamed as I read the email.

'Hello there, we hope this email finds you well. After much consideration and deliberation, we're pleased to announce to you that you successfully secured the job with us. You are to resume work by 8am, March 1st. The location is below:’

My heart skipped a beat at the date. That was today! Crap, I saw the email late. It was only fifteen minutes until 8am.

Without thinking twice, I threw my phone in the bed and went into my walk-in closet, scrambling for an official outfit.

I wore a black skirt and a white shirt. I pulled my hair into a ponytail before grabbing a corporate black bag.

I ran down the stairs with my phone in my hand and my bag in my cubital fossa. Mum was seated in the living room, she raised her gaze to me as I ran down the stairs.

“Hi mum, bye mum." I greeted, rushing through the living room.

“Where are yo-” I slammed the door before she could finish her sentence.

“Taxi!" I shouted, waving at a taxi. I barely waited for it to fully park before I ran into it.

We arrived at an industrial building with a huge logo on top. Here I was, at the headquarters of Lanhard Luxe, the most selling sneaker brand in America.

I didn't have enough time to admire how elegant the building was, so I ran inside the building immediately. I was already twenty four minutes late!

“Good morning." The reception greeted me with a smile on her face.

“Good morning. I am the newly hired personal assistant and I was asked to resume at 8am.” I said.

She looked into the monitor in front of her before looking back at my face as if she was trying to point out something, "Oh, name?” She inquired.

"Sapphire Sage.” I replied.

"Oh. I thought as much. You look nothing like the hired personal assistant here. So ... .there was an error and the email was accidentally sent to you, we're sorry and we understand it might be heartbreaking but it's a fault.” She replied, making the smile on my face melt away.

“What do you mean there was a fault? I can show you right here!” I frowned.

"Check your email, we emailed to you that it was an error right after the discovery.”.

I went to my email and I immediately saw it, 'We are sorry to announce to you that it was an error, you are not the chosen person.’.

“So you mean this is a total waste of time and I am not actually hired?" I asked.

“We are deeply sorry!” She apologized.

I nodded, biting my lip as I placed a hand on a countertop and looked away. For some reason, I didn't want to leave immediately. I mean who would want to after such intense excitement, and it was just crushed.

Someone walked in through the door.

“Good morning, sir." The lady greeted him. The man was dressed in a black suit with white inner and black trousers. He had black shades on to match with his perfect black hair.

He smiled at the lady, “Good morning. Has my new personal assistant resumed yet?” He asked.

She nodded, “Yes, sir. She's on the fourth floor waiting for you to arrive.” She replied.

His gaze traveled to me, I flashed him a smile. He stared at me longer than he was supposed to. My smile began to shake as I averted his eyes.

He took off his shades, casting out his blue eyes that caught my attention. My mouth was left hanging in the air when I noticed the scar by his eyes. He was……the man I had a night stand with!

He broke our eye contact, turning to the lady immediately. “Sonia, why is she here?" He asked.

She stuttered, "I'm so sorry, sir. I ju-just….she came for the job also. There was an issue where we accidentally emailed that she got the job meanwhile she didn't get the job. It was a mistake. She's just about to leave whe-”.

He cut her off, “Dismiss the one waiting on the fourth floor.” He ordered. He then turned to me, "You're hired!”.

A gasp escaped my lips, "Really, sir?!”.

"Yes. You are.” He mumbled.

"B-but sir, she didn't pass the review. Sh-”.

He raised his hand, and she immediately stopped talking. He threw her a stare that I couldn't decipher, he then turned to leave. I followed behind him with my bag in my hand.

We got into the elevator, yet didn't say anything to each other. After arriving on the fourth floor, we went to his office after ignoring everyone greeting him. I personally didn't want to ignore them but since he did, I decided to.

He dismissed the lady who was sitting at the front of the office. She begged him but her pleas didn't seem to move a strand of his hair. I personally felt sorry for her, but then I remembered it was either her or me!

He sat and I stood across the table. “Can I get the schedule book, sir?".

A smirk crawled on his face, his blue eyes pinning me again the same way they did a few days ago. My heart ran wild, my grasp tightening on my bag as I tried looking away but I couldn't for some reason. We were intertwined.
