16. Incidental Meeting

Aileen smiled at each of her colleagues who had entered the room and those who had just arrived. She noticed that most of them frowned when they saw that Mark occupied the main seat at the end of the long table where the meeting leader sat.

Aileen realized that they must all be wondering why Mark, known only as a new employee in the marketing department, was sitting in the front chair. And she couldn't wait to see their immediate reactions to what Mark had to say next.

"It's done." Aileen gave Mark the code when she saw that every seat in the room had been filled except for a few that were supposed to be hers, Laura's, and Mr. Vince's.

She immediately realized that Mr. Vince must also be one of her henchmen. He had been suspicious of the accounting manager's closeness to William lately. They often discussed things together, plus Laura, in a particular room.
