James’ pov “Hm, you sound kind of obsessed.” She breathed out with a small giggle and I rolled my eyes, feeling my chest well up with so many emotions at once as I pulled her forward until her head was resting on my shoulder, and my arm around her waist. I breathed in a deep breath before speaking softly. “Yeah, perhaps you’re right, maybe I really am obsessed.” Blake giggled once again, moving against me in a way that made my blood stir.“You don’t sound sure.” She pointed out and I pulled her away from the embrace until she was staring into my face once again.“I am obsessed.” I murmured, all traces of unseriousness wiped off my face. She blinked a few times before reaching out and wrapping her palm against my cheeks.“Well, that makes two of us,” She declared with a small eyeroll and I let out a fond huff as I pulled her into my arms once again, rolling around until we rolled off the couch to the ground.“You’re heavy.” She whined and shoved me off her with a fake scowl,
James’ pov “What? Of course not.” I argued.“Why then did you still refuse to mention it?” She shut back, looking genuinely hurt.“It was because… because…”“You can’t even come up with any actual explanation.” She pointed out and I let out a long sigh, while wishing we aren’t having this right now.The dinner has been going so damn smoothly between us, only for her to bring up this topic from nowhere. I knew me asking her to put it aside for later would be unfair of me, and so I let out another sigh.I had actually already been contemplating on how to table it to her, I had just been very unsure of how to go about it.“I didn't want to scare you off.” I finally admitted, watching as she narrowed her eyes at me while scoffing.“You know I’m a grown ass woman, right? What could scare me off more than me figuring out shit like this on my own, huh?” She shot back, and the hurt was stack obvious on her face, it made me wince a little while looking for anything which I could use
Sofia’s pov I was currently dusting my shoes in our walk in closet when Luca emerged in the doorway. He leaned against it with his hands deep in his pockets as he commented on how he hated that I have to stress to do something as simple as dusting my own shoes. “Are you sure you really do not want us to hire another househelp?” Luca wondered as he walked towards me and I rolled my eyes as I halted for a moment.Luca has suggested we hire another househelp a handful of times, and each time he brings it up, I’m always quick to refuse the suggestion, because I don’t think I’d be comfortable with a complete stranger coming into our house just yet.And a huge part of me still misses Sarah and still hopes she’d recover completely and be able to resume back here, but I knew that was most likely nothing but wistful thoughts.“I am. It's no big deal for me to do something as simple as this.” I reminded him as I waved the brush I was working on, for emphasis. The slight movement made dus
Sofia’s pov “Hyacinth…?” The name spilled past my lips before I could stop it and without glancing sideways at Luca, I felt how he threw me a look. Surprise filled James face at once, but as expected, recognizable dawned on James’ guest face.“I mean princess Hyacinth.” I hastily corrected myself while silently berating myself for the error of addressing her without her required title. A bashful look crossed her face as she shook her head while taking a step forward.“Oh no, that’s not necessary. And, it’s no longer ‘Hyacinth’, now it’s just Blair.” She responded in a voice that had matured from how it remembered how it sounded the last time I heard it.Her usual signature long hair is now chopped off to shoulder length, and even though that sort of gave her a new look, I’d still be able to recognize her face anywhere, which is probably because I still hold the encounter I had with her in the past till date.—- I was fifteen then.We had all been invited to the queen’s b
Sofia’s pov The sudden urge to visit the beach once again has definitely got to because of my birthday which had happened a few weeks ago.I never used to ever think about visiting the beach, having not been allowed to except on rare occasions while growing up, and on those rare occasions, I was hovered on throughout the entire time by my bodyguards.I was currently seated in the hair salon, one of the biggest one here in Italy. As soon as the stylists had recognized who I was, they treated me with utmost respect and all wanted to be friends with me at once, which I found extremely endearing.I’m currently getting my hair done, getting it curled professionally this time, and so far, they’re doing a better job than I had done on my hair a couple of weeks ago.“Do you care for a drink, ma’am? It’s on the house.” One of the stylists came forward and as she spoke, she shook the glass of wine a little.I gave a polite shake of my head as I responded. “Aw, I really wish I could, bu
Sofia’s pov Ryan was the only one who drove me home from the beach tonight.Ethan had to run some errands, so it left Ryan with the job. Ryan definitely didn’t mind, and neither do I.It was already really dark outside, and it felt almost weird to be actually having a conversation with Ryan here in the car, in a place where we’ve never spoken except necessary because Ethan is always present with us no matter what.I liked speaking with Ryan. He’s so intelligent and it’s so interesting and he always has a lot of things to say as soon as he feels comfortable. I found that extremely endearing but there was no way I was letting him know that.“Did you thoroughly enjoy your time spent with your new friend?” He asked, and because he sounded curious, and because I was still currently feeling extremely excited, I proceeded to give him a run down of how it had gone down with him.Ryan listened attentively as I spoke, and it pleased me immensely, prompting me into continuing more and more.By
Sofia’s pov As soon as I collided with a body which made my phone and purse clatter to the ground at once, a gasp left my lips and I instantly glanced up, an apology on my tongue, but then I recognized the face of the woman at once; which made me pull back in surprise.“Lola…?” I called out in surprise and watched as a smile graced her lips, and then she leaned in for a hug, which I returned eagerly.“I’m so sorry for running into you, I wasn’t looking at where I was walking to.” I said in apology while glancing at the ground to confirm that she hadn’t dropped anything.“Oh no, you don’t need to apologize, I understand it, believe me. Everyone gets engrossed in their phones so bad these days.” She responses and I breathed a small chuckle, and speaking of phones, I reached down and retrieved my phone and purse at once.“I didn’t know you were still in the country, I thought you travelled because you know, I didn’t see you around any longer.” I said to her as I walked past her
Sofia’s pov My phone began to vibrate and I let out a long sigh as I reached for it, accepting the call as soon as I realized who it was that was calling. It was Kayla. “Did you forget the schedule we made?” Was the first thing she said as soon as I placed the phone against my ear, prompting me into rolling my eyes while pressing my fingers against the hot surface of my coffee filled cup.“Of course not.” I responded, even though I had definitely forgotten, thanks to my mind being occupied by the sudden encounter I had with Lola yesterday.Kayla whined in my ear, indicating that she wasn’t buying what I had just said right now.We had both agreed to meet up this evening for something important, and I knew pulling out right now is going to be really unfair to her, especially seeing how she was always pulling up for me withou questions whenever I needed her presence and physical appearance for something.“You had better show up here in thirty minutes, and I mean it.” She warned
