Chapter 90: Futile Efforts

LUCAS POV

“I'm really getting tired and frustrated, I feel the universe is trying to punish me for my wrong doings.” I muttered, sighing tiredly as Jack sighed. “Why couldn't I find her? She's really good at hiding but I won't relent, I must __”

“Must do what Lucas? She doesn't want to be found, she doesn't can't you see it?” Jack asked and though I had that at the back of my mind, I refused to believe it. I know she's angry but she'll come back to me, she'll come back home.

“Her parents haven't called, that's alarming.” Jack said as I sighed.

“Must be in contact with my parents and granny, I really don't know how to face them.”

“Any how, you'll have to face them sooner than later.” Just then, my phone rang and my heart began to beat very fast.

“Speak of the devil.” I muttered under my breath.

“Who's it?” Jack asked.

“Her mother, how do I respond? It's __” I trailed off, not knowing what to say. I tapped the green icon and placed the phone on my ear.
