“Sounds fair to me,” Azura shrugs and flashes a smile at him. I sigh in relief when she agrees, I don’t want Nicholas to doubt her which he will if she disagrees but surprisingly, her game skills are up.

“I’m glad to have you on my side. Make sure that you stay loyal to me or the consequences won’t be good for you,” Nicholas threatens her, his voice turning casual to firm.

I’m hiding behind a tree and overhear their conversation. I can’t help but stifle a chuckle at his stupid tactics. Nicholas won’t leave me alone, he wants to play dirty and get me out of the Academy so his path will be clear.

I have followed her when she walked out on me in anger which was justifiable because I was being a dick to her. I should have been kind and empathetic to her but I had to hide my emotions because I couldn’t show her that side of me.

It’s better that she calls me heartless… I don’t want her to expect anything from me and then, be disappointed in me when she sees the monster in me.

AzuraAfter a little workout, they dismiss us but I feel uneasy as two of the officers stare at me skeptically. My heart races when Professor Alex walks toward me with a furious expression imprinted on his face. I turn to leave but he calls out my name, “Elias, wait.” “What does Alex want from you?” Dane mutters, looking at me in worry. We just met on the field and he has been nice to me. He is the Alpha of a neighbor pack of Ryker so I have presumed that he needs a favor from him and since I’m his roommate, he is trying to get close to me to have a chance to talk to Ryker because none of the Alphas would dare to talk to him directly. Everyone knows how cold-hearted and ruthless he is…“I don’t know either.” I try to stay calm as the professor approaches me. “May I have a word with you alone, Alpha Elias?” He asks, making me nervous. Has he found out that I’m Azura, not Elias? My eyes wander to find Ryker but he is nowhere to be seen and that’s when I realize that half of the Alph

Ryker“Are you looking for Elias?” A man asks me as I look around the field where I had last seen Azura. “Hmm,” I nod my head and he flashes me a smile, making me frown. “I’m Dane-” he starts introducing himself but I raise my hand to insinuate for him to shut his fucking mouth as I’m not interested in making any acquaintance with him or anyone else here. Dane swallows hard under my hard gaze which makes me feel like he knows something which isn’t pleasing to me. Has Nicholas again pulled some dirty tricks? I swear, if this time, he doesn’t leave us alone, I’ll make him regret even coming here. “If you know where A…” I bite my tongue, almost taking her real name. I clear my throat before continuing, “Just let me know where he is,” I finish and heave an exasperated sigh. “Yes, sure. Professor Alex wanted to have a word with him alone so they went in that direction,” he says and points to the direction where I head without thanking him. I have a feeling that I should stay away from

Azura“He is my cousin, Ryker. He is the only family I have left. I can’t be selfish enough to leave him alone when I know that he is in danger,” I tell him, removing the damn wig from my head. Perhaps it was the wrong decision to come here in the first place. I should have stayed with Elias in his pack. “Let me remind you if you’re forgetting, he is my friend, too,” Ryker spits icily, standing before me with folded arms and a stone face, his steely gaze fixated on me as he studies my expressions. I know that I’m panicking but I can’t help it. After reading that creepy note and learning about the rogues’ constant attacks on his pack, I can’t just stay here selfishly while he fights for his pack, and what if something happens to him… I’ll never be able to forgive myself. At this moment, nothing matters more than my cousin’s safety and well-being. If those bloody creatures can break into the Academy’s security system and kill an Alpha, it won’t be hard for them to attack Elias. “Yo

Ryker“Can I ask you something, Alpha Ryker?” Ethan asks as I go over the images of the candidate who was found dead on his phone. I have come to his office to know more about the attack that happened in the Academy. Surprisingly, there is no CCTV footage of someone entering the Academy or going out. It’s as if someone appeared from thin air and disappeared in the air again because there was nothing that could be found on the CCTV footage. Ethan asked for the footage when I requested it, wanting to go through everything by myself and make sure that I found something. “Sure,” I reply and zoom on the image of his dead body. How can his body bear the marks of someone attacking him when no one can be seen? His ribs are open and torn, blood spurting out from his heart. Whoever has killed him was a monster, he has killed him brutally, mercilessly. “You know, your Mom and I were best friends, right?” Ethan seeks, looking up at me with a puzzled glance.I ignore the emotions that come for

His words make me feel uneasy, I’m not even sure why I accepted it from him. Is it right to have something which you think belongs solely to you? “Elias isn’t leaving the Academy, you will protect him, right?” He raises his brows, bringing me out of my reverie. I hum and nod my head, taking my leave. I had left Azura in the Mess area and prevented her from getting up from her chair until I returned. No one will attack her in public and the dining area will be the most crowded place. When I reach the Mess Hall, I look where I had left her but she is not there. My heart thunders, anticipating the worst as I scan the dining area but she is nowhere to be seen.My legs trot in Nicholas’s direction before even I can try to think where she might be. Azura“Are you kidding me?” I ask, shaking my head in disbelief. Is he serious? He can’t be, right? My wolf begs me to let him sleep beside us, she is so desperate for this and I feel my throat dry as he stares at me coldly, making me realize that he is adamant about it. “You can’t possibly think of me sleeping with you in one bed, right?” I giggle as he simply folds his hands and glares at me with his cold brown eyes that are missing their warmth. “You’re not assuming that I’ll guard your bed while you take your beauty sleep, huh?” He cocks a brow at me, sighing loudly and I feel his hot breaths caressing my face which had awakened me in the first place. “You can do that, I don’t mind,” I shrug and turn to the other side. “But I do, Azura Riverstone,” he spits in his deep husky voice that makes the swarm of butterflies alive in my stomach. The next thing I feel is my bed dipping as he makes himself comfortable on my bed. I turn to tell him to get off my bed but when I turn my

My hands fly to my mouth when I realize that my hand is lying on his chest, and I’m practically sleeping on him as my head is on his chest. My wolf yelps, enjoying the proximity much to her liking. I immediately get off his chest and run to the bathroom to get ready for today’s schedule. The cold water runs on my naked body as I have stripped out of my clothes. I stare at my hands with a coy smile on my face. I can’t believe my hands were lying on his naked chest a few minutes ago. The foreign feeling of having touched his chest in my sleep is provoking a tingling rush of delight that floods my senses.“Be quick, or the breakfast might get finished before even we reach there,” Ryker’s voice booms, followed by a couple of knocks on the door. After drying myself with the towel, I put my bathrobe on and got out of the bathroom to get ready in my room.“Thank Goddess that you have decided to get ready in the room and not in the bathroo

He doesn’t have to eat with us, and I don’t like sharing the table with him. And Azura loves to get under my skin. Sometimes, I can’t help but feel regret for choosing to help her and even for making her my roommate. I should have chosen a male, but I didn’t want to talk to anyone else, and since men make the place dirty and untidy, which I hate, so I thought that Azura would be a better option.“Line up, boys,” the officer shouts as everyone reaches the ground of the sports area. I know what he is going to do next, so I pull Azura’s hand to keep her next to me, but Dane holds her hand to force her to stand next to him in the fourth row as the boys make four rows, and I’m standing in the first one while they are standing in the second and third, respectively.“Your skin is so soft and smooth,” he states, gawking at her hand in shock. AzuraOne Week Later...The Blue Moon hangs like a glowing beacon in the night sky, casting its luminous glow over the packhouse grounds. Tonight is not just any night—it’s the rarest of nights when magic courses through the air, weaving a mystical tapestry between all who gather under its light. It’s as if fate itself has written this moment, for not only is it my wedding night but also the Blue Moon, a time when the most powerful bonds can be revealed. I pray to the Moon Goddess to give me Ryker as my fated mate, but even if she is up to some game and gives me someone else as my second chance mate, I’m determined to reject him in the blink of an eye. I stand in front of the mirror, barely recognizing the woman reflected there. My wedding gown, a masterpiece of silk and lace, hugs my body like a dream. The bodice is adorned with intricate silver embroidery, weaving the shapes of moons and wolves, while the long, flowing skirt spills around me like water, glistening with the light f

My heart still feels like it’s floating somewhere above my head, ever since last night. The proposal. Ryker. My soon-to-be husband.I smile to myself as I sit at the breakfast table, but the moment I do, I notice something strange—everyone’s looking at me. Elysia’s grinning, Dante’s trying to hold back a smirk, and even Rosie is practically buzzing with excitement.“What?” I ask cautiously, narrowing my eyes at them.Elysia leans over the table, wiggling her eyebrows. “Oh, nothing. Just that your fiancé—" she drags out the word with extra emphasis, “—decided to make a very public proposal last night.”“Very public,” Dante echoes, unable to hide his grin. “I mean, the whole pack was watching.”“And now,” Rosie chimes in, her eyes sparkling mischievously, “it’s going viral. Instead, I stand up, pushing my chair back as I get down on one knee. The gasps around us are immediate. The pack members who have been subtly watching our every move are now openly staring, their eyes wide with shock and curiosity as a few of them start recording it on their phones. But none of that matters anymore. The only thing that matters is the woman in front of me.Azura’s hands fly to her mouth, her eyes wide with surprise. “Ryker, what are you—”“Azura,” I interrupt softly, pulling the ring from my pocket and holding it up for her to see. “From the moment I met you, I knew you were the one for me. RykerThe moment she steps out of the bathroom, wearing my shirt and looking both regal and relaxed, my breath catches in my throat. Azura—the one person who can shatter me with a glance and, at the same time, make me feel invincible—is here, wrapped up in my scent, my world, and for the first time in what feels like forever, everything seems right. Her hair cascades down her back, damp from the shower, catching the light in a way that makes her look ethereal, like some kind of warrior goddess who has walked straight out of legend. And yet, there is this softness to her that draws me in. The way her lips curve into a soft smile when she catches me staring, the subtle blush on her cheeks... damn, I’m a goner.I can’t help but shake my head as a light blush creeps onto my cheeks as I recall the moment she came to me, begging me to fuck her and make her forget everything else that’s been running through her mind. She is silly but cute and yet demanding; I absolutely love that about her.

The sound echoes in the quiet hallway as I stride in, locking the door behind me.I toss her onto the bed, her body bouncing slightly against the mattress, but she quickly scrambles to her feet and tries to run away. Before she can make another move, I’m in front of her, pinning her against the wall, trapping her between my body and the cold surface behind her. Her breath hitches, her eyes wide with a mix of shock and something else—something that matches the heat blazing in my chest.“You want to know what I want, Azura?” I growl, my voice low as I lean in closer, my lips inches from hers. “I want you to stop pushing me away. I want you to stop acting like you don’t feel this, too.”Her breathing quickens, and for a split second, I see a flicker of uncertainty in her e

How could I have missed that? A part of me feels bad for not going to his room and checking out the dress earlier. He looked so hurt, but he was quick to mask it over with a smile when he got to know that I hadn’t seen it.I glance at him across the room as he chats with some of the warriors; he is looking so hot in that suit. Of course, the women would throw themselves at him. I scan the venue and find the girls staring at him with lovesick eyes. Elysia’s mother looks livid, her lips pressed into a thin, disapproving line while her father strides toward Dante with a fury that promises trouble."How dare you abduct my daughter?" Her father’s booming voice slices through the peaceful atmosphere, drawing everyone's attention. His eyes blaze with a mixture of anger and disbelief as he takes in the sight of his daughter in a wedding dress, standing next to Dante, who looks caught between panic and determination. I immediately step forward, my protective instincts kicking in, but before I can speak, Andrew and my grandfather appear out of nowhere, moving to intercept Elysia’s parents. Their presence is a calming force, and I see both of them exchange a quick glance before addressing the royal witches.“Wait,” Andrew begins, his voice calm but firm, as he raises his hands to sto
