Landon's P.O.V

"Sir!"

I lifted my head and my glance fell on my chief guard, John. He was a short, bulgy man who often got on my nerves. Especially when I needed my alone time and he disobeyed my orders.

"John, why are you here? I want to be alone." I said, slightly annoyed.

"Sorry Sir." He apologized but took a step forward. "We found a girl around the border. We thought she was initially dead but after some examinations, we realized she had a concussion and needed medical attention."

"Then give her one and do not bother me anymore."

He cleared his throat. "There's a slight problem with that. She's from the Lightcrest pack."

My ears shot up immediately I heard those words. Lightcrest pack? Could she be the one? Shivers of anticipation and dread flooded my body as I rose from my seat.

A month ago, I received a prophesy from the seer. A prophesy that held my fate and destiny. I would finally find my erasthai.

Cursed from birth, I was unable to ever feel the mate bond. I was destined to be alone and to die without feeling the love of a mate. I had been with several women but my desire to be with them faded immediately as I never formed a connection with them. For years, I have searched for a solution but everything I did proved to be futile.

Not until the seer revealed that my erasthai and the one who would break the curse would turn up during the red moon ceremony.

I didn't want to believe the witch nor the prophecy. There were hundreds of her kind that I had sought help from but disappointed me.

Many of them left prophecies and told me false visions about my erasthai and destiny. So, I didn't want to believe that she was right this time. But somehow, I held onto a little faith and ordered the patrol of the border throughout the red moon ceremony.

Of course, a lot of girls had turned up at the border within the week. But they weren't her. The prophecy revealed that she was from the Lightcrest pack, one that held no significant status in the pack.

And now, a girl had been found from the same pack. My heart hammered in my chest and I tried not to show my fear. Would I be disappointed again? Like the others, would I look into her eyes and feel nothing? Would she be just another lost girl who couldn't help me?

"Take me to her," I said to John who was watching me keenly.

He led me to the clinic where the girl was treated in a private room. As I stepped into her room, fear and anxiousness gripped me fiercely.

She was still unconscious and was lying gracefully on a bed. She was a young one, no older than nineteen. She looked fragile, hurt, broken and I wondered what she was doing so far away from home.

"Leave us." I ordered everyone in the room and they scurried away quickly.

I moved closer to her bed and examined her. I watched as her chest rose and fell steadily. Her scent filled my nose as I stroked her golden hair slowly. She was beautiful but she wasn't the one.

I swallowed as I took in another heavy disappointment. I felt nothing around her. Her scent moved me like no other did but that was it. She wasn't special, she was just like every other girl.

Filled with anger and disappointment, I turned quickly to leave the room. But I heard her voice whisper to me.

"Stay. Stay with me." Her voice was tender and alluring. I turned around to face her but she was still unconscious. Something within me convinced me to stay and I didn't fight it.

****************

I knew she had woken up when her heartbeat increased. I spent the entire night with her despite John's plea to escort me back to my room. From across the room, I watched as she rose slowly from the bed.

Her eyes scanned the room quickly until her gaze met mine. And then the most incredible thing happened. For the first time in years, I could feel my wolf.

Not only could I feel him but I could hear his thoughts and desires. And right now, he wanted no one but her.

"Who are you?" She asked, looking terrified. I tried to open my mouth to speak but I was overwhelmed by several emotions.

My erasthai was sitting right in front of me. The prophecy was right. How couldn't I feel anything yesterday? Could she feel the bond? Would she want me?

All the years I had searched for her and she just found her way to me. I wanted to hold her desperately, to kiss her and tell her how long I had longed for her.

"Excuse me, Sir." Her voice pulled me out of my thoughts. "Who are you? And where am I?"

I cleared my throat and pulled myself together. "I'm Landon and you're safe."

"Safe? I need to get back home." She mustered. "My mum must be worried sick."

"You had a concussion and need enough rest. You might pass out again on your way home." I answered, trying to restrain myself from moving closer to her.

"I can manage." She said and tried to get out of the bed.

"Stay." I said while rushing to her bed side. "Stay with me." My eyes reached deep into her soul and begged her to stay. I couldn't let her go, not yet.

She was taken aback by my statement and tried to regain her composure. I saw as she tried to blink back tears and my heart sank.

"At least, tell me where I am." She begged with tears in her eyes. "How far am I from home?"

I breathed. "You're in my home. The Crescent Pack. And like I said, my name is La–"

"Landon Grayson." She replied, cutting me off. "The Lycan Prince." She had finally recognized who I was.

"What's your name?"

She swallowed before running her hands through her hair which tumbled over her shoulders. I couldn't help but stare at her. Her blue eyes were enthralling, like the sea on a calm morning. She had a glossy skin which looked delicately soft. Her lips were pouty and full. She had a comely figure which was stem-thin and a scent which pulled me toward her.

"I'm Daisy. Why are you helping me??"

I had expected her question but I was still unable to answer it well regardless.

I licked my lips nervously. "Because I've been searching for you for over a hundred years."

She didn't bother to hide the shock on her face. "Me?" She chuckled. "Why have you been looking for me because I think you've got the wrong person?"

"A month ago, I received a prophecy that a girl from Lightcrest pack will find her way to me. And she will be the answer to all my problems." I paused, then continued. "I was losing hope until you showed up."

She blinked rapidly. "I don't understand. What does that have to do with me?"

I moved closer to her and lifted her chin to meet my solemn gaze. "Daisy, you are the answer to all my problems. You are the reason I'm going to know what true love feels like. You are my erasthai."

LANDONMy father, the king...I quickly placed Daisy back on the pillow and slowly pulled away from her. I could see the question and worry in her eyes, but I didn’t have the time to appease her. Quickly, I ran to the wardrobe and grabbed clothes for myself, a royal robe.No matter what, one must not enter the crown area without having a robe. I turned to look at Daisy, who was holding a pillow to herself in a bid to cover up her nakedness. I tried to smile, but it didn’t come out quite right."Wait here," I said instead. With that, I stepped out of the room to a pensive-looking John. His head was down in obeisance, and I could tell that the matter was grave, for there was none of his calming aura at that moment."What happened to my father?” I asked at once.He shook his head. "I don’t have much information about it, Prince Landon. All I know is that the queen has sent for you, and she is in no good mood," he added.I gave a quick nod and moved quickly toward the elevator. John follo

DAISYLandon led me to his room, without saying a word to me, or letting go of my waist. I was grateful for that because it would simply make the princesses see the chemistry between us and annoy them even more."Come in," he said politely.I said nothing as I stepped in. Taking several steps away from him, in other to put some distance between us, I watched as he shut the door firmly behind him. I held my hands together, hoping to control the pain that I was feeling. "I have missed you," he said suddenly as he turned to look at me.I scoffed. "Save those words. You have shown me what I meant to you since the night of the ball."I blinked in shock as Landon suddenly pushed me against the wall, trapping me with his body. I could hear the pounding of my heart and I knew he could too. "Don’t try to intimidate me," I said, feeling heat all over my body. He smirked. "What are you afraid of, Daisy?"I looked away from his piercing eyes, unable to take any more of the heat that he exuded.

DAISY"I can’t keep staying here," I grumbled as I got out of bed, feeling completely drained. I knew I needed rest but I couldn’t continue to lie in bed all day. I was losing my mind with all the thoughts in my head and a distraction was needed. I had no idea what time it was, but I knew I had spent two days in bed after Landon’s last visit. The fact he had not come again to check up on me was so painful. Was I really going to succeed in breaking my own relationship with my own hands? Had I really succeeded in pushing him away? I shook my head as I walked barefoot to the bathroom. I can’t take the whole blame since he was the one who didn’t do anything to defend me from his mother’s continuous onslaught.Sighing I pulled my shirt off and tossed it to the nearest washing basket. I could imagine that I actually had some odour since I had not had my bath for two days, but at least, I was fine now. Stepping into the bath, I opened the tap, and allowed the water to wash me from my hair

DAISY"Ugh!"My fingers lightly kneaded the side of my head as I tried to stay awake. I felt as though someone was hitting my head with a hammer, and I just didn’t know how to get the pain off. Slowly, I turned over to my left in a bid to see what time it was. The giant clock on the wall claimed it was 6 am."Maybe, I’m going through this because I woke up too early?" I mumbled to myself as I tried to get to my feet.It was as though I was swimming in a pool, with no means to swim out. Biting down my lips in pain, I tried hard not to scream. I pushed my hands back a bit, and slowly pushed myself up."Oh, moon goddess!" I breathed out at the same time the door sprang open, and in came, Prince Landon holding a tray of freshly baked biscuit and warm scented tea.He beamed at me as though we had suddenly sorted out all the problems between us. "I’m so glad you’re awake, darling," he said heartily.Since when did he call me that and act this way? I couldn’t stand the way he was so frivolou

ALEXANDERThe whole atmosphere was so chill as death, and I didn’t need to be told twice what had caused it to be so. There was no point in dwelling in such matters, but I found that I couldn’t think straight with all that had happened.I turned towards the empty podium where the queen and king should be, but it was vacant. "Do you think someone really tried to kill Daisy, or she had orchestrated all these to gain sympathy from the Lycan Prince?" I asked Wyatt who stood behind me in silence."Alpha, I wouldn’t know for sure till I investigate the matter. But, whatever happened here doesn’t look like a ploy. She was really in pain," Wyatt said calmly.I frowned at that as my hands twisted over my pants. If that were true, then who could have done such a thing? It was definitely not me, because all I wanted was to get her out of here, and to my pack. I wanted her to knee before me in submission, and unable to say a word in her defence. My eyes scanned the room, and I realised that Mart

LANDONI hugged Daisy so hard, not wishing to let her go even for a minute. She meant a lot to me, more than I could put into words. How could someone so pure go through so much pain?"Landon, I can’t breathe," she whined.A smile touched my lips as I slowly released her. "You don’t want me to hug you, silly girl," I teased just as hard.I let my fingers slowly slide through her hair. She was the most amazing, and the sweetest soul ever. Nothing must go wrong with her. Her eyes were slowly dim, and I could tell that she was struggling to get herself and that broke me."Come closer," she said softly.I leaned closer to her and felt her hands weakly hold me tight. It felts so good to be able to have such a hold on me, and I just wanted to be with her even more than I ever had in my whole lifetime."Can you stop this awful display now?" Mother’s voice pierced through the moment.I gritted my teeth as I slowly pulled away, kissing Daisy on her forehead. I looked down on her face, and her
