Chapter 6 - Agreed And Signed.

“No, I can't do this.” Aliyah refused, shaking her head as she pushed the documents away.

She stared at the huge man seated before her, on his face was a bright smile that enhanced his handsomeness and devilish sexiness.

She can't get married like this and definitely not to Romero Kingley!

Wilson stepped forward, he fished out his phone and placed it before Aliyah then he clicked the play button.

Aliyah watched in horror as she dragged her drunk self towards the room she had booked and instead of room 251, she had entered room 257, Romero's room, the video stopped and Aliyah felt like knocking herself hard on the head.

“So technically, you were the one who went into Mr Kingley's room and now his reputation is on the line, because the camera had caught you and him coming out of the same room at intervals.” Wilson sighed.

“His name is involved in a scandal, something that had never happened before, not until you came along.” Taking the remote, Wilson switched on the Tv and went to a news channel and there the news was airing.

“Holy moly!” She screamed as she stared at her picture which was on full display.

“Well,” The PA, smiled drawing Aliyah's attention, “Boss could make the news go away this very instance…” he trailed off, Aliyah knew what was next.

“If?”

Wilson nodded, glad that she seems to be getting the point, “Only if you agree to the marriage contract.”

“I can't -”

“You have to!” Wilson exclaimed his hands in the air, obviously frustrated on why she was giving him a whole lot of problems.

Aliyah sighed, she turned to the billionaire, his face still maintained his smile, it was as if he was having fun watching her, “Sir,” She started, mounting the most pleading face ever “I know I was wrong but that was not intentional, I was drunk and for that I am sorry, but I can't agree to this.”

Silence clouded the room.

Romero got up, walked to the blinds, he separated them and stared outside for a bit. “I actually thought Albert Malvern's daughter would stand for her right, would love to get her revenge but I guess I was wrong, terribly wrong.”

Romero turned to the younger lady that has seemed to invade his thoughts ever since that night and even now he is resisting all the urge in him not to grab her and place a kiss on that lips.

“I-”

“Do you know why your boyfriend,” Romero paused, the sound of that suddenly tastes bitter to him, “Ex boyfriend was snatched from you?” He asked, staring at the younger lady who only looked away, making him miss those innocent ocean blue orbs.

He stepped closer to her, “Do you know why your inheritance was taken away from you?” This time around he sat very close to her, though his heavenly fragrance from his cologne and masculinity pulled her in but she shifted away from him.

“Do you know why?” He asked again, pulling closer to her, Aliyah shook her head in the negative, “It's because they see you as powerless, having nobody to back you up.”

The billionaire's phone rang, he picked his call, stood up from her side, immediately she somewhat missed the warmth he had provided while by her side.

‘Because they see you as powerless.’ His words echoed in her ears.

The billionaire is right, if her father was here, Aliyah was very sure that her step mother or even Valerie, her stepsister wouldn't get away with this, but now he wasn't here and the next available option was that if she had someone powerful by her side, they would not mess with her.

Someone powerful?

Romero Kingsley… She slowly turned her head to him, she remembers how this very man in her presence was greatly feared and respected, that even rulers wouldn't dare to offend him, his name alone was a commanding force not to even now talk of his formidable and domineering presence.

Even when her father was alive, she had heard him countless times warning his subordinates about crossing the billionaire's path.

‘If you accept this, Aliyah, your status, everything about you automatically changes.’ She thought.

But Romero Kingsley is not a man anyone should be involved with.

“Ocean, why the frown?” Romero asked as he ended his call, he had turned to look at her and seeing her frown bothers him.

Aliyah sighed.

“Miss,” Wilson called, Aliyah turned to him, he nudged at the Tv, the volume increased.

On the Tv, Valerie had just finished walking the runway. No doubt Valerie was looking beautiful, the dress, the makeup and all, Aliyah suddenly felt insecured remembering the words Justin had said that her body irritated him.

A lady stood beside Valerie with a microphone, “Miss Valerie, is it true that you are engaged to Mr Justin Alward? The next CEO of Alward's Group?” She asked.

With a broad smile Valerie answered “Yes, I am and sneak peak,” she uses her hand to cover her mouth as if wanting to say a secret “We are getting married soon.”

“Wow! Congratulations.”

“Thanks.”

“But I heard from a source that your older sister was in a relationship with him at some point.”

Valerie's smile dropped but she was fast to pull it back up, “You heard wrong.” She said and was about to leave when she paused and with a smirk she continued “Even if it were true, is an illegitimate child worthy of what real children should have?”

Tears sting Aliyah's eyes, she tried to hold it in but seeing the triumph smile on Valerie's face, she broke down in tears.

Wilson quickly put off the Tv when his Boss shot him a death stare.

“Ocean-”

“I have always been mistreated,” She started cutting the billionaire off, “Most times I wish I wasn't born, now the only man I thought loved me and wanted me now wants my sister, my inheritance was taken and..” She cried all the more “In no time I would be poor, might even drop out and start living in the street.”

Romero clenched his fists, anger filling him as he heard those words, “That would never happen.”

“But here you are offering me a solution, a solution that I don't even know what the outcome will be.”

“It's just for a year,” Wilson stated as he took the brown envelope, “It's to serve purpose, Mr Kingley needs a bride for a year and within this year you could get back what you lost, get back at people who hurt you and not only that achieve the success and wealth you wish for.”

“What?!” Aliyah exclaimed in surprise, she was beyond shock.

“And if you are afraid that anything uncomfortable would happen to you, you don't have to, Boss would keep to his words, once you state that something is uncomfortable to you we would look into it.”

Aliyah turned to Romero who had his gaze fixated on her, “Is that true?” She asked as a smile was beginning to touch her lips.

With a smile he nodded, “Yes, Ocean.”

“Wow!” Was she dreaming? No! This is more than she could ever ask for, “And after a year, we go our separate ways?”

“Yes.” This time it was Wilson that answered.

Aliyah takes the envelope from him, she takes out the documents and begins reading carefully, everything they have said we're stated in the documents, no hidden clause or ambiguous statement.

“Yes, I agree.”

“Hurray!!” Wilson yelled happily but immediately put himself in check when Romero frowned at him, “I mean, thank you Miss.”

“Can I get a pen to append my signature?” Aliyah asked.

“Take,” Romero stretched an handkerchief to her, Aliyah looked confused “I hate it when I see tears in your eyes.”

“Oh.” Aliyah muttered as she took the handkerchief, she wiped her face, her nose catching the fragrance of his cologne “I will wash and return this.” She said, Romero nodded.

Wilson handed a pen to Aliyah, she signed the document, Romero also did the same.

“Other necessary documents would be brought to you,” Aliyah nodded at Wilson's words “A car is waiting to take you back to your apartment.”

“Thank you.” She said looking at the billionaire who only nodded at her and with that Romero and Wilson left.

Just as they were about to enter the car, Wilson asked “Boss, is there a problem?”

Because ever since they stepped out from Aliyah's presence, Romero's countenance has changed, it was as if the billionaire was upset and at the same time worried.

“You said she would get back everything she lost?” Romero asked his head tilted to the side as if rethinking something.

Wilson's faces bored confused as he nodded. Was there something he had said wrong?

The billionaire got into the car, Wilson followed suit, his heart raced in fear as he tried to remember if there was anything he had done wrong.

“Including getting her ex back?” Romero asked, his tone sounded upset and displeasure was written over his face, somehow he didn't like the sound of that.

Wilson blinked in confusion as he wondered if his boss was worried about the Miss’ Ex? Justin, his nephew?
